I will start with this:

  • Bong Joon Ho(Parasite), listed Cure in his top ten favorite films of all time.
  • Martin Scorsese said Cure was Kiyoshi Kurosawa's(the director of Cure, not to be confused with the famous Kurosawa) "most terrifying movie."

There is horror and there is HORROR.

Sometimes when you have a bad dream you see something is lurking near you and you want to scream but you can't.Did you ever have this feeling? After the first 20 minutes of the movie the rest is like that.

The plot is about a detective who is trying to solve the mystery around some gruesome murders. All the victims have an X carved into there necks. They catch the murderers but none of them remember anything.Weird.Near the scene of the latest murder they also arrest a young man and then a ride starts without brakes.

The cinematography of the film is top notch.Static shots that suck you inside the film.Cure is a magnificent horror-mystery narrative. It is a slow burn and you can't take your eyes off the screen. The film is so well made that you can see the downfall of the detective in front of your eyes like it is happening to you.You can see the evil floating on every frame of the film. You know something is wrong.Something is wrong with the young man they arrested and how he affects everybody around him.

I do not want to go into spoilers,as i do not like it for myself.I want more people to find rare gems.I am trying to give you the atmosphere of the movies. In the links below i suppose you can find everything.

I am closing with a quote from the movie:
"Who are you?"
