Introduction

And Then There Were None is a movie which has foundation on Agatha Christie's work. It is center of attraction for all the viewers of Murder-mystery.

Plot

Eight strangers were invited by Unknown Mr. & Mrs.Owen on an island where their death was planned in a paranormal and mysterious order according to the nursery rhyme Ten Little Indians that was hanging in each room. Upon their arrival they got to know that there is no such person with name Mr. & Mrs.Owen. They were welcomed by two servants. Interestingly, they all were unknown to each other.
On dinning table there was a statue of ten Indians, standing against each other.
After having dinner, women were chit chatting in a separate room and men were discussing their affairs in dining hall when one of them played gramophone, they heard a voice which was accusing all of them and reminding their crimes, they had done in their life, escaping the justice.
It follows a series of events in which you will see mysterious deaths of each character in according to poem.Everytime when a character ends the surviving group finds that a statue is down. They all start accusing each other for the deaths and they remain in quest of real Mr.Owen.With each death the strangers felt great urge of guilt, questioning their own actions.
Morley, a character, became aware of the murderer and he plots against him to catch him. He urges Miss Claythorne to fire him. When Miss Claythrone reaches back to home, she finds Judge there who was already dead in other people's books but he was alive. Judge tells her that he always remain in search of real justice and when he saw he is failing then he concocted the plan of his own death.At last he drinks poisoned whisky and Armstrong (Morley) appears there. Boat arrives and Judge dies. In this way, Movie ends happily.

In alluring and suspenseful way cinematography has done and atmosphere of mystery was always entrenched there.

Setting

Setting of movie plays an integral role in potraying a suspenseful. The isolated island provided a wide space for mysterious events. This movie helps the novel of Agatha Christie to stand out.

Symbolism

In movie, there are many symbols which have hidden meaning.
The statue on the dinning table represents ego of humans and their fall shows downfall of humans.
Black cats appearance represents melancholic situations after the deaths of characters.
The lady who always remain busy in knitting shows that complexity of plot.

My thoughts

Movie was good. If you don't have time to read the novel then you should watch movie. The one interesting thing about movie is that although you know that people will die according to nursery rhyme but the movie will keep you engage with a suspenseful atmosphere. Characters explore variety of emotions from funny to melancholic.
