Breaking The Streotype - Dev DD (Indian Badass Girl)
Ever since the OTT platform has got popularity, Indian Cine viewer able to see many new kind of short movies and web series. New in sense that these platform doesn't run the orthodox melodrama series but Instead, bring many new concept and modern theme production, that is happening in real all around.
In line of these new modern theme series, I started watching DEV DD. The series is about an open minded spoiled 22 year girl.
You can't call her spoiled after considering many rich family kids already doin the same, but from the orthodox viewing experince, you may consider it to be spoilt girl. The series is set up in pink city of Jaipur, so you may get to see some fabulous location. This girl named Devika (Devika Dharam Dwidedi -Dev DD) is a modern girl who is ready to take upon the old stereotypes mentality of Indian society.
What considered to be Taboo in Indian societt, She is right there to break it with bang, like asking
Santary pads openly in chemist shop, or
buying all flavored condoms without any hesitation.
She is ready to kiss in public, and
- like to take upon her sisters groom by making him hump on wedding night
She smokes, she drinks... she gets horny with her friend....And many more such things ....which you won't experince in general TV.
The series took a twist, when she face some ups and down in her life, she was ditched by her boyfriend, her parents disowned her because of her attitude and acts. She was about to enter into flesh trade when some how a new man enter her life.
The 2 part series is fun watching, but beware there too much use of F#@$ words which is again a Taboo for Indian society, still our Badass girl don't hesitate to use it openly and showing the middle fingers.
The 20 min each series of 11 episode in part 1 and 13 episodes in part 2 is an absolute entertainment so far and hope it get into some nice ending. It has everything that an adult audience can watch (obviously tye use of vulgar words and few scene won't be suitable for kids) The cast is good and the actor and actress have executed the series perfectly.
More importantly, the series is produced with HINGLISH (hindi and english) accent with English subtitle. So anyone can watch this and spend some good time. Like me who is going to spend my Sunday watching part 2. Watch the trailer and buckle up for some fun entertainment.
