Record of Ragnarok season 2: The battle between humans and gods intensifies (2023) Review [Eng - Esp]

About two years ago, I had the opportunity to review the first season to be more specific of this anime, I admit that at the time due to the hype and excitement I had, my judgment was slightly clouded and reading that review in retrospect, I feel that I did not do it enough justice by being a little more objective and fair with some aspects especially with the most outstanding visually speaking, I was referring to the animation in some parts, this time I don't want to make that mistake again, so I will try to be a little stricter on that part, because even though I love the manga and the plot, as simple as it is, it really fulfills a very well consolidated and functional function for what it wants to represent and what it wants to bring, it made me personally extrapolate in a better way my happiness beyond, in that case towards its animation, blinding me a little bit.

And despite the fact that it is certainly so, in this second season something interesting happens, since the chapters that will be shown of the following events that came out next will be shown this time in parts, that is to say the first part will reach chapter 10 and the second will show a total of 5, you will have to wait until the next date to see the continuation of the plot, something that had not happened before in the first season, and thing of which Netflix is choosing to do very often with some of its series, an example of this was with Jojos Bizzare Adventiures: Stone Ocean, so I will take care to give a review as best as possible to this first part of this second season and then when the other part comes out I will also do the same, and review it to be more fair, so ladies and gentlemen this time I bring you to the second season (first part) of the anime of Record of Ragnarok or Shumatsu no Valkyrie.

Well now that I literally just saw this first part of the second season of this anime, which has only 10 chapters for now, I can speak with a little more security to what I could witness in general, first and foremost I will not mention in detail about the previous season, so if you are interested in this series I recommend that you see it and then go to this second season, to have a better understanding of what happens, if in such a case I mention about the first season, Now having clarified this I would like to say that here in this season there is a slight improvement in the aspect of dynamism and fluidity of the animation, certainly they improved it just a little and it is because they had enough time to carry out this work in a better way, since in the last season, and I also mentioned this in that old review, they only had one month to animate a total of 12 chapters.

For that moment there was a very limited time and with all that in between, it was shown for that first season a work at best acceptable but not so remarkable the truth, but the reason behind that was understood, now in this second season is in between a slight improvement, there are some fights or movements of which kept a simplicity that to my taste I feel that could be done better or a fight that showed a better dynamism than another, but certainly for me despite this they did a better job the truth. Also in this season the use of 3d modeling was incorporated, which was not bad, well for me it was more than acceptable, they did not abuse it at all, and it was only used in some specific scenes that deserved it, I quite liked that this medium was not abused, besides this another always outstanding feature is the aspect of the music, something that the first season also had and here is still maintained and leaving aside this, let's go now to fragment part by part this anime.

Let's start with the animation section, as I mentioned at this point in general shows a slight difference and improvement in terms of movement, dynamism, fluidity and colors especially the colors here, are shown with a greater impact in some scenes or encounters, for the first part of this season were only 2 fights of which each one showed a different aspect in its own way, at some points and in its own way each fight excelled in what the other did not have and vice versa, but neither ended up being something so bad, if it was a small feature that I feel that if it had been polished better the result would have been different but it is not so bad, as I said although the animation improved just a little, it is not a super exceptional work as series like Kimetzu no Yaiba or Fate or Chainsaw man, to mention examples in terms of animation, but it is not bad or decadent in this case for me in a middle ground is acceptable and fulfills its function of showing without being uncomfortable.

In relation to the aspect of the plot, here this is still a continuation, after the last 3 fights shown in the first season, in this case there are 3 of them, but for now only 2 have been shown in this first part, the last fight will be shown later this year, here in comparison to some aspects of the manga if there were certain changes in the presentation of some things, but I did not get to bother me because it was modified a little so that there was no confusion at some points, so I understand it, I have the bases to confirm this since I am updated in the manga and in some sections of those chapters if something slightly confusing could be said, but as far as it goes it is not bad, the fights are dynamic and show an interesting background to each fighter making it have a more loaded weight (although if you ask me the last fight if it will be more interesting in many nuances. )

As for the music section, I can say that I loved it, as in the first season the music section in the osts as well as in the opening and ending are very good, they really transmit the emotion, the euphoria, the sadness through each song or ost in this case in each fight and the unfolding of the same in its end, I really feel that this is a very strong point and with the opening showing as always a very catchy introduction in terms of rhythm, here I have no particular complaint.

I was really excited waiting for this second season to come out, and now I can be calmer and happier, it only remains to wait for the second part and end of this second season and when it comes out, I will be sure to give you its respective review, although a little shorter but we'll see since I really liked the two fights that I saw, don't misunderstand me, the last one is the one I liked the most especially when I read it in the manga, since the character of Budha in this case seems very cool to me, but I'll save that for the second part, so as always thanks for coming here and I hope the reading has been to your liking, without more to say until the next one.
