BAKUTEN!! (movie) -- was beautifully satisfying! <3

Too many animated films and series to watch, but too little time. This won't hinder me from watching them, though. And the fact that The Anime Realm community has started a Monthly Quest, I feel more motivated to write anime-related stuff. :)

To start with, I want to introduce an animated film which is entitled, BAKUTEN!!

Before watching this movie, it would be helpful to watch the animated series of the same title first. WARNING: May contain some spoilers from the series!

Bakuten (バクテン!!) means backflip in English. It's a sports anime focusing on rhythmic gymnastics. In the series, a third year middle school student named Futaba Shoutarou became fascinated with rhythmic gymnastics when he happened to watch a performance one day.

Because of that fascination, he decided to enrol at the Ao High School and join the rhythmic gymnastics club, the very club which made him fall in love with the sport.

Now, for the movie, it follows the events of the TV series. After qualifying and competing for the interhigh, the main characters have to face yet another set of challenges. Let me show you the official trailer of the movie below.

As you can see in the trailer, the seniors are graduating and there'll be three members left excluding the manager. (They need at least 4 people to join the competition). In addition, at around 0:36, Misato (black-haired guy) was confronting new captain Watari (green-haired guy).

It was in Japanese, but he asked, "Are you scared now that Shichigahama-senpai and the other senpai as well as our coach are gone? If so, why don't you consider quitting as our captain?"

Screenshot from the trailer...

In most sports anime, it's really a difficult situation when the reliable senpai(s) graduate. However, it's more difficult in this case because having these three senpai graduate means loosing half of the team. They also lost their coach on top of that.

Anyway, in the movie, they were given yet another chance to perform as a group before finally going their separate ways. However, it wasn't as easy as it seems. If you're curious, feel free to watch both the series and the movie!

The performances are really awesome and exciting to watch! The soundtracks, both for the series and anime, are also really good! Each character has their own unique personalities which made it even more attractive.

In the movie, their rival group also played a huge part. Well, they're rivals but they have a really interesting relationship. It's always so chaotic seeing them together.

I've already watched the series twice, but I'm willing to watch it again! Same goes for the movie. It's exciting and fun, but also relaxing to watch in some way.

I'm a sucker for sports anime, so I enjoyed this... it might not be popular, but won't you please give it a try! haha

Until next time! (^^,)/

How difficult it must be when some members of a team leave, but that's how it is, a cycle closes and a new one opens and now they will be the sempais of the new ones, well I'm imagining haha this anime looks interesting 👌

True... it's always a struggle in sports anime especially when the senpai(s) are actual key players. The group would truly change. It is, so if you have time, check out the series then the movie. :)

este tipo de anime son muy bonitos y reflexivos, te enseñan o recuerdan cosas que pasan ciclos que se cierran y nuevas etapas que comienzan.

this kind of anime are very beautiful and reflective, they teach you or remind you of things that happen cycles that close and new stages that begin.

That's for sure. :) People come and go, but the memories remain. :)

I think I've only seen one sports anime, and it's a recent one called Blue Lock, I guess you saw it, another one that I was curious to see, a volleyball anime that I don't remember the name of, but it's also recent.

I'm going to take some time to watch the movie and see if the series calls me.

a hug

Blue Lock is also really good! :) Though it's not "real" soccer, but it's so exciting to watch. As for volleyball, I love Haikyuu!!! it's my comfort anime, so I've watched it around 10 times already... There's another volleyball anime I've watched called 2.43: Seiin HSVC. It was also interesting in its own way, and I love the Fukui accent.

Which movie? If it's Bakuten, please watch the series first. haha The movie is a continuation. :)

yes it is just Haikyuu, thanks for the name.

I think I've seen the same anime 2 or 3 times, and it's relife, I love it.

Blue Lock is really good, I'm debating whether to read the manga... it's taking too long to come out hahahaha.

ok, so first the Bakuten series, noted, a doubt do you like Pokémon?

I hadn't heard about this anime, although I don't watch a lot of sports anime it seems peculiar to me, when you bring out several characters in these school anime it can be complicated but also useful to give relavacian to other characters.

It's not that popular, I think. Mostly people who are into sports anime would recognize this, though. :) Yes, there can be a lot of characters in sports anime and they come in diverse personalities, but I agree with you. They complement and highlight some characters as well.

I didn't expect the anime to be about rhythmic gymnastics when I saw the cover but I was expecting something like a group of friends and how they were strengthening their bond but nothing with the sport, but still I guess it's also based on friendship and how they can overcome the different obstacles that are presented in the sport and in their life outside of it. The part where the seniors leave reminds me of Hakkyu when the nationals are already on and they don't know if they are going to win but that would be the seniors or senpais last game. Good post <3

Most sports anime are related to friendship and camaraderie apart from striving to achieve their goal with their teammates, so it's quite heartwarming to watch. I also enjoy the adrenaline boost I feel every time I watch the matches... and yeah, they look pretty normal, but once you see their performance, you'd be in awe. :) Thank you! :)

How nice that you have joined the monthly mission that we have proposed for the community, we hope that others will also be encouraged.

Sports anime are usually good, but especially when they have their share of realism and I think this one has it, it looks very good.

Thanks for sharing with us. Regards!

I love quests... just like in games, so it's a fun and challenging way to be consistent in posting and engaging with the people in the community.

Sports anime can be very relatable and the excitement we feel when watching the matches is genuine. :) I enjoy "fantasy sports" or unrealistic ones like Inazuma Eleven (soccer) because they have a certain charm, too... but watching stuff like Ao Ashi and Giant Killing (both soccer anime) feels more familiar. As if you're watching your favorite team in the world cup. haha

You're welcome. :)
