Zombieland (2009) and Zombieland: Double Tap (2019)
We were pretty busy with some stuff yesterday and had some people coming over to our temporary place, so I didn't work. Whenever I had some free time, I'd watch something on Amazon Prime on my tablet. I first watched "Zombieland (2009)".

I love horror films, but I'm not a fan of zombie movies. It's not because they're gross, but I thought the story is usually pretty predictable and straightforward. However, I remember watching the trailer for this movie before, and I found it funny, so I gave it a shot.

When the USA transformed into Zombieland, four people found each other. Columbus, a shy student (who's also the narrator of the film), wanted to go back to check on his family in Ohio. On his way, he met Tallahasee, an older guy in search of the last Twinkie. Later on, they found the sisters Wichita and Little Rock, who were on their way to an amusement park.
Fate somehow brought them together as they travel through zombie-filled America. Will they survive? (A little spoiler?) Yes, because after watching the first movie, I moved on to the second one called Zombieland: Double Tap.

Ten years after the release of the first movie, the four survivors returned to star in Zombieland: Double Tap.
The story for the second movie happened after a 6-year time skip. The four of them were occupying the White House. They have adapted quite well to the situation and have analyzed a new mutation of the zombies.

The newer mutations were more intelligent and more challenging to eliminate. The four were also having problems with their relationships, particularly the now-teen Little Rock, who wanted to be independent, and Wichita, who was not quite ready for commitment.
Will the four still survive together, or is it time for them to go their separate ways? Watch to find out! :)

I mentioned earlier that I'm not a fan of zombie movies, and it still holds true. However, these movies were quite entertaining. I love the film's comedic aspect.
I especially love Tallahassee. He's such an eccentric, yet cool zombie exterminator. Sometimes it isn't easy to understand his way of thinking, but they often turn out to make sense. He's not the best father figure there is, but he's always there when it counts. I love all his moments in both films!
I love the other three characters as well, but they're not as interesting as Tallahassee, in my opinion. Though without them, the movies would be bland as well.
Story-wise, it's as expected... nothing out of the ordinary when it comes to zombie films. However, I must say the first movie was way better than the second. There were more characters in the second film, which brought a refreshing change, but they weren't particularly impactful. In fact, there were characters I found annoying and thought were unnecessary.
The settings were also quite good, but I love the ones from the first movie more... especially that from the amusement park. Well, the Elvis house from the second movie was quite impressive as well.
All in all, they were both amusing to watch. If you enjoy action-comedy with loads of zombies, then these two might be for you. And oh, I've read that there'll be a third movie sometime in the future, so it would be interesting to see a continuation.
I'll end this post here. Thanks a lot for checking it out. See you around! (^^,)/

I quite enjoyed both of the Zombieland films. I thought they were an interesting take on the over-saturated zombie genre and it had just the right mix of comedy and horror to keep it interesting. I may have to go back and watch it again, actually.
They were quite entertaining, indeed! Go for it! :D
