“My Name” K-series is an 8-episode movie released in 2021 which I think is not old at all to see in 2024. It explored the theme around betrayal and loyalty and is a good recommendation for the lovers of thrilled action crime drama with a touch of romance.

This series introduced me to the lead actor Yoon Ji woo (Han So- hee) and because of her I want to learn how to kick some bad guys for real. I’m sure you’ll find it worthy of your time if you watch.

The story focuses on Yoon Ji woo who wanted to revenge her dad’s death. He was suddenly killed on her birthday by a* man-in-black.* She met her dad’s best friend Choi Mu-jin starred by Park Hee-soon, a popular drug baron in the city at the dad’s funeral and asked for his support in avenging her father’s death. So, she joined Mu-jin’s gang where she was trained to become a strong fighter and a deadly avenger, and then got employed into the Narcotics unit of the police force as Oh Hye-jin to catch the man who killed her dad.

Choi Mu-jin in this series is the head of the deadliest narcotics dealers in Korea. He is a ruthless drug baron that took advantage of Yoon Ji woo’s desperation for revenge to infiltrate the police, get information and protection to successfully deal in his business while waiting for the day Yoon ji woo will betray the team.

At the beginning of the series, I saw the killer to be the head of the Narcotics unit in the police force because the man acted suspicious from the beginning till the end of the movie only to find out that the killer was Choi Mu-jin, the dad’s best friend for a reason I couldn’t think of. The writer decided to play with my head till the end.

Yoon Ji-woo learned about her dad’s real killer and was broken, so, she decided to ruthlessly execute her long-time plan of avenging her dad, but there are so many hurdles she needs to overcome to be able to fulfill her mission. The hurdles include her lover and the law.

This series has zero happy scene, everything is sad from all through, but you may not notice because there are twists and turns to pay attention to. Also, it has a lot of bloody scenes. I love action movies though, so if you are like me, you’ll love this one for real. The fight scenes looked so authentic, you'll feel the effects in your bones.

I rate this movie an 8/10. You may rate it higher though. Watch it first and let’s talk about it. Or if you’ve watched it, what do you think?
