As far as I’m concerned – and maybe I can be considered something from Spoiler, so if you have not seen the series, you can get to this point in reading heh -, I was able to enjoy the series in a fair measure. The theme of the adolescent drama considered it tolerable, if not because I felt that sometimes, some situations looked somewhat forced. I do not like it at all when too many references are used to the current world, since I think that makes it lose the joke to see the movies and series set in a one other than ours (as is the case of the use of social networks or the way of life Not to mention that perfectionism in the character of Wednesday, makes her lose the joke, because the character is as good in everything that makes it possible to be heavy and excessively narcissistic. Very in spite of this, the character was from my favorites … or in fact, the only one who liked me (not to mention the other members of the Addams family, who for me, were excellent), since I did not liked anything the invasive way in which the rest of the members of the academy, try to fraternize with Wednesday, especially the boys… For me, it was completely unnecessary to add the "romance" to the series, I think the protagonist, has enough weight to be considered an attractant character without adding this genre; Even so, I understand that it is a series of a teenager and the romance is part of that drama ... But the way they handled it, for me it was horrible, the boys who pretend to Wednesday do nothing but stifle it and even harass it, which at all times, I found it uncomfortable to the point of making me unwitting those scenes.

In the same way, I think the plot does not have a history attractive or good enough to work without Wednesday or the rest of the Addams family, even to themselves, are not enough to help keep a weft so loose, so I was inevitable for me, falling into repetitive minutes of boredom in which I expected something interesting happened, even reached to think about the series as "Scobby Doo, but without the dog", Since the idea of Wednesday solving mysteries, for me, it is not the great thing. Honestly, I expected a lot more than the series.

Undoubtedly, the Addams family is of the little savable for me, the way the actors portray each character and the character of Wednesday, although sometimes it bothered me, I found it very interesting, reminding me of the character of the MTV series “Daria”, a teenager with a critical and acid way to see life and zero tolerance before others. I thoroughly enjoyed the style and development of these characters. I also liked the intro and the gloomy way they based all the context of the series, but the rest … for me, it is a more teenage drama. Desde pequeña, tuve la oportunidad de ver varios shows y películas de Los locos Addams, la excéntrica familia por un gusto particular hacía lo tétrico y oscuro, por lo que, enterarme que había salido una nueva serie sobre la familia Addams, me causó curiosidad, sobretodo al saber que Tim Burton había sido el director. En las anteriores películas y series, habían siempre mantenido un toque de comedia, así que tenía ciertas expectativas con lo que podía llegar a hacer un director conocido por sus trabajos con tonos sombríos.

La historia está enfocada enMerlina Addams, quien en la serie ya es toda una adolescente. Con una personalidad crítica, ácida, decidida, mentalidad ágil lo que la hace bastante inteligente, independiente y competitiva. Su caracter complicado la ha llevado a encerrarse en sí misma y a convencerse de que no necesita tener amigos. Disfruta de su soledad y de destacarse en todo lo que le llama la atención, como tocar el violonchelo y escribir su novela. Tiene un conflicto con su madre Morticia, a quién ve como una mujer perfecta, una sombra que siempre la opaca, luchando internamente con la idea de que haga lo que haga, nunca podrá superarla.

Los conflictos comienzan cuando unos adolescentes se meten con su hermano menor Pericles, desatando la ira de la joven, dado que "ella es la única que puede torturar a su hermano". A modo de venganza, la chica causa un terrible accidente en la piscina del instituto, en donde estaba nadando el bullyng de su hermano junto a su séquito de seguidores. Tal evento hace que el muchacho quedé con heridas graves y Merlina, acabe con más que una reprimenda, casi siendo acusada de intento de homicidio y teniendo que asistir a terapia por orden de la corte. Sin embargo, lo que más incomoda a la joven son dos cosas: No haber acabado con la vida del chico y enterarse de que sus padres tienen pensado recluirla en Nunca jamás, el instituto para personas excluidas en donde su padre, Homero Addams y su madre, se conocieron y enamoraron.

Merlina trata de convencer a sus padres de desistir de la idea, amenazándolos, más ellos le aseguran que pasará los mejores momentos en ese lugar, sobretodo porque no es la primera vez que causa problemas y es expulsada de un centro educativo, así que un lugar para personas con poderes y personalidades distintas, tal vez sea el mejor lugar para ella. Sin embargo, la chica hace todo lo posible por asegurarse de que su estancia en el lugar, sea lo más breve posible, evitando contacto con los demás estudiantes e inclusive, alejándolos con sus comentarios ácidos y mordaces, para evitar que deseen entablar una amistad con ella. Aunque Enid, su compañera de cuarto, quién es totalmente lo opuesto a ella, siendo amable, colorida y extrovertida, no se deja amedrentar por su actitud fatalista y negativa.

No conforme con acabar siendo una excluida en un lugar lleno de jóvenes que ya son considerados excluidos por los ciudadanos normales (los normis), Merlina tiene que lidiar con la aparición de visiones, un poder sobre el cual no tiene control y que le permite tener acceso a situaciones del pasado, siendo por lo general, eventos de muerte o accidentes fatales. Sin mencionar que está constantemente vigilada por la directora de la escuela y hasta sus padres, enviaron a Dedos, uno de los misterios de la familia Addams, una mano cercenada que es fiel a la familia y que Merlina amenaza para que esté de su parte, ayudándola en lo que necesite.

Sin embargo, los inesperados sucesos y misterios que envuelven a la academia, comenzarán a llamar la atención de Merlina, sintiéndose completamente intrigada y decidida a resolver con los misterios que no tardan en envolverla a ella y a sus padres...

En lo que a mi respecta - y quizás pueda ser considerado algo de spoiler, así que si no has visto la serie, puedes llegar hasta éste punto en la lectura je je -, pude disfrutar la serie en una justa medida. El tema del drama adolescente lo consideré tolerable, de no ser porque sentí que en ocasiones, algunas situaciones lucían algo forzadas. No me agrada del todo cuando se utilizan demasiadas referencias al mundo actual, ya que considero que eso hace que pierda el chiste de ver las películas y series ambientados en un universo distinto al nuestro (como es el caso del uso de las redes sociales o el modo de vida de la actualidad). Sin mencionar que, el perfeccionismo en el personaje de Merlina, hace que pierda el chiste, pues el personaje es tan bueno en todo lo que hace que puede resultar pesado y excesivamente narcisista. Muy a pesar de ello, el personaje fue de mis favoritos... o de hecho, el único que me agradó (sin mencionar a los demás miembros de la familia Addams, que para mí, estuvieron excelentes), ya que no me agradó para nada el modo invasivo en que el resto de los integrantes de la academia, tratan de fraternizar con Merlina, sobretodo los chicos... Para mí, fue completamente innecesario añadir el "romance" a la serie, opino que la protagonista, tiene suficiente peso para ser considerado un personaje atrayente sin agregar éste género; aún así, comprendo que se trata de una serie de una adolescente y el romance es parte de ese drama... pero el modo en que lo manejaron, para mí fue horrible, los chicos que pretenden a Merlina no hacen más que sofocarla y hasta acosarla, lo cual en todo momento, me pareció incómodo hasta el punto de hacerme poco disfrutable esas escenas.

Del mismo modo, pienso que la trama no tiene una historia lo suficientemente atrayente o buena como para funcionar sin Merlina o el resto de la familia Addams, incluso hasta ellos mismos, no son suficientes para ayudar a mantener una trama tan floja, por lo que me fue inevitable caer en repetitivos minutos de tedio en los que esperaba que algo interesante ocurriese, llegando incluso a pensar en la serie como "Scooby-Doo, pero sin el perro", ya que la idea de Merlina resolviendo misterios, para mí, no es la gran cosa. Sinceramente, esperaba muchísimo más de la serie.

Pero como todo no es negativo, les hablaré sobre lo que me gustó de la serie. Sin lugar a dudas, la familia Addams es de lo poco salvable para mí, el modo en que los actores retratan a cada personaje y el caracter de Merlina, aunque a veces me molestaba, me pareció muy interesante, recordándome al personaje de la serie de MTV "Daria", una adolescente con un modo crítico y ácido de ver la vida y con cero tolerancia ante los demás. Disfruté por tanto, el estilo y el desarrollo de estos personajes. También me agradó la intro y el modo sombrío en que basaron todo el contexto de la serie, pero del resto... para mí, es un drama adolescente más. Aún así, ésta es sólo mi opinión, de modo que si eres fanático de éste tipo de tramas y más de Tim Burton, sin duda, la disfrutarás.
