I'm not usually a person who is in favor of going to theaters much, the truth is that I'm lazy to go alone and it does not call my attention, certainly there was a time when I enjoyed this a lot, but at this point not so much at least and only unless I go with a group of friends, which I estimate enough and so it was the case yesterday, in which my closest friends invited me to go see the Super Mario Brothers movie, movie which I wanted to see but I was thinking about doing it much later, so you will see my surprise when they invited me, I was not expecting the truth and being a person, who like others grew up and enjoyed his childhood with the classic Mario games and others linked to the franchise, I had a degree of expectations with it, as I saw through various networks that this was very well received by the public, despite the centralized criticism of pages like "rotten tomatoes" and the truth is that most of the public has every reason to like it but mainly the players and the fandom.

At the end of watching it, let me tell you that I loved it, I really liked it a lot, there are so many elements that reminded me of my childhood that I could easily differentiate, and others that not so much in more open areas, it is a film aimed exclusively at fans and it is a beauty accompanied by elements such as a good animation, the soundtracks were beautiful and the use of various shades of songs recognized both in the field of the Mario franchise and other musical bands, the plot as simple as it was beautiful, but I will address part by part these points in due course so this time I bring you the Super Mario Brothers movie.

Yo no suelo ser una persona que sea partidaria de ir mucho a los cines, la verdad es que me da pereza ir solo y no me llama la atención, ciertamente hubo una época en la cual disfrutaba mucho esto, pero a estas alturas no tanto al menos y solo al menos que valla con un grupo de amigos, los cuales estime bastante y así fue el caso del día de ayer, en el cual mis amigos mas cercanos me invitaron para ir a ver la película de Súper Mario Brothers, película la cual tenía ganas de ver pero me mentalizaba en hacerlo mucho después, así que ya verán mi sorpresa cuando me invitaron no me lo esperaba la verdad y al ser una persona, que como otras creció y disfruto de su infancia con los juegos clásicos de Mario y otros vinculados a la franquicia, tenía una grado de expectativas con ello, ya que vi por medio de diversas redes que esta era muy bien recibida por parte del público, a pesar de la critica centralizada de paginas como “rotten tomates” y la verdad es que la mayoría del público tiene toda la razón en gustarle pero principalmente los jugadores y el fandom.

Al culminar de verla, pues déjenme decirles que me encanto, la verdaderamente gusto mucho, hay tantos elementos que me recordaron a mi infancia que pude llegar a diferenciar fácilmente, y otros que no tanto en ámbitos mas abiertos, es una película dirigía exclusivamente a los fans y es una belleza acompañado de elementos como una buena animación, las bandas sonoras fueron bellas y el uso de varias tonalidades de canciones reconocidas tanto en el ámbito de la franquicia de Mario como otras bandas musicales, la trama por simple que haya sido fue hermosa, pero ya abordare parte por parte estos puntos en su momento así que esta vez les traigo la película de Súper Mario Brothers.

Super Mario Bros: The Movie, is being considered as a computer animated movie, originally from the United States (and Japan in collaboration) which was produced by Illumination in collaboration and association with Nintendo and came to be distributed by Universal pictures, such movie is being considered as the third, in terms of film adaptations the last two previous ones were, Super Mario Bros: the great mission to rescue Princess Peache and the live action movie of 1993 with the title of Super Mario.

Such movie arrived in theaters this 2023 and exactly for April 5 with a running time of 1 and 30 minutes.

Súper Mario Bros: The Movie, viene siendo considerada como una película con animación a computadora, originaria de estados unidos(y Japón en colaboración) la cual fue producida por Illumination en colaboración y asociación con Nintendo y llegada a ser distribuida por Universal pictures, tal película viene siendo considerada como la tercera, en términos de adaptaciones cinematográficas las dos últimas anteriores fueron, Súper Mario Bros: la gran misión para rescatar a la princesa Peache y la película de acción en vivo de la época de 1993 con el titulo de Súper Mario.

Tal película llego a los cines este 2023 y exactamente para el 5 de abril contando con un tiempo de duración de una 1 y 30 minutos.

The plot focuses on two professional brothers in the area of plumbing Mario and Luigi, which try to be recognized little by little in the neighborhood of Brooklyn, but for certain situations of the plot their lives will change when both will be transported to a magical and different worlds, in which they will be involved in a series of events quite strong which will force our protagonists but mainly Mario to rescue his brother and save the new world where they are.

La trama se centra en dos hermanos profesionales en el área de la plomería Mario y Luigi, los cuales intentan ser reconocidos de a poco en el barrio de Brooklyn, pero por ciertas situaciones de la trama su vida cambiara cuando ambos se verán transportados a unos mundos mágicos y diferentes, en los cuales se verán inmiscuidos en una serie de eventos bastante fuertes los cuales orillaran a nuestros protagonistas pero principalmente a Mario en rescatar a su hermano y salvar el nuevo mundo en donde están.

Beyond the visual point which certainly is very striking, because really if they took great care in the aspect of lighting and animation, the main and strongest focus that covers this film and as I mentioned in the introduction, and you can see reflected in the title of this review, is that it is a love letter to the players and is beautiful from beginning to end are involved a variety and quantity of references, all kinds of variants and games related to Mario really enjoy a lot with my friends to see so many characters, scenes, movements, skills and use of the same accompanied by a very recognizable sound weight belonging to the same games themselves, was carried for my taste in a more than acceptable way, with this I do not mean to say at all that it is not a movie that can not enjoy other people of which are not so deep into the Mario franchise on the contrary, since the plot is very simple and enjoyable and perhaps it can arouse the feeling of curiosity in some.

Of course, I must say that there are a lot of references linked to so many games that maybe you will get lost, or you will not recognize quickly (because it happened to me) at most, although in simple terms and in essence you will understand in its totality what happens since as I mentioned, it is a plot certainly simple to understand and I liked quite a lot how it was carried, as well as the interactions that Mario has and his personality with Luigi gives it a great weight, that is to say that they have a good synergy and in essence the love of brothers is noticed, besides I'm glad that they gave a strong personality to Princess Peach since in most of the Mario games she was certainly a somewhat flat person and the interpretation of Bowser in many ways seemed intimidating to me, although you can see a more vulnerable side of him.

As I mentioned repeatedly the plot or narrative here is handled in a very simplistic way, and it's not a bad thing at all, since the Mario games themselves don't tend to have such a significantly deep or super complicated background, at least in lore, by God no, they are not the Zelda games for example in which their chronology is very complex, in this case I feel that a great job was done, we are shown a great essence on the part of most of our characters, we can see in a more intimate way in several points how Mario feels as a character and his brother with his insecurities or the princess which carries a responsibility to take care of his kingdom, and Bowser to have different intentions to those that one at first instance can get to confuse, all these elements within the plot I feel that give a more symbolic weight build the characters in a better way and make us feel identified in a certain way, I liked it.

Now with the section of the animation and obviously the music, I can say that they did a beautiful job, they put a lot of effort in these aspects, the animation is up to par in every way I have no complaints, it shows a dynamism and play of vivid colors in several ways, now if we go to the point of the music they really did a great job involving songs so recognized from several games of the franchise certainly modified in some aspects but in essence are those, here the mansion of Bowser is very catchy and you will see what I mean when you give it a chance haha.

To culminate, I want to say that you should give the movie a chance and don't pay any attention to this kind of review sites or media directed by a small selective group of pseudo critics, the movie has a simple direction and a projected intention for the fans the studios don't need to expand the audience, just respect their fandom and audience and that's fine, for me it is, let's hope that with the good reception this movie had by the audience they will encourage another movie of this kind or who knows other emblematic videogames like maybe Zelda or Metroid, can you imagine? Más allá del punto visual el cual ciertamente es muy llamativo, porque realmente si se esmeraron bastante en el aspecto de la iluminación y animación, el foco principal y más fuerte que abarca esta película y como ya mencione en la introducción, y pueden ver reflejado en el titulo de esta reseña, es que es una carta de amor para los jugadores y es bellísimo de principio a fin se ven inmiscuido una gran variedad y cantidad de referencias, de todo tipo de variantes y juegos vinculados con Mario realmente disfrute mucho con mis amigos el ver tantos personajes, escenas, movimientos, habilidades y uso de las mismas acompañados de un peso sonoro muy reconocible perteneciente de los mismos juegos en sí, fue llevado para mi gusto de una manera más que aceptable, con esto no quiero llegar a decir del todo que no es una película que no podrán disfrutar otras personas de las cuales no estén tan adentradas a la franquicia de Mario al contrario, ya que la trama es muy simple y disfrutable y quizás pueda llegar a despertar el sentimiento de curiosidad en algunos.

Eso sí, debo decir que hay una cantidad de referencias vinculadas a tantos juegos que quizás se perderán, o no reconocerán rápidamente (porque me paso) a lo mucho, aunque en términos simples y en esencia entenderán en su totalidad que ocurre ya que como mencione, es una trama ciertamente simple de entender y me gusto bastante como se llevo, así como las interacciones que lleva Mario y su personalidad junto a Luigi le da un gran peso es decir que tienen una buena sinergia y esencia se nota el amor de hermanos, además que me alegro que le dieran una personalidad fuerte a la princesa Peach ya que en gran parte de los juegos de Mario era un persona ciertamente algo plano y la interpretación de Bowser en muchos sentidos me pareció intimidante, aunque se puede ver un lado más vulnerable de él.

Como bien ya mencione repetidas veces la trama o la narrativa aquí se maneja de una forma muy simplista, y no es algo malo del todo, ya que los juegos de por si en Mario tampoco tienden a tener un trasfondo tan significativamente profundo o súper complicado al menos en lore por dios no, no son los juegos de Zelda por ejemplo en la cual su cronología es muy compleja, en este caso siento que se hizo un gran trabajo, se nos muestra una gran esencia por parte de la mayoría de nuestros personajes, podemos ver de forma más intima en varios puntos el cómo se siente Mario como personaje y su hermano con sus inseguridades o la princesa la cual lleva una responsabilidad al cuidar de su reino, y Bowser al tener intensiones diferentes a las que uno a primera instancia puede llegar a confundir, todos estos elementos dentro de la trama siento que le dan un peso más simbólico construyen a los personajes de una mejor manera y hacen que nos sintamos identificados de cierta forma, me gusto la verdad.

Ahora con el apartado de la animación y obviamente la música, puedo llegar a decir que hicieron un hermoso trabajo, se esforzaron muchísimo en estos aspectos, la animación esta a la altura en todo sentido no tengo ninguna queja se muestra un dinamismo y juego de colores vividos en varios sentidos, ahora si nos vamos al punto de la música realmente se hizo un gran trabajo involucrando canciones tan reconocidas de varios juegos de la franquicia ciertamente modificados en algunos aspectos pero en esencia son esos, aquí la mansión de Bowser es muy pegadiza ya verán a lo que me refiero cuando le den una oportunidad jaja.

Para culminar, quiero decir que deberían darle una oportunidad a la película y que no le hagan del todo caso a este tipo de paginas o medios de reseña dirigidos por un pequeño grupo selectivo de pesudo críticos, la película tiene una dirección simple y una intensión proyectaba para los fanáticos los estudios no necesitan expandir la audiencia, solo respetar su fandom y publico y eso está bien, para mí lo está esperemos que con la buena recepción que tuvo esta peli por la audiencia se animen a otra peli de esta índole o quien sabe otros videojuegos emblemáticos como quizás Zelda o Metroid, ¿se imaginan?
