Rambo: First Blood / The Sad, Cruel and Real Effect of Wars (1982) Review [Eng - Esp]

In the afternoon hours yesterday, I decided to vary my daily routine and watch some other television channel, with the intention of finding something that would take my attention, personally I am not a person who at this point in his life is a consumer of television series or movies from there, The truth is that I am not so interested in that, if there was a stage or time in which I enjoyed it, I took too much advantage of it and enjoyed it in my adolescence and childhood and even my near adulthood, but there came a point in which I simply lost interest. But yesterday I made an exception for a change, and it turns out that if there was a classic movie that I never get tired of watching or miss the opportunity to even see some of its scenes in whatever medium, I am referring to the movie starring Sylvester Stallone Rambo to be more specific Rambo: First Blood.

Every movie coming from Rambo I really like a lot, and it's mostly because I grew up watching this kind of content with my family and other movies of that time, played as for example Arnold, Jean Klaud Vandame, Bruce Lee, etc, movies that incorporated a degree of action or violence, but in the case of this movie and why for me it has a greater weight and more narrative value, is because in turn shows a sad reality that was lived in an old time and even today, and that is the consequences of war, Rambo as simple as it is in plot and in addition to its setting is directed to weapons and death, because in the case of this film addresses something different as I will mention in depth to their respective time, so this time I bring you a classic film Rambo: First Blood.

A horas de la tarde en el día de ayer, decidí variar en mi rutina diaria y ver alguno que otro canal televisivo, con la intensión de encontrar algo que se llevara mi atención, en lo personal yo no soy una persona que a estas alturas de su vida sea consumidora de series televisivas o películas provenientes de ahí, la verdad es que no me encuentro tan interesado actualmente en eso, si hubo una etapa o época en la cual lo disfrutaba le saque demasiado provecho y lo disfrute en mi adolescencia y niñez y hasta mi adultez cercana, pero llego un punto en el cual simplemente perdí el interés. Pero ayer hice una excepción para variar, y resulta que si hubo una película un clásico que no me canso de ver o no pierdo la oportunidad de siquiera ver algunas de sus escenas ya sea en el medio que sea, me refiero a la película protagonizada por Sylvester Stallone Rambo para ser más específicos Rambo: First Blood.

Toda película proveniente de Rambo realmente me gusta mucho, y es más que nada porque crecí viendo este tipo de contenido con mi familia y otras películas de aquella época, interpretadas como por ejemplo Arnold, Jean Klaud Vandame, Bruce Lee, etc, películas que incorporaban un grado de acción o violencia, pero en el caso de esta película y el porqué para mi tiene un mayor peso y más valor narrativo, es porque a su vez muestra una triste realidad que se vivía en un antiguo tiempo eh incluso en esta actualidad, y eso es las consecuencias de la guerra, Rambo por muy simple que sea en trama y además de que su ambientación está dirigida a las armas y la muerte, pues en el caso de este film aborda algo diferente como ya mencionare a profundidad a su respectivo momento, así que esta vez les traigo una película clásica Rambo: First Blood.

Rambo: First Blood, is considered a film originating in the United States in 1982, which was directed by Ted Kotcheff and starring Sylvester Stallone such film, is based on the novel titled First Blood (1972) written by David Morrell, was so well received by the public that they took sequels besides it was the first film that made Sylvester Stallone jump to stardom and is so well known.

Rambo: First Blood, viene siendo considerada una película originaria de estados unidos de 1982, la cual fue dirigida por Ted Kotcheff y protagonizada por Sylvester Stallone tal película, esta basada en la novela titulada primera sangre (1972) escrita por David Morrell, tuvo tan buena recepción ante el público que sacaron secuelas además de ello fue la primera película que hizo que Sylvester Stallone saltara al estrellato y sea tan conocido.

The plot focuses on the life of a young John Rambo, a soldier and war veteran (Vietnam), and last member of a specialized forces that wanders like a vagabond on the roads of the United States, his life will change when he tries to enter a town is intercepted by a policeman of the same, which exposes him in a prejudiced way that his presence would not be welcome there, and it is through this type of actions towards Rambo that gradually triggered a series of events quite strong for many.

La trama se centra en la vida de un joven John Rambo, un soldado y veterano de guerra (de Vietnam), y último miembro de unas fuerzas especializadas que deambula como un vagabundo por las carreteras de todo estados unidos, su vida cambiara cuando este al intentar ingresar a un pueblo es interceptado por un policía del mismo, el cual le expone de manera prejuiciosa que su presencia no sería bien recibida ahí, y es a través de este tipo de acciones hacia Rambo que paulatinamente se desencadenara una serie de sucesos bastante fuertes para muchos.

I will not extrapolate so much when it comes to review this film, since there is only one theme present here in this film that has a great weight and is the one that I will give more attention, I will certainly talk about aspects related to the plot, or the cameras, or environment what I usually do in most of my reviews in a very superficial and quick way, but when it comes to address specific points here I will only take one, therefore it is most likely that this review will not be so long. As I mentioned in the introduction of this review, I understand that the Rambo sequels have a great visual and narrative appeal no matter how simple it is, since at the end of the day he is an elite soldier who acts on the basis of those very high or difficult situations and I understand that he wanted to take great advantage of that in his next movies in terms of action, movies which I enjoyed more than anything else for entertainment.

However there is a big difference between that and the background that takes weight in this first film, a film of which personally, and only for this aspect for me is one of my favorites, because as I mentioned above reflects a cruel and sad reality, that we see before many soldiers at that time (to be specific in the Vietnam War) and currently, soldiers who to complete their military service in general, having passed or covered everything necessary to fight and survive in the face of the apples to which they will face and then culminate their service in the war or in various operations, the process of adaptation would be very difficult in many cases to reestablish themselves in society since the war field never leaves you, it is a constant that will always be there mentally and its collateral effects to the individual can manifest in many ways and here as that is reflected I thought it was very cool psychologically speaking.

Rambo is cornered and treated badly in the first instance, a treatment that he doesn't deserve and is only classified as such by others because of his appearance (by the town policemen) being cornered to the point of starting a small war for reacting in a negative way, to the psychological wounds of the war he suffered and his mental instability due to the tortures and situations he faced before, is an example of the social inability he has to adapt again as he returns to a point where he has absolutely nothing and lost everything, even much of it, and lost a lot of his life, nothing and lost everything even much of his humanity and this will be reflected more than anything at the end of the film as in the middle of the film we will see Jonh's knowledge and means to defend himself but the most powerful closure will come at the end, where we see a strong and capable individual but at the same time so fragile and broken and that for me takes more weight in a narrative way, because of how real it is.

In terms of plot, I can say that it is very simple, but that does not make it a bad thing, the truth is that the background of Rambo and the ability to act of Sylvester Stallone, is what gives great weight here and for the point I mentioned before is what has more impact, plus of course his ability to adapt and self-defense in certain environments in this case in a forest that really was very good to see, and to this day I still like the part in which he hunts one by one the officers in their "field". The setting and the game of cameras for a film of this era are very good the truth is that at this point I have no complaints, it was a good environment in which to develop those acts that led the protagonist to do what he had to do and show his point.

And with this I finish today's review, a somewhat simple review, well for me it was because it only addressed a particular point, one that has a lot of weight in several ways, mostly in our reality as in the past as well as in the now, as always thank you very much for coming here and I hope the reading has been to your liking without more to say until next time.

No me extrapolare tanto a la hora de llegar a reseñar esta película, ya que solamente hay un tema presente aquí en todo este film que tiene un gran peso y es aquel del cual le daré mas atención, ciertamente hablare de aspectos vinculados a la trama, o las cámaras, o ambiente lo que suelo hacer en la mayoría de mis reseñas de forma muy superficial y rápida, pero a la hora de llegar abordar puntos en concreto aquí solamente tomare uno, por consiguiente lo más seguro es que esta reseña no sea tan larga. Como mencione en la introducían de esta reseña, entiendo que las secuelas de Rambo tengan un gran atractivo visual y narrativo por muy simple que sea, ya que al final de cuentas es un soldado de elite que actúa en base aquellas situaciones muy elevadas o difíciles y comprendo que se le quiso sacar un gran provecho sobre eso en sus siguientes películas en términos de acción, películas las cuales disfrute mucho más que nada por entretenimiento.

Sin embargo hay una gran diferencia entre eso y el trasfondo que cobra peso en esta primera película, película de la cual en lo personal, y solo por este aspecto para mi es una de mis favoritas, porque como mencione con anterioridad refleja una cruel y triste realidad, aquella que vemos ante muchos soldados en esa época (para ser específicos en la guerra de Vietnam) y actualmente, soldados que al cumplir su servicio militar en general, al a ver pasado o cubierto todo lo necesario para combatir y sobrevivir ante las amanzanas a las que se enfrentaran y luego culminar su servicio en la guerra o ante varias operaciones, el proceso de adaptación sería muy difícil en muchos casos para restablecerse en la sociedad ya que el campo de guerra nunca te deja, es una constante que siempre estará ahí mentalmente y sus efectos colaterales al individuo pueden llegar a manifestarse de muchas formas y aquí como se plasma eso me pareció muy genial psicológicamente hablando.

Rambo es orillado y tratado mal a primera instancia, un trato que ni merece y solo es clasificado así por otros por su apariencia (por los policías del pueblo) el verse arrinconado a tal punto de iniciar una pequeña guerra por reaccionar de una forma negativa, ante las heridas psicológicas de la guerra que sufrió y su inestabilidad mental debido a las torturas y situaciones que afronto antes, es un ejemplo de la incapacidad social que tiene para volver a adaptarse ya que vuelve a un punto en el que no tiene absolutamente, nada y perdió todo incluso gran parte de su humanidad y esto se verá reflejado más que nada al final de la película ya que en el intermediario de la misma veremos los conocimientos y medios de Jonh para defenderse pero el cierre con mas fuerza vendrá al final, en el que vemos a un individuo fuerte y capaz pero al mismo tiempo tan frágil y roto y eso para mí toma más peso de forma narrativa, por lo real que es.

En términos de trama, puedo llegar a decir que es muy simple, pero no por eso viene siendo algo malo, la verdad es que el trasfondo de Rambo y la capacidad de actuar de Sylvester Stallone, es lo que da un gran peso aquí y por el punto que mencione antes es lo que tiene mas impacto, además de claro sus capacidades de adaptación y defensa personal en ciertos ambientes en este caso en un bosque eso realmente fue muy bueno de ver, y hasta estas alturas me sigue gustando la parte en la cual caza a uno por uno a los oficiales en su "terreno". La ambientación y el juego de cámaras para una película de esta época son muy buenas la verdad es que en este punto no tengo quejas, fue un buen ambiente en el cual se desenvolvieran esos actos que llevaron al protagonista hacer lo que tuvo que hacer y mostrar su punto.

Y con esto termino la reseña del día de hoy, una reseña algo simple bueno para mí lo fue ya que solo aborde un punto en concreto uno del cual tiene mucho peso en varios sentidos, más que nada en nuestra realidad como en el pasado así como en el ahora, como siempre muchas gracias por llegar hasta acá y espero la lectura haya sido de su agrado sin más que decir hasta la próxima.
