Introduction

We love so many things on Hive but one new thing we love a lot is CineTV and are planning to run a series of competitions based around CineTV which is a new film and TV blog on hive with its native currency Cine! Check out the front end here https://www.cinetv.blog/ Some of you may know but we do quite a lot of work in music for film and TV and the score or soundtrack is often the thing we focus on when watching a film.

We thought we would start off our competition linking it in with two of our favourite things Hive Pizza and Rising Stars @cinetv @risingstargame2 @hive.pizza. You can play Rising star here https://www.risingstargame.com/game.asp and check out the powerhouse that is Hive Pizza here (so much more than a tipping token!) https://hive.pizza/

PSX_20211027_222247.jpg

The Competition

All you have to do is link a video to a song in a movie which is one of your favourites and tell us why you like it so much in the comments. Yep that is it! If you really love it then give it a reblog and a share as well so your friends can join in!

Our example

Easy Rider a classic of a film, when we first saw this we then had to get a big motorbike, this became some kind of wild fantasy to be in this film! The song is Born To be wild by Steppenwolf which is just brilliant! You can listen on Spotify here https://open.spotify.com/track/63OFKbMaZSDZ4wtesuuq6f?si=3589c41e477b487d This clip actually has Pusherman at the start as well which is another great song as an added bonus!

Prizes

We will pick 3 winners, our decision is final, this is no fancy chart scoring everyone and making it official! We will just pick 3 that we think are very cool!

1st Place - 50 Cine, 5000 Starbits and 20 pizza
2nd Place - 30 Cine, 3000 Starbits and 15 Pizza
3rd Place - 20 Cine, 2000 Starbits and 10 pizza

Winners will also win an exclusive NFT minted with Cine made by us! The competition closes when the post closes in 7 days!

Nice seeing this. I'm a Kdrama freak and No! I don't watch any of those girlish, romantic stuff. Hehe.

When it comes to their OST (Original Sound Track), I hardly watch any Kdrama without downloading some of these OSTs. Imagine watching 16 episodes and each episode is above an hour. Hehe. Yeah, you must love some of the songs. And I used these songs as my background music in my Videos which I make with this account.

Okay, let's go into the game already.

I have alot of those OSTs so, I will just go with the latest one from the
Kdrama I just finished watching.

Title of Drama: Beyond Evil
Song: Beyond Evil Opening Title
Artist: Ye Sol Kim

This is a typical real life reflection of what it means to be a Cop in a town that is filled with serial killers. Heheh. Scary isn't it?

You can catch these guys, but because of lack of evidence of insufficient evidence, they will slip through your finger. All thanks to the LAW.

I like the suspense, the twists, the chemistry between the major characters, the character development of minor characters is also fabulous.

To crown it all, the Cover of the same song made by Wisey Marimba always gives me goosebumps 😂

(Do watch on YouTube. You don't want to miss this)

BTW, I'm trying to start a Kdrama review and co. Just to bring Kdrama to the blockchain. Hehe

avatar

Nice, not heard of it! Big soundtrack on the top video but bottom one not working? Nice stuff !PIZZA

avatar

One of the best and more undervalued soundtrack that I ever heard, this clip is just a part of the full BSO, completely awesome!!!

by Stephen Endelman

avatar

I actually like this film, it is cute! Never really checked out the score....probably watched it hungover on a sunday afternoon....!PIZZA

avatar

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Godfather

Mike Patton is God. And I love his band Fantomas. They make an entire récord cover clasical film songs and they cover the GodFather movie OST Main theme:

And I love this song. I make a cover too. Cause I simple love it, reminds me My parents. They love the spanish cover of that song. And well for me is a special link to remind them, both pass away

https://peakd.com/@nahupuku/xwoaadfp

Original movie song

"Speak Softly Love" - Lyrics: Larry Kusik music by Nino Rota (Giovanni Rota Rinaldi)

Spanish original cover

avatar

Hands down. This is my fav soundtrack.. The Soggy Bottom Boys in O Brother, Where Art Thou.. I loved all the music in that movie, but this one I especially love and catch myself singing it out of nowhere.

avatar

Oh i love this soundtrack so much and the film! You did a great version of this too! !PIZZA

avatar

I don't really now If I'm right on the theme because I'll talk of a series. But for me all Mister Robot should be watch for the music's too.

I really love Classical music and probably one of my favorite songs all time is "Allegretto, Symphony n°7, II of Beethoven" and I'm really desperated because the music is like 8 minutes long and I have always been destroyed when it's in a movie. And that happens a lot of time.

The 2 only exceptions are a french audio series name "Reflet d'acide" and Mr robot, and that made me love that series so much !

Even in a so small moment they used the music in a better way than most of other movies !

For me almost all episodes should basically have their chance for the best music in a movie or tv show :')

I also solved when they played "Where is my mind". That's a direct reference to Fight club and if you watched the show you totally understand what's the same !

Look at how beautiful this is !

I'm a sucker for sportsmovies no matter how cheesy they are. And there are always moments in my live, where I randomly remember this scene.

avatar

Wow, how have I never heard of this film! WIll have to check it out! !PIZZA

(Edited)

red river rock scene from planes trains and automobiles, classic hilarious thanksgiving movie (that's a holiday in the us😉)

this song is actually a cover of a 60s garage rock band doing a version of an old country song, red river valley. classic 80s mandolin synth sound. amazing!

full version:

avatar

Love it, have watched this film recently, still makes me laugh a lot !PIZZA

if we talk about music that already existed (not filmed for the movie) Quentin Tarantino is one of the best in picking that and also finding some old songs and making them mainstream popular again.

you can pick any of his movies and music will be great.

interesting analysis of music in his films and few clips of him explaining how he picks music:

avatar

For sure, I nearly put them all as my own choice! love his music picks! !PIZZA

avatar

One of my favourite movie tracks of the modern movie era is See you again by Wiz Khalif and featuring Charlie Puth from the FastNFurious franchise, it was a kind of commemoration track to honor the late star of the franchise Paul Walker who died in a real life and sudden car accident

I really enjoyed this track because of the sentiment to honor a fallen star of our time.

There is some far greater known movie tracks but not ones that tug on the heart strings like this does for obvious reasons.

It is a great track with sweet harmonies and a great production.

Here are some of Pauls best scenes from the franchise.

avatar

What a franchise! I have only seen the first few films but love the music on the clips you shared! !PIZZA

avatar

The franchise has a host of great music, I haven't watched the last few movies, but the first ones where great

avatar

So many movies , so many songs ... I'm searching ... ;)

avatar

Speaking of film and music, I will add my five cents.
One of the best sci-fi films for me is Johnny Mnemonic, because it visualised my fascination with cyber-punk (William Gibson and others) as a genre.
This movie has an excellent soundtrack, and I would like to point out at least two songs here (yes, I know it's not according to the rules) but I can't help it :)

Cop Shoot Cop - 3 A.M. Incident
It's a story that perfectly fits the situation in the movie

and

Orbital - Sad But True
Electronic sounds, I can't say techno/house because is an old one, but I really enjoy in the scene where this music plays and Keanu Reeves came to the bar. I think that authors of the Fifth Element use this as an example for the Diva :)

Here you can check the complete soundtrack

avatar

Now I have not watched this film for such a long time! What a soundtrack though, never really checked it out and might have to watch this film again! !PIZZA

avatar

After much thinking... and plenty of iconic songs i could think about... Finally it came clear to me, that if i had to choose only one song, it should be one that i could relate to.

cantinflas2.jpg

I was always a Cantinflas fan, i could go on as to why, but let's just leave it there. This song particularly, since im a kid, always liked it, loved the message. Im not sure it's his song, but doesn't matter, he interprets it on the movie El Barrendero. I couldn't find any better quality of the scene, too bad!

cantinflas.jpg

Movie: El Barrendero (1982)
Artist: Mario "Cantinflas" Moreno
Song: El Rey

avatar

Nice! Well this is very new to me but the song and video bought a smile to my face! Good work !PIZZA Also what an awesome moustache that guy has!

avatar

Here's the lyrics for "El Rey" as sung by Cantinflas in the movie El Barrendero.

Yo sé bien que estoy afuera
Pero el día que yo me muera
Sé que vas llorar (llorar y llorar)
(Llorar y llorar)

Dirás que no me quisiste
Pero vas a estar muy triste
Y así te vas a quedar

Con dinero y sin dinero
Yo hago siempre lo que quiero
Y mi palabra es la ley
No tengo trono ni reina
Ni nadie que me comprenda
Pero sigo siendo el rey

Una piedra en el camino
Me enseñó que mi destino
Era barrer y barrer (barrer y barrer)
(Barrer y barrer)

Y me dijo un compañero
Que no hay que barrer primero
Pero hay que saber barrer

Con dinero y sin dinero
Yo hago siempre lo que quiero
Y mi palabra es la ley
No tengo trono ni reina
Ni nadie que me comprenda
Pero sigo siendo el rey

English translation

I know well that I'm out
But the day that I die
I know you are going to cry (cry and cry)
(Cry and cry)

You will say that you did not love me
But you will be very sad
And so you are going to stay

With money and without money
I always do what I want
And my word is the law
I have no throne or queen
Nor anyone who understands me
But I'm still the king

A stone on the road
He taught me that my destiny
It was sweep and sweep (sweep and sweep)
(Sweep and sweep)

And a partner told me
That you don't have to sweep first
But you have to know how to sweep

With money and without money
I always do what I want
And my word is the law
I have no throne or queen
Nor anyone who understands me
But I'm still the king

avatar

No nudity in this short film by Martin Scorsese but plenty of claret. Stick to the electric razor I'd say........

!PIZZA

avatar

That is just very weird! great tune though....your entry don't count, you disqualified as you a SUB lol !PIZZA

avatar

Didn't really watched so many movies, but if I have to choose one song it's this. Just Michael Myers.

avatar

I forget this is John Carpenter, what an inspiration he is to us. I love his sound tracks especially Escape from New York, great choice! !PIZZA

avatar

Movie: Top Gun
Title: Danger Zone
Artist: Kenny Loggins

Watching Top Gun as a kid sparked a love for Naval Aviation that's been alive inside me to this day. This song always takes me back to riding bikes as a kid and pretending we were flying jets lol

avatar

OMG I love this film so much! Tom Cruise is my guilty pleasure! Good call !PIZZA

avatar
(Edited)

Chester Bennington was very special. His vocals reach in and make me feel every single word. I can't pick my favorite song because there are so many. I love the angst in songs like Crawling. I love The catalyst. I love Leave out all the rest. My Linkin Park playlist is a long one!

I've chosen The messenger because of the simplicity of it. He wrote it as a letter to his children. The album version wasn't intended to be perfect. He wanted the raw emotion and that is what makes it perfect.

avatar

Thank you for the contest username: lacandela

This is one of the best atmospheric soundtracks I've ever hear, captures the plot tension and mystery perfectly.

avatar

I do not know the film this is from but it is very cool !PIZZA

avatar

Donnie Darko
Joy Division - Love will tear us apart

This song plays just before the tie-in/climax of the movie and it just shows how great the world can be just before shit hits the fan. The lyrics are so on point too

!PIZZA

avatar

Fantastic choice, love this song, love this movie and makes me wanna watch it again! !PIZZA

avatar

Alright, I'm just here for the fun so I'd rather be excluded from the comp thank you! :)

This is in no particular order by the way, but the first one is always the first one I think of when people ask me about my film music greats.

Hans Zimmer - Chevaliers de Sangreal.

I get told he's a lazy artist because he does a lot of copy/paste -- but this one is significant to me because it was the film that made me question my beliefs!

Next on the list would be:

Nothing but a good old Braveheart song. This was the song when they executed Murron and spurred him into a vengeance rage! Nothing warms a Scotsman's heart than vengeance haha (Yes, I know it's just historical fantasy. Still an epic film though! And soundtrack)

Alan Silvestri is one of my fave composers. Forrest Gump is one of my all time favourite films. Enough said :)

Another Alan Silvestri score! Those old enough to remember the flight of the navigator will remember an appearance by a very young Sarah Jessica Parker for a few minutes. (She was the one with the Robot)

Last but not least The Terminator. One of my all time favourite musical scores & films. I actually watched this a couple of years back and I have no idea how I was allowed to watch this as a kid!

avatar

Zimmer is classic score writer! Forest has a great soundtrack! Terminator is awesome and scary! Flight of the navigator I not seen for years what a great 80's synth tune on it! Braveheart....well it works! Nice post bro !PIZZA untitled.gif

avatar

Speaking of fun, figured I'd share a bit of !LOLZ with you, @raymondspeaks

(and hurry up & write a new post so I don't have to find a rando comment to reply to... 😂)

avatar

I looked at all the songs and movies that were uploaded, they seemed very good to me and they made me remember this ending with the oasis song of a strong movie such as the butterfly effect, I hope you like it

I had also thought of the soundtrack of my favorite series "peaky blinders"

avatar

You Peeky fecking Blinder you! It is a great opening! I don't know the other one but will have to check it out! Nice work !PIZZA

avatar

Movies and music? The perfect combination. I'm going to smash up the place with a classic from Human Traffic (1999). Koop slinging the black crack as they say.

I was heavily buying Drum n bass/Jungle at this time, things were evolving at a quick pace. Anyone hitting their local shops will remember these scenes perfectly no matter where you were. This perfectly captures the time and makes me smile each and every time.

I'll add in the scene plus the full from track from the mighty Aphrodite called Stalker. Those snares will slap you in the face. Big up the junglist crew, boh boh

avatar

Fantastic, not seen or heard this for years! !PIZZA

avatar

THIISSSSS!!! It just makes me cry inside whenever I hear this song. I'm not into old songs but with this exception! Its because of this iconic scene that everyone has almost watched. Its just its well played and placed perfectly on this scene. It always play inside my mind and always remember how he sung this song. Its just really really great and one of my favorite scene in ~ @draco19

avatar

Oh nice, I love kingsman! Great scene! !PIZZA

I am a big Lord of the Rings / Hobbit fan and watching those films just makes me happy. They remind me of a simpler time when I was younger and had enough free time to just visit the cinema with my friends whenever I wanted to (after school of course). I remember watching the first Hobbit part 4 times in cinema (and a couple of times at home) 😅 So you can say I am pretty huge Lotr / Hobbit nerd. Unfortunately I couldn't watch the Lord of the Rings movies back in the days because when they aired in movie theaters I was still a kid. But a local cinema showed all 3 Lotr movies as a special event a couple of years ago, so I could finally see them on the big screen.

The Last Goodbye by Billy Boyd was the credits song of the last Hobbit movie (The Battle Of The Five Armies). It was a sad moment when I saw those credits for the first time because I knew: That's it. There won't be a new Middle Earth movie. That was the end of an era. So whenever I hear The Last Goodbye (btw sung by Billy Boyd who played the hobbit Pippin in the Lotr movies) I feel kind of sad but at the same time happy because I love these movies so much 😥😍

One of my favorite movie series from growing up is the Rocky set of films. Thais is one of my favorite parts/ songs from those movies! Thanks For the great post and giveaway!

Have some !PIZZA

avatar

Well it is a classic....I mean no eye of the tiger....what a montage! This is also equally cool though !PIZZA and cheers!

avatar

Conlcusion spelt wrong lol

I mist your post. Curating now.

avatar

In the dream scene in "The Big Lebowski" the song "The man in me" by Bob Dylan fits perfectly. That is my favorite movie and that scene is very important, it marks a turning point in the movie, there the strong female character appears.
The script is exquisite and the metaphor of the dream in terms of what goes through the life of "the Dude" can be perfectly analyzed.
The lyrics and the song go so wonderfully with that scene that it blows my mind.

But above all: That rug really tied the room together...

avatar

Such an awesome scene! Not seen this film for years might have to re-watch it! Great work !PIZZA

Hi . Here is my contribution.

Two films, two totally different styles.

First of all: The fountain directed in 2006 by Darren Aronofsky, with Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz. An incredible story of love, life, death through time. Images and a spectacular graphic universe served by a breathtaking and hair-raising soundtrack written by Clint Mansell who is not the last of the film music composers. I'm asking you an excerpt from the film: tell me it's not crazy and so full of emotions;) .

For the second film, we change register but we remain in the emotion. Different, of course, but emotion nonetheless: Mad Max fury road.

I obviously can't talk about this movie and its soundtrack without citing the late Keith Flint, lead singer of the band Prodigy (Rip "the Firestarter"). Turn up the volume :).

excellent choice love prodigy! great sound to a great scene! !PIZZA

It is a great classic of film music, which is still often used in background music or in credits.
Vangelis "Chariots of Fire"

I mean what a classic, so iconic, great song and great film! Nice one! !PIZZA

Years go by, and Guns N' Roses still sound badass ;)

Nice love that film and I used to be in a GNR cover band a long long time ago...!PIZZA

Id love to participate in the next one! ty!

Guess picking a classic is allowed:

From one of my favourite movies of all time

@javiss

avatar

Wow, what a classic choice. it did not even come to my head until you mentioned it! How many times have we done the time warp...... Love it !PIZZA

avatar

My favourite movie soundtrack is the music Nightcall, from the movie Drive (2011).

The movie is about a getaway driver, and the first scene of the movie is the protagonist (Ryan Gosling) driving around the city while the music plays in the background. The scene takes a few minutes and there's no dialogue between the characters, just the music playing; to me, Nightcall became the official soundtrack of driving around. I have it saved in my Spotify, and love to hear it when I'm driving alone, especially at night!

Also, the movie is 10/10. If you didn't saw it, watch it now!

Nice I do not know this at all but cool listen! !PIZZA
