One series I could enjoy any episode I chose at random is The Simpsons, as it's undoubtedly my favorite sitcom. It's a series that deeply influenced my childhood and also holds a certain degree of nostalgia for me. It has also greatly influenced my way of seeing things and added a certain value to them. That's why I wanted to talk about this great series in Cine TV Contest #138.

Among the things I love most about this famous yellow family from Springfield are its characters, each with a distinct personality, allowing us to sometimes find ourselves reflected in them depending on the situation. Homer has a clumsy personality and is sometimes selfish or arrogant, but ultimately stands out as a family man, always putting the family's well-being above his own interests. Marge is a homemaker who has spent her life taking care of her family and being the strongest link, as with her patience and love she always maintains the stability of her family. Bart is a very mischievous and fun-loving boy, and his sister Lisa is the responsible and intelligent one who always leans toward justice and social good.

As I mentioned in the opening lines of this post, this series has greatly influenced and contributed to my way of seeing things. Due to its variety of topics such as politics, education, racism, religion, the environment, and other social issues, the series isn't just a comedy; it also invites us to reflect and question life while having fun with these situations. Personally, I think one of the most profound themes is about nuclear energy and how fragile it is, and how it can be a risk to humanity and the environment.

One of the episodes I find most relevant, given the current times, is an episode where they pass a fictional Law 24, which required all immigrants in Springfield to leave the country. The protagonist is Apu, a man born in India but who has spent much of his life in the United States. Apu tries to pretend to be American, but unable to hide his roots, he gives up and prepares to leave the country. Suddenly, Marge comes up with the idea that Apu could take a citizenship test since he's been in the country for over five years, and this turns out to be the solution for Apu to be considered an American citizen. In short, it's a context quite reflected in the new American politics, where people who have contributed so much to this country are being persecuted and deported, people who have only come to have a better life and contribute to society with faith in a better future.

Personally, I think it's a wonderful series, with well-created, well-crafted episodes, each with something interesting. A series that gave us and will continue to give us many hours of fun, but also of knowledge, of questioning, and of wanting to immerse ourselves and learn more about certain topics. Wonderful characters, simple and unique animation, intelligent fun, and a wealth of information about popular culture with its various references. It's undoubtedly a well-rounded series that has become one of the best in history.

Debido a su variedad de temas como política, educación, racismo, religión, medio ambiente y otros problemas sociales, no hace que la serie sea solo comedia, sino que también nos invita a reflexionar y hacernos cuestionar sobre la vida mientras te diviertes de estas situaciones. En lo personal creo que uno de los temas más profundo es sobre la energía nuclear y lo frágil que es, como esta puede ser un riesgo para la humanidad y el medio ambiente.

Uno de los capítulos que le encuentro más importancia basada en los tiempos actuales, es un capitulo donde aprueban una ficticia ley 24, donde todos los inmigrantes de Springfield tenían que abandonar el país. Se ve como protagonista a Apu, un hombre nacido en India pero que a pasado gran parte de su vida en Estados Unidos. Apu intenta aparentar ser americano, pero al no poder esconder sus raíces Apu desiste y se dispone a dejar el país. En fin, es un contexto bastante reflejado en la nueva política estadounidense, de como personas que han aportado tanto a este país estan siendo perseguidas y deportadas, personas que solo han ido a tener una mejor vida y de aportar a la sociedad con fé de un mejor futuro.

En lo personal creo que es una serie maravillosa, con capítulos bien creados, bien ensamblados y cada uno con algo interesante. Una serie que nos dió y dará muchas horas de diversión pero también de conocimiento, de cuestionamiento y ganas de envolvernos y aprender más sobre ciertos temas. Personajes maravillosos, una animación sencilla y única, diversión inteligente, y nos aportará mucho sobre la cultura popular con sis diferentes referencias, sin dudas una serie bien completa y que se ha vuelto de las mejores de la historia.
