Xiaolin Showdown: A simple concept, but well executed (2003) Review [Eng - Esp]

Well, it really feels great to get to have a break, I'm almost finished this semester at the university, and for now I'm somewhat free of subjects, jobs and classes and I want to take the opportunity to not only rest and recover my sleep schedule hahaha, but also to return to review movies, series and touch other topics that I would like to share in other communities, but well the truth recently I haven't seen anything, absolutely nothing however, the series of which I will speak to you next I saw it a long time ago when I was a teenager or pre teenager, the best time for me in terms of animated series or movies was that time, when I consumed television content very but very often on channels like Cartoon Network for example at that time or Disney Channel at that time too.

The series of which I will talk about today was broadcasted at the time by the Cartoon Network television channel which I loved as well as many others, although this one had a particular charm and a very well executed idea, I mean Duel Xiaolin, it was a series that had such good ideas well executed and at the same time it was quite entertaining, well at least at the time, the first series of this kind for me was the best since long after, I found out that they did a redesign or continuation but I did not like it at all and I think it was executed in an insipid way in my opinion, but back to the main topic today I will talk about this great series and why for me it was the best at the time.

Bueno, reamente se siente muy bien el llegar a tener un descanso, me falta poco para terminar este semestre en la universidad, y por ahora estoy algo libre de asignaturas, trabajos y clases y quiero aprovechar para no solo descansar y recuperar mi horario de sueno jajaja, si no para también volver reseñar películas, series y tocar otros temas que me gustaría compartir, en otras comunidades, pero bueno la verdad recientemente no eh visto nada, absolutamente nada sin embargo, la serie de la cual les hablare a continuación la vi hace mucho tiempo atrás cuando era adolescente o pre adolescente, la mejor época para mí en cuanto a temas de series animadas o películas se tratasen era esa época, cuando consumía un contenido televisivo muy pero muy seguido en canales como Cartoon Network por ejemplo en aquel entonces o Disney Channel de aquel entonces también.

La serie de la cual les hablare hoy emitida en su momento por parte del canal televisivo Cartoon Network de la cual me encantaba así como muchas otras, aunque esta tenía un encanto particular y una idea muy bien ejecutada, me refiero a Duelo Xiaolin, era una serie que tenía tan buenas ideas bien ejecutadas y a su vez era bastante entretenida, bueno al menos en su momento, la primera serie de esta índole para mi fue la mejor ya que mucho tiempo después, me entere que le hicieron un rediseño o continuación pero no me gusto para nada y creo que se ejecuto de una manera insípida a mi parecer, pero volviendo al tema principal hoy les hablaré de esta gran serie y el porqué para mí era lo mejor en su momento.

Xiaolin Showdown is considered an American animated series created by Christy Hui, debuting first in Kids wb, which is a programming block of Warner Brothers, for the first of November 2003, when its first episode was broadcasted in the United States, later it was broadcasted in channels such as Cartoon Network in the rest of the world. The series has a total of 3 seasons and 52 episodes in total, each one lasting 22 minutes.

Xiaolin Showdown viene siendo considerada como una serie animada estadounidense creada por Christy Hui, llegando a debutar primero en Kids wb, el cual viene siendo un bloque de programación de la Warner Brothers, para el primero de noviembre del 2003 llegando a emitirse su primer episodio en los estados unidos, mas adelante esta llego a emitirse en canales como Cartoon Network en el resto del mundo. La serie cuenta con un total de 3 temporadas y 52 episodios en total, llegando a tener una duración de 22 minutos cada uno.

The plot focuses on the life of 4 young monks, chosen by a Xiaolin master named Fung, the 4 boys will develop and go through various tests with the intention of reaching the degree of Xiaolin dragons, and in addition to this they have the heavy and main responsibility to collect or search for the Shen Gong Wu (mystical artifacts of great power) as these artifacts can not be in the possession of anyone, however their efforts will be put to the test, when they face evil figures, which have the malicious intention of using them for their personal and selfish benefits.

La trama se centra en la vida de 4 jóvenes monjes, escogidos por un maestro Xiaolin llamado Fung, los 4 chicos se desenvolverán y pasaran por diversas pruebas con la intensión de llegar al grado de dragones Xiaolin, y además de ello tienen la pesada y principal responsabilidad de recopilar o buscar los Shen Gong Wu (artefactos místicos de gran poder) ya que dichos artefactos no pueden estar en posesión de cualquier persona, sin embargo sus esfuerzos se verán puesto a prueba, cuando enfrenten figuras malignas, las cuales tienen la maliciosa intensión de usarlos para sus beneficios personales y egoístas.

From my point of view, the best period of animation and works presented by the companies kartoon netrowkr, Disney Channel, Wb, Nickelodeaon, etc was from the time of 2000 until the beginning of 2015 or 2013, clearly after that date could place an exception in some visual works but would be very few the truth, since currently the contention that is made for me as a viewer is very mediocre the truth and even repetitive, but leaving that aside this series called Duel Xiaolin, is one of those series that at the time in the era of 2000, to be more specific 2003 onwards, I remember that I saw with great affection because I found it very entertaining, as it had a great charm and personality in several aspects, being present certain elements that for me made it unique despite being simplistic as far as it goes.

One of the things that I personally liked about this series, are the elements that make it special, that is to say the idea or the concept of creating these gadgets that have a unique power each one of them, and allows the user to take advantage of them, is one of the things that most caught my attention because both in ability and design they look very good, and some have a better execution than others in the series, I am referring to the "wu" in this world, and the way in which the battles to obtain them are carried to kava I also liked, coming to show a variety of scenarios depending on the combat and the demands of the opponents, making each encounter unique and varied at least in the scenario or environment in which such combat is carried out, coming to demonstrate the potential of these artifacts.

However, and although I like the combats, and the variety of artifacts show very interesting skills and design in some for me look better than others, the plot tends to be quite repetitive following the same formula in which an artifact is found then seek it and the enemy on duty fight with the protagonists because they want to do evil, and use for personal benefit such artifacts of great power, although there comes a point in the plot in which the characters have some development or meddles in the middle of time travel and the concept of it, but you have to be patient to get to that point, what I can tell you is that it is somewhat slow but it shows a not so bad development, especially by a young warrior.

The series enjoys a very simplistic visual section both in colors and design in general, although there are some designs in the characters that are quite striking, and this simplicity is not being something entirely bad the truth, because it does not look bad to me. I feel it is a series that is worth giving a chance, maybe it is a little outdated in some jokes so to speak, as it has a somewhat particular humor or outdated to these times, but otherwise it has a simplistic and interesting plot with a striking and entertaining overall development with charismatic characters both on the side of the protagonists and the antagonists and villains. Desde mi punto de vista, la mejor época de animación y trabajos presentados tanto por la empresas de kartoon netrowkr, Disney Channel, Wb, Nickelodeaon, etc fue desde la época del 2000 hasta entrados del 2015 o 2013, claramente después de esa fecha podría colocar una excepción en algunos trabajos visuales pero serian muy pocos la verdad, ya que actualmente el contendió que se hace para mí como espectador es muy mediocre la verdad y hasta repetitivo, pero dejando eso de lado esta serie llamada Duelo Xiaolin, es una de esas series que en su momento en la época de los 2000, para ser mas específicos 2003 en adelante, recuerdo que vi con mucho cariño porque me resulto muy entretenida, ya que tenía un gran encanto y personalidad en varios aspectos, estando presente ciertos elementos que para mí la hicieron única a pesar de ser simplista dentro de lo que cabe.

Una de las cosas de las cuales en lo personal me gusto de esta serie, son los elementos que hacen especial a la misma, es decir la idea o el concepto de llegar a plasmar estos artilugios que poseen un poder único cada uno de ellos, y le permite al usuario sacarle provecho, es una de las cosas que mas me llamo la atención porque tanto en habilidad como en diseño se ven muy bien, y algunos tienen una ejecución mejor que otra en la serie, así es me refiero a los "wu" en este mundo, y la forma en cómo se llevan a kava las batallas para obtenerlos me gusto también, llegando a mostrar una variedad de escenarios dependiendo del combate y las demandas de los contrincantes, volviendo cada encuentro único y variado al menos en el escenario o ambiente en el que se lleva a cabo tal combate, llegándoles a demostrar el potencial de estos artefactos.

Sin embargo y a pesar de que los combates me gusten, y la variedad de artefactos muestre habilidades muy interesantes y en diseño unos para mi luzcan mejor que otros, la trama tiende a ser bastante repetitiva siguiendo la misma fórmula en la cual se halla un artefacto acto seguido lo buscan y el enemigo de turno lucha con los protagonistas porque quiere hacer el mal, y usar para beneficio personal tales artefactos de gran poder, aunque llega un punto en la trama en el que los personajes tienen cierto desarrollo o se inmiscuye de por medio los viajes en el tiempo y el concepto del mismo, pero hay que tener paciencia para llegar hasta ese punto, lo que si les puedo decir es que es algo lento pero si muestra un desarrollo no tan malo, en especial por parte de un joven guerrero.

La serie goza de un apartado visual muy simplista tanto en colores como en diseño en general, aunque hay algunos diseños en los personajes que son bastante llamativos, y esta simplicidad no viene siendo algo del todo mala la verdad, porque no se ve mal para mí. Siento que es una serie que vale la pena darle una oportunidad, quizás esta un poco desactualizada en algunos chistes por así decirlo, ya que tiene un humor algo particular o desactualizado a estos tiempos, pero por lo demás posee una trama simplista e interesante con un desarrollo general llamativo y entretenido con personajes carismáticos tanto del bando de los protagonistas como de los antagonistas y villanos.
