Well, when I was reading the contest post, I was struggling to understand what they meant by visually stunning films, but soon while I was trying to connect, at the back of my mind I had a vision. It was a scene from none other than Rohit Shetty's Dilwale. Althought the time is expired, I am unable to participate in the contest, but still, I yearned for writing it, so I completed this post.

Dilwale is one of my favorites but that is not the reason why I am bringing it over here. The movie is plotted in such visually stunning places and undoubtedly, the choreography of the songs along with the cinematography of the movie, the screenplays, the script, the acting, all of it is played in such a superb combination that it goes without saying that this movie hits the line. It was a hit from all angles. Maybe I am biased when I say so, as the critics have more to say on this. However, from the spectators' point of view, I feel that the visuals were soothing and totally romantic to fall in love with. I wasn't forcing myself to fall, I just fell in love. It just happened.

The movie type:
Dilwale is a family movie, a movie for couples, a friendship movie, and also a movie for siblings. Also, if you are the romantic type, believing in love, and its power to heal and forgive, you are definitely going to love this movie. Dilwale means the big-hearted one, the romantic one, the one who is more caring and loving. With care and love, comes more responsibility and this movie will make you reflect upon your choices in life, which is why I love it so much.

My experience:
Dilwale made me rethink my life in a span of a moment and I could visualize all the wrong decisions and the right decisions I have taken. Life has given me so many chances to learn but did I and could I learn in all, I don't think so. I missed a lot of opportunities and without acknowledging I was still struggling and moving forward. I believed that one day I will find the missing pieces and here Dilwale was there to fix the puzzle for me.

If I start talking about the movies which taught me loads of stuff, maybe many will fall under this category, so would, if you start writing about all the movies that created an impact on your life and your ink will be over way before you can finish all of them. However, let me keep my focus straight. What are visuals according to you?

Dilwale##.png

Visuals:
Visuals are what we see on the screens, the actions, the emotions, the light balance, the settings, all of it is part of the visuals is what I think. So, that is precisely what we do see in most movies, but the unique part about the visually stunning films is that these are the collections where besides the plot, besides the main parts even the visuals created an impact on you.

Of the many movies I have seen until today, only this one created such an impact on me. Why? Firstly, the colors were bright. The setting was bright too, not too bright for the eyes but stunningly beautifully bright. The color contrasts were superb. Starting with the backgrounds along with the dressing styles and obviously the tone of the colors, it was beautiful. Not even once you would feel that it was out of the box. Black and orange, black and blue, yellow and white, and all the other amazing combinations of colors.

image.png

However, you will get the feeling that things are excessively bright in contrast to other movies but I felt it all seemed more real as in the real world, life is quite bright in certain areas and we too need to depict those. Back in my past, I too used to live in a place that had such brightly colored walls and settings. Certainly, bright colors always cheer you up or set a cheerful tone, this goes without saying.

Secondly, this movie captured many incredible shots while shooting for the songs, and also, each of the songs contains such details in the background, that you will be astounded. Thirdly, the plot is well decorated but what makes it more captivating are the dialogues and performances of the actors and actresses. As I already made clear that the clothing choice and colors were vibrant and visually soothing to the eyes, what added to the beauty was the cars. We all are very much familiar with Rohit Shetty's specialty or love for cars.

Moving forward, did you notice the hint of jokes hidden between the dialogues and actions? That is another specialty of Rohit that always drags the audience to the cinema halls. That's it, these are the three points and the specialties, that make the movie visually stunning according to me. One another movie is close to this but didn't hit the mark; Chennai Express.

The Best:
In the movie, I found 5 scenes that hold the most value to me and also are the perfect demonstration of the best visual effects. The first scene is the one where Kaali and Meera meet, Kaali falls in love with her. I like it the most because of the setting of the place, it feels totally pious and innocent. I think it was a great scene in terms of visual display as the colors of the setting with that of their clothes, everything was bright and colorful yet with the tint of blue and black contrast with that of gold.

The second scene is the romantic date between Kaali and Meera, where you are most likely to get flattered. Within 5 minutes he presents a lovely day to her without even confessing through words but through actions. Actions truly spoke louder than words. The fondness with which he talks to her over the period of the meal is what many people desire in their partner. For which, I feel that this scene is unlike any other. The dialogues and the concept of a date being of 5 minutes itself is a beautiful thought. Moreover, making it all come true is indeed a stunning performance.

Dilwale###.png

The third best scene is where Kaali gets betrayed by Meera and gets to know that she was pretending all this time. The stunts with the cars and the epic portrayal of an antigonist female lead character, that I fell in love with. The stunts were super calculative is what can be felt but the real story is quite different. Also, she looked so devilish, incomparable to the female devil characters we have ever seen, I have ever seen. Just the perfect shock awaiting us, the audience.

image.png

The fourth best scene is where Kaali meets Meera just to warn her to never meet him ever again. Again, the best stunt scene. One who sees this scene can never forget it that easily. The impressive color choice of the cars and their outfits, all were too perfect. Maybe that is why it is a film and not a real scenario.

The fifth best scenes are from the songs, Gerua, Janam Janam and Daayre. The music and theme were totally intertwined and blended too well. Undeniably, the movie has captivated me way too much but as you already know, with best worst exists too.

The worst:
In Dilwale, I found this one and only most annoying concept, it is not actually scenes but more like themes. It is the portrayal of the women figures as an object; objectification of women in general. The dire need for having women in a man's life can be portrayed otherwise but I know it was done for humor purposes, still. Men only want to fall in love and that is the only goal in life, how tragic. It is definitely mentioned for the sake of comedy but I doubt if anyone wouldn't be able to relate. There are plenty of people who actually want to date and be in a relationship just because they think they should and it is a necessity, where it actually isn't. Thus, this concept was a little eye-soaring.

The memorable scenes:
The best and most memorable scene of the movie for me is when Raj assumes that Veer is going to kill himself or hurt himself and rushes to him while taking away the knife instantly. The love between the brothers was highlighted in the movie and that aspect was truly beautiful. In this growing generation, we lack that cuddling and trust between siblings. Furthermore, I would like to add more two memorable scenes from the movie. One of that is the romantic 5 minutes date and obviously, the border scene where Kaali realizes that he was betrayed. Even now when I recall tears peek from my eyes. Life is tragic when you are the dilwale type.

Dilwale is a very special movie not because of a single aspect but because of the many different specialties, it brings in. According to me and from my watch list, Dilwale will always rank at level one when it comes to being the best visually stunning film.

The End!

Thanks so much for your review! I haven't seen this film but the visuals do make it look very enticing. Maybe one for my wife and I to watch together. Thanks!

Thank you so much. Dilwale did break the expectation of many, both in a positive and negative light. I hope you both enjoy the movie if you choose to watch it.

This is one of my favourite Indian movies, the movie climax and the nature of the twisted romance was amazing.

Nice write up

Yes, with no doubt, I too loved the twisted romance. If I start mentioning the aspects I loved most, I will end up writing it was too long for others to read.
