Cuando me dicen hablar de películas no me puedo resistir ya que es mi tema preferido. Y si me dicen películas de terror, más, ese es mi favorito.
Cuando yo era adolescente mi cuñado compro un betamax, este era el último grito en tecnología en esa época. Mi familia era muy numerosa, éramos 14 en total. Alquilábamos películas de terror y armábamos el cine, con palomitas de maíz y refrescos. Nos divertíamos mucho, gritábamos, nos tapábamos los ojos y nos apretábamos las manos, y cundo se acababa la película nos poníamos hacer los comentarios y disfrutábamos hablando todos a la vez.
Después con el paso de los años, comparábamos los últimos films con los de ese tiempo de los años 80', nos reímos mucho recordando que al final de las películas de terror siempre quedaba una cabeza degollada y está sonreía o guiñaba un ojo, un brazo mutilado y hacia cualquier movimiento, eran características de los finales de terror en esa época. Hoy en día, cuando se termina una película que estamos viendo siempre decimos al final: seguro que va a guiñar el ojo o se ríe, es solo para bromear ya que eso no ocurre hoy en día.
Bueno en mi gran repertorio de películas de terror están mis favoritas: Anabel I y II, El conjuro I y II, El orfanato, Mamá, La maldición de las hermanas y la que escogí para contarles hoy, Verónica.
When they tell me to talk about movies I can't resist because it's my favorite subject. And if they tell me horror movies, even more, that's my favorite.
When I was a teenager my brother-in-law bought a betamax, this was the latest technology at that time. My family was very large, there were 14 of us in total. We would rent horror movies and set up the theater, with popcorn and soda. We had a lot of fun, we would scream, cover our eyes and clench our hands, and when the movie was over we would do the commentary and enjoy talking all at the same time.
Then as the years went by, we compared the last films with those of the 80's, we laughed a lot remembering that at the end of horror movies there was always a head with its throat cut and it smiled or winked, a mutilated arm and made any movement, these were characteristics of the horror endings of that time. Nowadays, when a movie we are watching ends we always say at the end: sure he will wink or laugh, it's just to joke because that doesn't happen nowadays.
Well in my large repertoire of horror movies are my favorites: Anabel I and II, The Conjuring I and II, The Orphanage, Mama, The Curse of the Sisters and the one I chose to tell you about today, Veronica.
Esta película es una producción española del 2017. Comienza con unos carros patrulla de policía, llegando a un edificio de apartamentos y los policías forman un grupo para entrar al lugar de los hechos y en el fondo se oye una llamada telefónica de unos niños pidiendo auxilio y la voz de la operadora de la estación, tratando de calmarlos, diciéndoles que la ayuda va en camino.
Cuando entran al apartamento, la cara de asombro del detective, es lo único que podemos observar, al pasar por todo el desastre que hay en él, y que se transforma en una expresión de terror, al llegar a la habitación donde ocurrió el lamentable suceso.
Pasa a la escena 3 días antes del hecho. Nos muestran a una familia conformada por cuatro niños y su madre. Verónica, la mayor es una adolescente de 15 años, y sus tres hermanos menores Irene, Lucia y Antoñito. Cómo el padre de ellos murió, su madre tiene que trabajar todo el día y parte de la noche en un Bar Restaurante, es por esto que Verónica es la encargada de la casa y los niños.
This film is a 2017 Spanish production. It begins with some police patrol cars, arriving at an apartment building and the policemen form a group to enter the scene and in the background we hear a phone call from some children asking for help and the voice of the station operator, trying to calm them down, telling them that help is on the way.
When they enter the apartment, the detective's astonished face is the only thing we can see, as he passes through the mess in the apartment, which transforms into an expression of terror when he reaches the room where the unfortunate event occurred.
It passes to the scene 3 days before the event. We are shown a family of four children and their mother. Veronica, the eldest is a 15 year old teenager, and her three younger siblings Irene, Lucia and Antoñito. As their father died, their mother has to work all day and part of the night in a bar-restaurant, which is why Veronica is in charge of the house and the children.

Cuando todos los alumnos y monjas salen para observar el eclipse, Verónica y Rosa su mejor amiga aprovechan para ir al sótano a practicar una sesión espiritista con una güija pero llega una amiga de Rosa que no estaba invitada y Verónica se pone de mal humor.
Verónica quiere invocar al espíritu de su padre y la amiga de Rosa a su novio muerto en un accidente de moto. Comienzan a preparar todo, las velas alrededor de la tabla y sobre está un vaso, todas pone su dedo índice y comienzan el ritual, de pronto sienten como una fuerza mueve el vaso formando palabras y cuando esté se calienta demasiado Rosa y su amiga retiran su dedo, pero Verónica no, hasta que se quema y comienza a sangrarle y cae en la tabla en ese momento Verónica cae para atrás quedando en transe y no responde a los gritos de las otras muchachas, Verónica dice algo inentendible, rosa le acerca el oído a su boca y de ahí pasan a la enfermería dónde está Verónica acostada volviendo en sí y sin recordar que pasó.
De ese día en adelante comienzan a pasar cosas horribles en la vida de Verónica y Rosa se aleja totalmente de ella dejándola sola con todo eso. Un día que estaban comiendo y Verónica empieza a actuar muy raro asustando a sus hermanitos y es que una fuerza le impide llevar los alimentos a su boca, empieza a tener pesadillas horribles y al despertar tiene rasguños y marcas en su cuerpo, un día está bañando a Antoñito y de repente se va y lo deja solo, el niño comienza a gritar ella reacciona y cuando entra al baño el niño tiene quemaduras en el cuerpo porque el agua estaba hirviendo, ella le aplica crema y le pide perdón, él le dice que no fue ella.
Otra noche están durmiendo todos y Lucia comienza a ahogarse, entonces Verónica ve a un demonio estrangulándola y trata de ayudarla y se despiertan todos y la niña le pregunta muy agitada qué porqué la quería ahogar y ella le dice que no era así que ella la quería ayudar, pero no le creen.
Verónica ya no aguanta más. Compra libros de la güija y vuelve al sótano allí se encuentra con una monja anciana y ciega que le dice que debe cerrar lo que inicio para liberarse del ser maligno que la está poseyendo. Verónica se impacta y no comprende por qué esa monja sabe todo lo que pasa.
That day they arrive at the nuns' school where they study and there is a commotion because that day there is going to be a total eclipse of the sun. When all the students and nuns leave to observe the eclipse, Veronica and Rosa, her best friend, take the opportunity to go to the basement to practice a spiritualist session with a güija but a friend of Rosa's arrives who was not invited and Veronica gets into a bad mood.
Veronica wants to invoke the spirit of her father and Rosa's friend wants to invoke her boyfriend who died in a motorcycle accident. They begin to prepare everything, the candles around the table and on top is a glass, they all put their index finger and begin the ritual, suddenly they feel a force move the glass forming words and when it gets too hot Rosa and her friend remove their finger, but Veronica does not, until it burns and begins to bleed and falls on the table, at that moment Veronica falls backwards and remains in a trance and does not respond to the screams of the other girls, Veronica says something unintelligible, Rosa puts her ear to her mouth and from there they go to the infirmary where Veronica is lying down coming back to her senses and without remembering what happened.
From that day onwards horrible things begin to happen in Veronica's life and Rosa totally distances herself from her, leaving her alone with all of this. One day they are eating and Veronica starts to act very strange scaring her siblings and a force prevents her from taking food to her mouth, she starts to have horrible nightmares and when she wakes up she has scratches and marks on her body, one day she is bathing Antoñito and suddenly she goes and leaves him alone, the child starts to scream she reacts and when she enters the bathroom the child has burns on his body because the water was boiling, she applies cream and asks him for forgiveness, he tells her that it wasn't her.
Another night they are all sleeping and Lucia begins to drown, then Veronica sees a demon strangling her and tries to help her and everyone wakes up and the girl asks her very agitated why he wanted to drown her and she tells him that it was not like that she wanted to help her, but they do not believe her.
Veronica can't take it anymore. She buys some books from the güija and goes back to the basement where she meets an old and blind nun who tells her that she must close what she has started to free herself from the evil being that is possessing her. Veronica is shocked and does not understand why the nun knows everything that is happening.

Almas pequeño, ella le dijo que dibujara unos símbolos de la revista para ahuyentar a los demonios, y las niñas y ella encendieron velas y empezaron el ritual, de pronto todo empezó a temblar, se caían los cuadros, las lámparas, todo se agrietaba, se caían todos los objetos de la casa.
Los niños gritaban mucho, es ahí donde ella empezó a llamar a la estación de policía y empezó a sacarlos del apartamento, logro sacar las niñas que llegaron a la calle y se regresó por Antoñito que le fue arrebatado, lo buscaba y lo llamaba y no podía encontrarlo. De pronto lo encontró en el ropero con los oídos tapados, los ojitos cerrado y repitiendo Vero, Vero, Vero sin descansar. Verónica le había dicho antes que si algo malo pasaba hiciera eso pero que gritara muy fuerte su nombre.

Veronica decided to do the ritual with the children since even her mother turned her back telling her that she did not believe her. That night she and her siblings did the session. Almas pequeño, she told her to draw some symbols from the magazine to scare away the demons, and the girls and she lit candles and began the ritual, suddenly everything began to shake, the pictures fell down, the lamps, everything cracked, all the objects in the house fell down.
The children screamed a lot, that's when she began to call the police station and started to get them out of the apartment, she managed to get the girls who came to the street and went back for Antoñito who was taken from her, she looked for him and called him and could not find him. Suddenly she found him in the closet with his ears covered, his eyes closed and repeating Vero, Vero, Vero without resting. Veronica had told him before that if something bad happened he should do that but to shout his name very loudly.

Verónica flotando en el aire con la boca deforme de tan abierta que la tenía y cortándose la garganta, cuando todos entraron estaba en el piso y la sacaron en camilla a la ambulancia, el detective no salía del estado de shock y de repente el retrato de Verónica se incendió y en ese momento llamaron al detective para decirle que la niña había muerto.
Mientras tanto llegó la madre se reunió con los niños en la calle y se abrazaron.
Esta historia quedó en el informe que escribió el inspector, como un caso paranormal jamás visto por él.
The boy repeated her name in a very low voice, she was surprised and looked in the mirror and saw the demon in her. Veronica grabbed a piece of the mirror trying to cut her throat, but, it wouldn't let her and that's what the detective saw when he came in. Veronica floating in the air with her mouth deformed because it was so open and cutting her throat, when everyone came in she was on the floor and they took her out on a stretcher to the ambulance, the detective could not get out of shock and suddenly Veronica's portrait caught fire and at that moment they called the detective to tell him that the girl had died.
In the meantime the mother arrived and met the children in the street and they hugged each other.
This story remained in the report written by the inspector, as a paranormal case never seen by him.

Paco Plaza logro hacer otro buen film de terror después de su exitosa REC. La ultima que vi del director es un thriller muy bueno llamado Quien a hierro mata, hice la reseña hace tiempo. Se la recomiendo,no es de terror.

Una buena película de terror, mas por ser basada en hechos reales, la vi hace un par de años, gracias por compartirla, con respecto a la hora del cine con tu familia me parece genial que compartiesen de esa manera, algo para recordar. Saludos.
