My experience:

Women, a word but with numerous meanings attached to it. Secret Superstar is not a movie that I wanted to continue after watching a few rash moments, which was depicted against the mother by the father. It was too real and too concrete for me to continue watching but I was watching the movie with my younger sisters. While I was wanting to leave they stood there seated, watching it all.

Their adamant nature turned me to sit and continue watching it with them. The movie was a blast. I should have predicted that as it was Aamir Khan's production, yet I didn't like how violence was portrayed in the movie. It is true that many families still face physical abuse and mainly the male protagonist or the male characters are always to be blamed in such circumstances. That is how it is portrayed. Also, another aspect of abuse becomes a deficiency of higher education. Eventually, marital problems are showcased in such scenarios, which for me becomes too much to take.

I feel my blood gets easily hot and I can barely take it all in. So, I thought I wouldn't be able to bear it all, but interestingly I could stand all of it. While watching it, I also learned that I UTTERLY DO NOT HAVE PATIENCE.

Love for family

The movie type:

The importance of family, the importance of sticking to family, the importance of upbringing, the importance of standing up for one's own rights, and the love for mother. Secret Superstar is a movie that falls under the genre of drama and music. I would also add that it is a family movie. Yes, the two types of men who are portrayed are both negative but in contrast, they have also portrayed a totally different personalities in the form of two boys.

The Secret Superstar enacts the life of a young lady who doesn't end up controlling only her life but also changes her mother's life.

Where passion can lead us!

Analysis:

One of the key aspects of the movie was age. If I am observing the movie critically, I would say that they have portrayed male personalities in different lights while giving a peek at their roots. Starting with the character of a father, he is a self-centered, egoistic, abusive man in his late 40s/50s who never in his life grew to respect women nor did he ever respect the women he recognizes to be his wife.

The next character is Aamir Khan the superstar who is ditched by the girl he loved, lost in the pathetic world of music where true essence was missing. He had a loose character that was given but he never tried to be loose while talking to the teenage girl. We could see his wise manners and the true aesthetic characteristic which was hidden in him. However, he chose to be the way he was and he was certainly content. Interestingly, he did not let his bad manners get into the girl nor let it be a form of barrier in her career path. He was an adult, younger than the age of the father, definitely not in his 40s but maybe in his 30s.

Interestingly, the character of the boy who is in his teens was a pure soul. He was a close friend of the female protagonist, it is true that he liked her but he respected their friendship more. It was pure as I said. He was a modest and loyal male character in the story.

The last male character who was prominent was the little boy, who was definitely a child, the small brother of the female protagonist. He had a great caring mother and a strict but lovely elder sister, for which it can be said that the imprints of their father did not affect him too much.

Among the four different shades of men, lived two women, who strived and tried to live their life. Some male characters made their life more bearable while some made them chaotic. Yes, it can be said that male characters are portrayed in a negative light, but I would say that instead of taking a stand like that we should actually realize that the male characters were actually quite good and helpful except one.

Voice

The message:

With my description, it might sound that the movie is male character-oriented but that is not the case nor it is a movie of violence. It is a movie that demonstrates how a silent pearl can become more than what it looks. It depicts what is passion, what is voice, and what is love. Secret Superstar is a Bollywood movie that touches every fear which resides in a person who is pressurized by society in the name of religion where religion was never so harsh. It displays the light which is inside each of us, which only needs time and nourishment to sprout and bloom.

Mothers are precious treasures
