The Knights of the Zodiac Strike Back (1988) Review [Eng - Esp]

We continue with the reviews of the Saint Seiya franchise, and in this particular case I do not know what this movie has that compared to those that I have reviewed before I do not like so much the truth, I'll be honest, is the one I liked the least but it has moments within its simplistic plot that I liked the truth and this is a point that I will address much later, I mean I never tire of saying that the plot within these films, is quite simple and monotonous but I assume that by the standards of its date was what most impacted, because it made known the loyalty of a saint or knight of Athena, before any adversity and more if it is against the same, and of course this is where our main protagonists and more influential in the entire franchise come, but a little later I will touch these points in some detail some more than others, as I feel that there is not much to rescue and for the record I do not feel bad the movie at all, but I do not call so much attention if I'm honest.

It should be noted that all the events that are involved in this film, are not canonical that is not linked to the main plot, are a version of an alternate universe and this principle will be maintained in the following films even so I mention it to have it more than clear eh inform, so without further ado ladies and gentlemen this time I bring you the film of The Zodiac Knights Strike Back.

Seguimos con las reseñas de la franquicia de Saint Seiya, y en este caso en particular no se que tiene esta película que en comparación a las que eh reseñado antes no me gusta tanto la verdad, les seré honesto, es la que menos me gusto pero tiene momentos dentro de su simplista trama que me gustaron bastante la verdad y este es un punto que abordare mucho más adelante, es decir no me canso de decir que la trama dentro de estas películas, es bastante simple y monótona pero asumo que para los estándares de su fecha era lo que más impactaba, porque se daba a conocer la lealtad de un santo o caballero de Atena, ante cualquier adversidad y más si es en contra de la misma, y claro aquí es donde acuden nuestros protagonistas principales y mas influyentes en toda la franquicia, pero de a poco más adelante tocare estos puntos con algo de detalle unos más que otros, ya que siento que no hay tanto que rescatar y que conste no siento mala la película del todo, pero no me llamo tanto la atención si les soy honestos.

Cabe recalcar que todos los acontecimientos que se ven inmiscuidos en esta película, no son canónicos es decir que no están ligados a la trama principal, son una versión de un universo alternativo y este principio, se mantendrá en las películas siguientes aun así lo menciono para tenerlo más que claro eh informar, así que sin mas preámbulo damas y caballeros esta vez les traigo la película de Los caballeros del zodiaco contraatacan.

The Knights of the Zodiac Strike Back in Spanish America or as it is known colloquially in Japan as Saint Seiya: Shinku no shonen densetsu and translated in that language Saint Seiya: The Legend of the Crimson Youth, is considered as the third film of the franchise, being this released on July 23, 1988.

With the direction of Shigeyasu Yamauchi and the script by Yoshiyuki Suga and music by Seiji Yokoyama, the animation studio in charge is Toei animation.

Los caballeros del zodiaco contraatacan en Hispanoamérica o como se le conoce coloquialmente en Japón como, Saint Seiya: Shinku no shonen densetsu y traducido ya en dicho idioma Saint Seiya : La leyenda de los jóvenes carmesí, viene siendo considerada como la tercera película de dicha franquicia, siendo esta estrenada el 23 de julio de 1988.

Contando con la dirección de Shigeyasu Yamauchi y el guion por parte de Yoshiyuki Suga y la música de Seiji Yokoyama, el estudio de animación encargado es Toei animation.

In this film, Abel, god of the sun and brother of the reincarnation of Athena Saori, appears, he is looking for his sister because he warns him that the Greek gods, tired of humanity, want to reclaim the earth and therefore will cause a great flood, Before this premise eh invitation to Saori suddenly his Bronze Saints, interrupt the occasion and it is from the actions and decisions that will be unraveled at this point, in which the plot will gradually be immersed in conflicts and battles to rescue Saori and humanity as such.

En esta película hace acto de presencia Abel dios del sol y hermano de la reencarnación de Atenea Saori, el busca a su hermana ya que le advierte que los dioses griegos cansados de la humanidad desean reclamar la tierra y por consiguiente causaran un gran diluvio, ante esta premisa eh invitación a Saori repentinamente sus santos de Bronce, interrumpen la ocasión y es a partir de las acciones y decisiones que se desenlazaran en este punto, en que la trama gradualmente se verá inmersa en conflictos y batallas para rescatar a Saori y la humanidad como tal.

As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, the movie in general I did not like the truth so much, I assume it is because of the designs of the villains on duty, or because of the pathetic situation in which Saori gets involved to end up the same or worse, that is to say receiving help from her bronze saints to defeat the villain on duty and be able to save her, and look this stance was seen before in the previous reviews I did and I let it go, because well at the time I assume that this was the most shocking plus the magic of saint seiya is derived in this, since all that responsibility fell on our bronze saints, but mainly Seiya to give them more weight and demonstrate what it means in essence to be a saint of Athena, but at this point certainly especially with this film is monotonous to see, however and these are the exceptions of which I mean, although there were certainly more than interesting battles and very striking skills I will not deny that in this aspect is very good, the participation of some golden knights mainly those who were reborn if I liked a little, some more than others since each one in particular had to solve pending issues with one or another bronze knight, but in general and in their own way each one showed an aspect that I liked a lot mainly the Gemini knight Saga with Seiya, and now let's go part by part breaking down this movie.

The animation at this point and in several aspects has improved a little more, this can be noticed in the environment as such that consolidates and surrounds the plot really is something very nice to see, you can see that they have put a little more effort in that aspect, as well as certainly in the fighting and techniques is something that really in my opinion has a little more detail and above all care, but certainly being recognized that origin and elaboration of the times of the 80s or retro style, and despite this if it has improved just a little more, especially in combat scenes there are several in particular that I will like a lot, certainly in terms of plot and repetitive Saori's posture bores me a lot, but one of those segments that made this had more weight linked to the animation are obviously the fights and some moments when getting back up in combat and in the plot or the use of the golden armor, really for me if they were worth it, but sadly I strongly overshadowed by the negative factors that I mentioned above.

In relation to the plot, I do not want to sound so repetitive so I'll be simple and quick, the plot bored me except for several moments that made a certain way, it was worth watching the movie because if compared to the other films in this franchise that I reviewed, this is a little longer, as it incorporates other elements such as the incorporation of the golden knights even the fallen in combat in the series, and their personal issues with each bronze saint, which in my opinion at this point if I liked enough, some more than others but in general terms in these characters I have no complaints, beyond the monotonous that was the movie under the main plot that Saoria and the villain on duty that basically is a very powerful god and represents the sun, so that in the end Seiya obviously by the power of the script stands out in a huge way with the principle of the power system of the cosmos to be a human, well trained human but certainly human and defeat said god, which coincidentally was much stronger than the ancient villains with whom he fought and even the gods of Olympus themselves feared him a little.

In relation to the music well I will never have complaints about this aspect, as always a wonderful composition in every battle or after these same, as well as in general terms is an aspect that is very worth rescuing, and personally to date I have always liked some songs or melodies more than others, but I have never generated any dislike in particular and in relation to the setting as it covers the aspects as you know Greek as far as it fits and here especially, mention is made of some gods of the same pantheon and a new god will be introduced as the villain on duty. And this concludes the review of this film, which if it is entertaining at certain points, and at those points is worthwhile but in general by the monotonous plot I was a little disappointed, as always thanks for reading and get here, without more to say until next time.

Como mencione al comienzo de este post, la película en general no me gusto tanto la verdad, asumo que es por los diseños de los villanos de turno, o por la patética situación en la que Saori se involucra para terminar igual o peor, es decir recibir ayuda de sus santos de bronce para derrotar al villano de turno y poder salvarla, y miren esta postura se vio anteriormente en las anteriores reseñas que hice y lo deje pasar, porque bueno en su momento asumo yo que esto era lo más impactante además de que la magia de saint seiya se deriva en esto, ya que toda esa responsabilidad recaía en nuestros santos de bronce, pero principalmente Seiya para darles más peso y demostrar lo que significa en esencia ser un santo de Atena, pero a estas alturas ciertamente en especial con esta película es monótono de ver, sin embargo y estas son las excepciones de las cuales me refiero, pese a que ciertamente hubieron batallas más que interesantes y habilidades muy llamativas no lo negare en este aspecto es muy bueno, la participación de algunos caballeros dorados principalmente aquellos que renacieron si me gusto un poco, unos más que otros ya que cada uno en particular tenía que solventar asuntos pendientes con alguno que otro caballero de bronce, pero en general y a su manera cada uno mostro un aspecto que me gusto bastante principalmente el caballero de géminis Saga con Seiya, y ahora pasemos parte por parte desglosando esta película.

La animación en este punto y en varios aspectos a mejorado un poco más, esto se puede notar en el ambiente como tal que consolida y envuelve la trama realmente es algo muy bonito de ver, se nota que le han puesto un poco mas de empeño en ese aspecto, así como ciertamente en los combates y las técnicas es algo que realmente a mi parecer tiene un poco mas de detalle y sobre todo cuidado, pero ciertamente siendo reconocida esa procedencia y elaboración de los tiempos de los 80 o estilo retro, y a pesar de ello si ha mejorado solo un poco mas, en especial en escenas de combate hay varias en particular que me gustaran mucho, ciertamente en términos de trama y la postura de Saori repetitiva me aburre mucho, pero uno de esos segmentos que hizo que esto tuviera más peso ligado a la animación son los combates obviamente y algunos momentos al volver a levantarse en el combate y en la trama o el uso de las armaduras doradas, realmente para mi si valieron la pena, pero tristemente se me fuertemente opacado por los factores negativos que ya mencione anteriormente.

Con relación a la trama, no quiero sonar tan repetitivo así que seré simple y rápido, la trama me aburrió salvo por varios momentos que hicieron que de cierta manera, valiera la pena el ver la película ya que si en comparación a las otras películas de esta franquicia que reseñe, esta es un poco mas larga, ya que incorpora otros elementos como la incorporacion de los caballeros de oro incluso los caídos en combate en la serie, y sus asuntos personales con cada santo de bronce, que a mi parecer en este punto si me gusto bastante, unos más que otros pero en términos generales en estos personajes no tengo ninguna queja, más allá de lo monótono que fue la película bajo la trama principal que Saoria y el villano de turno que básicamente es un dios muy poderoso y representa el sol, para que al final Seiya obviamente por el poder del guion destaque de forma descomunal con el principio del sistema de poder del cosmos para ser un humano, humano bien entrenado pero ciertamente humano y vencer a dicho dios, que casualmente era mucho más fuerte que los antiguos villanos con los que luchoy hasta los mismos dioses del Olimpo le temían un poco.

Con relación a la música bueno nunca tendré quejas sobre este aspecto, como siempre una composición maravillosa en cada batalla o después de estas mismas, así como en términos generales es un aspecto que vale mucho la pena rescatar, y en lo personal hasta la fecha siempre me ha gustado unas canciones o melodías mas que otras, pero nunca me han generado algún disgusto en particular y con relación a la ambientación pues cubre los aspectos como ya se sabe griegos dentro de lo que cabe y aquí en especial ,se hace mención de algunos dioses del mismo panteón y se introducirá un nuevo dios siendo el villano de turno. Y con esto concluye la reseña de esta película, que si es entretenida en ciertos puntos, y en dichos puntos vale la pena pero en general por la trama monótona me decepciono un poco, como siempre gracias por leer y llegar hasta aquí, sin más que decir hasta la próxima.
