RE: How do you watch movies?

The fact that you had to explain the question is saddening.Because,on serious notes, we have actually reduced movies to something we simply consume and move on from or hashtag trend followed.
Anyways not to yap a lot about modern world preferences. Let me share my perspective.
Personally, before watching any movie, I really go through lots of stuff. From genre to rating to theories, sometimes I even know the whole movie before even watching it. LOl, but this is how life has been since I started my undergraduation in Literature. Questioning, thinking, looking for answers, and then rearranging everything has become a part of my life. Though cinema tickets over here are not that expensive, but I prefer to go watch mostly with a company: whether friends or a date. If movie is something related to literature and philosophy, just like the Odyssey, I will access one of the two options. Otherwise, most of the time, I watch movies on my android or laptop. Because, I am away from my home, so it is rare for me to watch it on TV/LED. On average, I go to cinema twice a year. This time already done with the Odyssey, next ahead is Dune Chapter 3; and there is no way I am missing it.
Peace
I understand what you meant, because I tend to do the same kind of "investigation" sometimes (especially with movies I really want to watch).
Regarding ticket prices, I also prioritize a specific chain because, even if the price isn't the most attractive (financially speaking), quality is what always carries the most weight in my decision.
