• Zegler sings beautifully — no surprise there.

• The forest setting and animals are cute, as expected.

• Visually, it’s stunning — just as you'd hope.

• They go for a kind of Broadway-theatrical style, and just for that effort, I’ll give them some credit.

• I don’t want to be harsh, but I think Gal Gadot just doesn’t have it here… Her performance is flat, emotionless, and at times unintentionally funny.

• Zegler, while great vocally, acts in a very monotonous way.

• Some of the CGI looks rushed and cheap.

• One dance scene with the Queen felt “weird” and poorly executed.

• The film brings nothing new to the table — it’s just a rehash of the exact same story.

• It felt like the movie had no real “soul.”

• Directing approach: basic and uninspired.

Minecraft

Four people are teleported through a magical portal into a strange cubist kingdom that thrives on imagination. To return to our world, they must figure out the rules that govern this bizarre place.
It smashed the box office, already had a built-in fanbase from the game…
But is it actually worth it as a film?

• I think fans of the genre will enjoy it, especially with all the references to the game.

• It’s watchable, and at times funny and entertaining.

• Jason Momoa and Jack Black are quite good in their roles, and their chemistry adds a lot to the film.

• It has a fun, “playful” tone.

• Jennifer Coolidge is a queen, even though her screen time is short.

• Some of the set pieces are visually impressive.

• Direction and editing are solid enough to keep the pacing smooth and not tiring.

• The two main female characters feel underdeveloped.

• The final scene (battle) was below my expectations.

• The overall concept feels uninspired.

• While the tone is fun in parts, at times it feels uncoordinated, which can throw you out of the experience.

• The contrast between the real world and the Minecraft world isn’t strong — mostly because the real world also feels exaggerated and unreal.

• The villagers were... so-so.
