Vertigo - 1958 by Alfred Hitchcock.
I am not a classical movie fan, except few of the old Bollywood movies. But when you comes across some movie recommendation pertaining to yesteryear than you get eager to watch them. One such instances lead me to watch Vertigo released in 1958. Considered to be one of the masterpiece by Alfred Hitchcock.
@azircon in one of his recent post - where is the bridge described the movie scene in such a way that made me to look out for it. In todays time finding movies online is not a tough task and ultimately I ended up watching it completely here. It was about the San Francisco bridge and the scene shot near it was mentioned on the post.

The film's intricate plot, centered around a detective (retired police officer) with #vertigo and a mysterious woman whom he fell in love during the course of the movie. The main character of the movie were
James Stewart - Scottie
Kim Novak - Madeliene / Judy
Tom Helmore - Gavin elster
The film portrays Scottie's vulnerability and struggles with his fear of heights and his inability to save Madeleine. Gavin elster, completely aware of Scottie weakness hired him to keep an eye on his wife Madeline. He assumed her to be possessed with suicidal tendency. While on his spy duty, Scottie fell in love for the beauty of Madeline. But it was a well planned murder plot which ultimately lead Scottie to lose his senses due to guilt.
In the movie, Judy and Madeleine are the same person. Judy, was hired by Gavin Elster to impersonate his wife, Madeleine, as part of a murder plot. The women that Scottie falls in love with is not a real "Madeliene", but a impersonate character created by 'Judy' under Gavin Elster's direction for the murder. Judy's role as Madeleine was part of a plan to kill the real Madeleine.
Scottie, having discovered Judy's deception and her role in Madeleine's death, forces her to reenact the events that led to the supposed suicide. He confronts her, his fear for heights seemingly cured by the traumatic experience, and forces her to climb to the top of the bell tower with him. Judy, confesses her part in the elaborate plot orchestrated by Gavin Elster. As they were near the top, a nun appears, startling Judy, who loses her balance and falls to her death, mirroring the earlier "suicide" cum murder plot of real Madeliene. The film concludes with Scottie standing at the edge of the tower, staring down at Judy's body, his vertigo seemingly cured but only after losing his love for Judy.
Surely, the movie was a masterpiece during that era. It was well directed and presented to the audience, with mystery and suspense. But, now after watching so many movies over the year, the plot was quite familiar to me. However, it is still worth watching, considering one of the masterpieces of Alfred Hitchcock.
In good faith - Peace!!
Very good review, you motivated me to look for this movie and watch it, thank you very much.

Mujhe bhi iss type ki movies bahut pasand hain but kaam ke chalte revisit nahi kar pata. Aur upper se naye contents bhi itne ki kya bole abhi .
After watching Rear Window some years ago which really stuck with me, I wanted to watch more Hichcock movies but haven't gotten to it yet. Vertigo likely will be the next one of his movies that I check. Thanks for reminding me!
One of the best classical movies there is. I haven't watched it in a long time. I know what we are going to watch tonight :)
I know it's a classic, but I have never seen this film.
