The Owl House: An interesting and more than entertaining plot (2020) Review [Eng - Esp]

When I saw some time ago, the certainly somewhat positive receptivity that several viewers had for this series, when it began to be broadcast I called my attention slightly and half-heartedly, although the theme of what can be managed as magic and its concept either in another world or in different areas, is something that has been present several times in our society and culture due to several novels, movies, series and even video games is already a theme which has certainly become recurrent, and it continues to be so nowadays, and due to the fact that this phenomenon is so popularized, my interest was minimal and even with all that I gave it a chance more than anything to see if at least in the background, or how things unfold in terms of narrative have weight and the truth is that curiously it does, I was really impressed with how they handled some points, both emotionally and in self-improvement and malice.

At the time I finished watching the first 2 seasons, and I waited for the third and last one to come out, and now that all the chapters are out and the series is finished, I feel fulfilled at this point and now I have a better basis to talk about everything I saw and felt or I got to transmit, because although the concept of magic is handled, I liked how several things were integrated into the series, I liked how several things were integrated, especially the most detestable and questionable aspects within the human psyche, (because here the most interesting actions will come from the least expected creatures or species), and I think this is one of the points that I liked the most but I will address that later, so this time I bring you the series of The Owl House.

Cuando vi hace un tiempo atrás, la receptividad ciertamente algo positiva que tenían varios espectadores por esta serie, cuando comenzó a emitirse llamo ligeramente y a medias mi atención, aunque el tema de lo que se puede llegar a manejar como la magia y su concepto ya sea en otro mundo o en zonas diferentes, es algo que ha estado presente varias veces en nuestra sociedad y cultura debido a varias novelas, películas, series eh incluso videojuegos ya es un tema el cual se ha vuelto ciertamente recurrente, y aun lo sigue siendo actualmente cosa de la cual y debido a como este fenómeno, esta tan popularizado hizo que me interés haya sido mínimo y aun con todo eso le di una oportunidad más que nada para ver si al menos en el trasfondo, o como se desenvuelven las cosas en términos de narrativa tienen peso y la verdad es que curiosamente si lo tiene, realmente me impresiono un poco como manejaron algunos puntos, tanto a nivel emocional como en auto superación y malicia.

En su momento concluí de ver las 2 primeras temporadas, y espere a que saliera la tercera y ultima y ya al salir todos sus capítulos y por ende finiquitar la serie, me siento realizado en este punto y tengo ahora una mejor base para hablar como es debido, de todo lo que vi y sentí o me llego a transmitir ya que aunque se maneja el concepto de la magia, me gusto como se integraron varias cosas en especial los aspectos mas detestables y cuestionables dentro de la psique humana, (porque aquí las acciones más interesantes vendrán por parte de las criaturas o especies menos esperadas), y creo que este es uno de los puntos que más me gusto pero abordare sobre eso más adelante, así que esta vez les traigo la serie de The Owl House.

The Owl House, is considered an animated fantasy television series, originally from the United States which was created by Dana Terrase, premiering on Disney Channel on January 10, 2020 and ending on April 8, 2023, with a total of 3 seasons and 43 chapters in total. Such series has also become a representative media for the LGBT community, with certain interactions and varied relationships (without being presented in a forced or uncomfortable way).

The Owl House, viene siendo considerada como una serie de televisión de fantasía animada, originaria de Estados Unidos la cual fue creada por Dana Terrase, llegándose a estrenar en Disney Channel el 10 de enero del 2020 y finalizado el 8 de abril del 2023, contando con un total de 3 temporadas y 43 capítulos en total. Tal serie también se ha convertido en un medio representativo ante la comunidad LGBT, con ciertas interacciones y relaciones variadas (sin llegar a presentarse de manera forzada o incomodas)

The series focuses on the life of Luz Noceda, a young teenager with an extroverted character, quite creative and kind, due to her behavior at school and her peculiar personality, it is difficult for her to fit in with others, therefore her mother proposes to take her to a camp for a change and change of environment, but due to certain circumstances, she ends up in a different place or world where several creatures live, and the use of magic is handled in a certainly dangerous environment and it is from here that Luz's life will change when she ventures with a powerful sorceress named Eda.

La serie se centra en la vida de Luz Noceda, una joven adolecente de carácter extrovertido, bastante creativo y amable, debido a su conducta en su escuela y su personalidad peculiar, a esta le cuesta encajar con otros, por consiguiente su madre le propone llevarla a un campamento para variar y cambiar de ambiente, pero por ciertas circunstancias, esta termina en lugar o mundo diferente en el cual habitan varias criaturas, y se maneja el uso de la magia en un ambiente ciertamente peligroso y es a partir de aquí que la vida de Luz cambiara llegándose aventurar con una poderosa hechicera llamada Eda.

Very well, leaving aside for the moment the aspect of magic which, I know that covers much of the work in its entirety, as it is the narrative concept in which the plot develops there are other elements of which, personally I really liked how they came to develop, certainly I can not give full detail each of them because it would lengthen the review, and also bring unnecessary spoilers and is something I do not want, but if I can get to mention that, personally to me some of these points seemed very good, because even though it is a series for all audiences oriented to young people, it doesn't stop showing messages and points that narratively speaking and symbolically are worth a lot, and the point is that you get to address issues such as knowing how to be yourself (self-discovery), support as a family, dealing with naivety, death, adaptability and ignorance, death, adaptability and mistrust and above all the extrapolation of love both for oneself and for others in a healthy way, the thing is that any series can address these points, but the difference is how it gets to be done and presented and here, I feel it was done in a generally acceptable way.

Each of these points is mentioned and addressed in several characters in their own way, through the main character Luz is certainly a gratifying growth, although the character with whom I felt most identified is Ammity and I ended up being much more impressed than I thought, since at the beginning she seemed a stereotypical character of a bad person, but the truth is that the matter ended up being more complex than it seemed, and this type of situation will be reflected in a different way in other characters more than anything as a source or means of development in the plot, despite that it balances very well with the background of the series which takes a darker and questionable tinge, and on this other side of that point presents negative aspects and despots that I really liked how they were handled.

I know that the concept of magic here along with the elements mentioned above, makes it certainly gives it an interesting weight, since the way it is used turns out to be at best from my point of view, something varied more than anything in aspects such as symbology, sacrifice and how the world is constituted, with the latter was what I liked most in terms of plot, which I will not specify much to avoid spoilers. In short, the first season tends to be somewhat slow at several points but gradually gains weight little by little you just have to be patient and enjoy how we are shown this new world, and the second and third season takes a more accelerated and strong in the background of some characters and what happens around such a world and the source of magic, etc..

With respect to the animation is not bad, really enjoys a comfortable animation with an acceptable fluidity at best, certainly as the seasons pass this point improved increasingly, as happened in the last season and the climax of the final situation that addressed many of our main characters, it is not visually uncomfortable in general and is more than acceptable here I have no complaints.

The plot shows us on the part of the protagonist Luz, the typical concept of the hero's path in its entirety, she enters an unknown world in which she is immersed before the primal source of power that resides there, she is tutored by a great sorceress and as the plot progresses she develops with others, while trying to overcome herself but as simple as it may seem, these elements here are not empty and are curiously well presented both in the development of various characters, the individual charisma of each, personal reasons why they follow a path or do what they do and above all the way in which they present strong and questionable situations at various points which made me hooked.

And with this ends today's review, personally if you are looking for an entertaining series that has several elements and values with a lot of weight, I recommend this series and considering that Disney has a bad habit of canceling series in a premeditated way even though they are receptive to the public because this is worth it despite some managers wanted to rush the end, both this and another but I'll talk about that other when I give it a chance and see it, thanks for coming here and without more to say until next time.

Muy bien, dejando de lado por los momentos el aspecto de la magia la cual, se que abarba gran parte de la obra en toda su totalidad, ya que viene siendo el concepto narrativo en el cual se desarrolla la trama hay otros elementos de los cuales, en lo personal me gustaron mucho como se llegaron a desenvolver, ciertamente no puedo darles a total detalle cada uno de ellos porque alargaría de mas la reseña, y también traería spoilers innecesarios y es algo que no quiero, pero si puedo llegar a mencionar que, en lo personal a mi algunos de estos puntos me parecieron muy buenos, ya que a pesar de que sea una serie para todo público orientado para jóvenes no deja de mostrar mensajes y puntos que narrativamente hablando y simbólicamente valen mucho, y la cuestión es que se llegaron abordar temas como el saber ser ti mismo (autodescubrimiento), el apoyo como familia, lidiar con la ingenuidad, la muerte, adaptabilidad y la desconfianza y sobre todo la extrapolación del amor tanto para uno mismo como para los demás de una forma sana, la cosa es que cualquier serie puede abordar estos puntos, pero la diferencia es como se llega hacer y presentar y aquí, siento que se hizo de una forma aceptable en general.

Cada uno de dichos puntos se menciona y aborda en varios personajes a su manera, por medio de la protagonista Luz se ve de por medio un crecimiento ciertamente gratificante, aunque el personaje con el que más me sentí identificado es Ammity y me termino impresionando mucho más de lo que creí, ya que al comienzo parresia un personaje estereotípico de persona mala, pero la verdad es que el asunto termino siendo mas complejo de lo que parecía, y este tipo de situaciones se verá reflejado de manera, diferente en otros personajes más que nada como fuente o medio de desarrollo en la trama, a pesar de eso se equilibra muy bien con el trasfondo de la serie el cual toma un tinte mas oscuro y cuestionable, y en este otro lado de ese punto se presenta aspectos negativos y déspotas que me gusto mucho como se llegaron a manejar.

Sé que el concepto de la magia aquí junto a los elementos que mencione anteriormente, hace que se le dé un peso ciertamente interesante, ya que la forma en cómo se emplea resulta ser a lo mucho desde mi punto de vista, algo variado más que nada en aspectos como la simbología, el sacrifico y en cómo está constituido dicho mundo, con estos ultimo fue lo que más me gusto en nivel de trama la verdad, cosa de la cual no especificare mucho para evitar spoilers. En resumidas cuentas la primera temporada tiende a ser algo lenta en varios puntos pero paulatinamente cobra peso de a poco solo se tendría que tener paciencia y disfrutar el cómo se nos muestra este nuevo mundo, ya la segunda y tercera temporada toma un tinte más acelerado y fuerte en el trasfondo de algunos personajes y por lo que pasa alrededor de tal mundo y la fuente de la magia, etc.

Con respeto a la animación no está nada mal, realmente goza de una animación cómoda con una fluidez aceptable a lo mucho, ciertamente a medida de que las temporadas pasan este punto mejoraba crecientemente, como paso en la última temporada y el clímax de la situación final que abordaron muchos de nuestros personajes principales, no resulta incomodo visualmente en general y esta mas que aceptable aquí no tengo ninguna queja.

La trama nos muestra por parte de la protagonista Luz, el tipio concepto del camino del héroe en su totalidad, se adentra a un mundo desconocido en el cual se ve inmersa ante la fuente primigenia de poder que reside hay, tiene tutela por parte de una gran hechicera y a medida de que la trama avanza esta se desarrolla con otros, mientras intenta superarse pero por simple que parezca, estos elementos aquí no están vacios y están curiosamente bien presentados tanto en el desarrollo de varios personajes, el carisma individual de cada uno, razones personales por las cuales siguen un camino o hacen lo que hacen y sobretodo la forma en cómo presentan situaciones fuertes y cuestionables en varios puntos lo cual hizo que me enganchara.

Y con esto termina la reseña del día de hoy, en lo personal si buscan una serie entretenida que tiene varios elementos y valores con mucho peso, les recomiendo esta serie y considerando que Disney tiene una mala costumbre con cancelar series de manera premeditada a pesar de que son receptivas ante en público pues esta vale la pena a pesar de algunos directivos querían apresurar mucho el final, tanto esta como otra pero ya hablare sobre esa otra cuando le dé una oportunidad y la vea, gracias por llegar hasta aquí y sin más que decir hasta la próxima.
