Bleach

Since the bleach: thousand year is getting more and more hype and the animation is awesome lets talk about bleach.

Bleach very briefly, and to avoid specific references to spoilers, is the story of a teenager named Ichigo Kurosaki who, from birth, had the ability to see spirits. The story begins with Ichigo being 15 years old, living with his father and two sisters, in a house that parallels a small local clinic. Through a gradual change in his life, he ends up being a high school student, getting involved in cases that have to do with the Spirit World and gradually developing into a powerful and protective fighter.

In contrast to several other characters of similar stories in the anime/manga industry, Ichigo does not have an extremely melodramatic past, with no family or love from his environment. He is an absolutely believable character who happened to lose his mother at a young age and learned to live with it.

For me, this is the biggest part that distinguishes Bleach from other similar stories. The story does not unfold around the protagonist and he just happens to get involved along the way. The story revolves around him and directly affects his life and mental state.
For a script based on "Gods and Demons", Bleach manages at its core to form a story that has to do with interpersonal relationships, discrimination, moral conflicts but most of all, how the establishment can gradually change if the new generations learn and accept their past, but not let it rule them.

This is a truly progressive story for its time (2001) and the industry it belongs to. Beyond the paranormal aspects of the script, the characters are often faced with real human problems such as sexism, xenophobia and the social exclusion of diversity, which the creator touches on seriously and in my opinion with enough maturity, because they have real gravity in history.

I would suggest, to anyone who has time, anime watcher or not, to take a look at it, because I am sure that he will find something interesting to think about experiencing the evolution of Ichigo as a character and the flow of the story. You can either watch it (there are many sites that have the complete list of episodes without fillers), or read it (there is a complete manga story in full color by a group of people who have done an excellent job.).
