Hello friends I hope you are all super well, a big hug to all, I want to apologize for the time that I have that I do not publish since my mobile phone was damaged, and I have not been able to get a new one and that has had me a little distracted more on that. Trying to get that resolved. But here we are again. Today I bring you a movie that more than horror I think is a mystery and suspense film. I think this is a very good version of this story, I'm talking about "The Picture of Dorian Gray".

THE PORTRAIT OF DORIAN GRAY

Dorian Gray is a movie from 2009, and presents the story of a boy who has a painting of himself, which has a spell that makes him young for life. A tape of mystery and suspense that has become a cult movie, has many versions as this is a story adapted on many occasions but this 2009 version is the best adapted so far.

THE PORTRAIT OF DORIAN GRAY

Plot:
The story of the film tells the story of a young man "Dorian Gray" which has a perfect physique, is very beautiful, and attracts the attention of people for all its beauty of both women and men, this creates in the boy an attitude of ego. Dorian is a rich boy, who has a mansion, there he has many works of art, but they wanted to have one of himself, and offers him the painter who makes these works to make him a painting. The artist makes the painting and Dorian places it in the living room of his mansion. Dorian eventually marries, and leads a normal life, but under the influence of one of his friends, he begins to experience all sorts of things in life, both various women, drugs, homosexual experiences, orgies, among many other things, all this leads him to have a promiscuous and sinful life. This causes Dorian to have a bad attitude, to the point that he kills several times and becomes a murderer. When he discovers that his painting is the one that is being damaged little by little by all his sins, while he remains young and immortal. Years go by and Dorian Gray continues his life of sins while his painting is hidden and covered away from people's sight. Until the murders he committed are discovered and his spell is uncovered, so he has to destroy the painting so that he can die.

Director:
The director of the film is "Oliver Parker" who is a British director who has worked on other films based on stories by writer Oscar Wilde, such as "The Importance of Being Earnest" and "An Ideal Husband". With Dorian Gray the director wanted to capture the theme and essence of Oscar in the film.

Producer:
The producer in charge of this client is "Barnaby Thompson" who is known for working with "Oliver Parker" on several of his films. He has produced TV series such as the series "Miranda".

Screenplay:
the script of the movie was in charge of "Toby Finlay" who was together with the director in charge of adapting the story of "Oscar Wilde" to the screen, being faithful to the original story, capturing and modernizing a little bit the story in order to capture a young audience, but without leaving the plot and the essence of the story.

DORIAN GRAY

Based on:
The film is based on the original book written by the novelist "Oscar Wilde" who in the year 1890 published "The Tragedy of Dorian Gray", which is a story that narrates the experiences about vanity and seduction. Making a social criticism on these behaviors. Although the novel became a literary classic, it was not a commercial success at the time.

BOOK COVER

Criticism:
The critics are divided, some argue that the film lacks to go deeper into the story of Dorian Gray, this is the most negative criticism. On the positive side, the reviews are very good, they highlight the work of the actor "Ben Barnes" for his interpretation of Dorian, they also praise the scenery and the aesthetics of the film, very delicate, the photography is also very well argued. In short, the reviews are mostly positive.

Opinion:
In my opinion, the movie is good, but not quite excellent, I mean, the photography and scenery are impeccable. The costumes and make-up are also very good. The actor's work is very good, he plays Dorian Gray, his aesthetic is excellent. But beyond the movie, you can see the message that Oscar Wilde wanted to leave at the time of writing this plot, the vanities and eccentricities, and the bad attitude, the egos, only damage our soul little by little, from there comes what happens to Dorian that if he is young, and does what he pleases and everything bad, but his soul is being destroyed little by little, which is what the painting reflects, that once he sees himself in the painting he dies because his soul is rotten. It is a clear message. We have to be good as much as we can and leave the vain things behind and always help as much as we can. To have our soul and conscience clean is the healthiest thing for our life.

Conclusion:
To conclude, I want to tell you that the movie is good, I recommend it is very entertaining, and I also recommend you to read the book so you can have a broader picture of the story and so you can understand a little more what he wanted to tell us in his story "Oscar Wilde". Egos and bad attitudes should be removed from our lives, as well as vanities and drugs. It is okay to experiment but not to the extreme because we may be hurting ourselves and those around us.
