Stick Up Boys Movie pick review - All about the soundtrack - The Blues Brothers!
Film
Name - The Blues Brothers
Year - 1980
Director - John Landis
About
One of the most iconic and amazing films ever. The comedy and car chases alone are worth the watch as the Blues Brothers go on a "mission from God" to save the orphanage! Ultimately though this is a film about music as they put the band back together and are joined on their journey by some of the most iconic musicians ever!
Music
This is such a great introduction into some great artists and musicians and you can find a list of songs on IMDB here https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080455/soundtrack
However lets have a look at a few. We have watch this film as a kid and are still watching it now. In fact I watched it with my son recently and he loved it!
Here is a spotify playlist for you to have a listen to while you are hiving!

Music Highlights
Lets not beat around the bush here....John Lee Hooker, James Brown, Ray Charles, Sam and Dave, Fats Domino, Aretha Franklin, Cab Calloway and of course the Blues Brothers themselves...The list of musical highlights goes on and on! I am listening to the official Soundtrack on Spotify and just the opening makes me smile!
This scene in the cafe is one of my favs....what a diva she is!
When they turn up to a gig they were not booked on! I am sure we have done gigs like this in London....
I wish John Lee Hooker was our local busker! @risingstargame would be great to have some of these iconic characters somewhere!
I wish Ray Charles ran our local music shop in Brighton!
What a great ending!
Review
Its a classic film. It has everything I want from a film, music, soul, car chases, Carrie Fisher with a rocket launcher and ultimately lots of laughs! What is not to like! This again is a great introduction to some classic music and if you only watch it for the music it would be worth the watch. However if you are not utterly charmed by Jake and Elwood then you got the blues.... Now what you need to do is get some dark glasses and half a tank of gas and watch this film now!
Rating
10 out of 10 SUB masks
IMDB gives it 7.9 out of 10
Now go watch it or listen to it!
Big up the films

Such a great movie ! Can't count how many times I've watched it.
That rawhide scene always gives me goosebumps. And those cowboys won't stop throwing bottles whether they hate or love the song played haha
I have seen it so many times! It is such a great film and my 10 year old love it !PIZZA
i gotta go with aykroyd and tom hanks "city of crime" rap.song from the dragnet soundtrack, personally.
...also aykroyd does a cheasy blues rock song off the soundtrack from my stepmother is an alien, called "hot wife"
also, he did this actual alien conspiracy video years ago, and i remember it being pretty hilarious amd him looking rather crazy
lol all good picks !PIZZA bro!

Yeah great film. I heard Dan Aykroyd talking about filming it. He gave the impression that John Belushi was pretty out of control.
