Let’s end the weekend with one more movie post!

(By far my favorite movie of the genre!)

• The two protagonists had serious injuries. Edgerton during filming seriously injured his knee and came back after six weeks! Hardy broke his finger and had broken ribs!

• The song that plays at the end is "About Today" and was the brainchild of producers Anthony Tambakis and Gavin O'Connor.

• The film was made in honor of "Charles 'Mask' Lewis." It's about the man who was supposed to play the promoter in the movie, but he fell victim to a drunk who killed him with his car. He was replaced by producer Gavin O'Connor. Mask was the founder of the company Tapout.

• It is of particular value that Gavin O'Connor, Anthony Tambakis, Tom Hardy, Joel Edgerton, Frank Grillo lived together for a long time to get to know each other and become friends.

• At the first shoot, the audience was thrilled by the awesome performance of "father" Nick Nolte and cheered him for a long time. The scene was cut but is in the DVD extras.

• Actor Frank Grillo(Kingdom) played the character of the famous trainer Greg Jackson. Grillo along with star Joel Edgerton trained for many years at his gym in New Mexico. Jackson is the trainer of Jones, Holm, GSP.

• When you say the name of the Russian Koba in the movie, he mentions that he is an Olympic champion in wrestling. Kurt Angle who plays the role was actually a 1996 Olympic champion in freestyle wrestling.

• The role of Brendan Conlon is inspired by MMAer Rich Franklin who was also a teacher and fought for extra money.

• Anthony Johnson and Nathan Marquardt are real MMAers.

• The scenes from Iraq come from an abandoned parking lot in Pittsburgh.

• Koba's character is inspired by Fedor Emelianenko.

• It was the second sports film created by Gavin O'Connor and the tragic circumstance is that in both of them people died during the filming with a car! Herb Brooks and Charles Lewis.

• 2015's Brothers in India is the remake of the film.

• Frank Grillo(coach) and Bryan Callen(commentator) have played together again in the Kingdom series as Alvey Kulina and Garo Kassabian.
