Wednesday now streaming on Netflix.

Over the holiday I was looking for something fun to stream and came across Wednesday on Netflix. I had no idea they were working on something like this. I'm a huge fan of Addam's Family and thought I'd give this spinoff a try.

I'll try to do this review with very few spoilers. From the creative mind of Tim Burton, the basic storyline goes like this. Wednesday Addam's is sent to a private boarding school. It's a boarding school named Nevermore and it's for troubled kids with "special needs". Think Hogwarts for troublemakers.

We find out it is at Nevermore where Gomez and Morticia originally met. They were high school sweethearts. So Wednesday gives us a little bit of a backstory of the Addam's Family history. That also makes her legacy student at Nevermore and she finds herself living in the shadow of her mother.

Wednesday discovers some family secrets and mysteries to unravel. There are also some student murders that need solving. She begins to find a connection to her family history and she's determined to solve the case.

The series was incredibly cute and quirky in typical Addam's Family style. It kind of reminded me of the Addam's Family meets Nancy Drew mysteries. As tacky as that might sound to some us, they actually make it work. The show has plenty of funny Addams Family style humor, with a dark seriousness.

Season 1 is 8 episodes long. Each episode is about an hour long. I found the entire series fun and entertaining. This is good family entertainment but I think the humor and storyline is geared more toward young adults. Fun for all age IMHO.

The original Wednesday. Her character has evolved and the new series proved to be a lot of fun.

I should have posted this on Wednesday.

My girl and I have been watching this. About 3 or 4 episodes in so far and we both really like it. I never watched the old Addams Family, but I know now I would have surely enjoyed it back in the day. Luckily they didn't screw this show-up or anything.

They did a great job for sure. That was my biggest concern. A lot of these reboots suck, but they did the Addams franchise justice. Hope you both had a great holiday! Cheers

We just watched the first episode and will be watching more. We like a bit of quirky TV. The cast seem pretty good in this. I read that Burton wanted to go for more of the original look of Gomez from the comics, so he's not so good looking this time. His movies are always so stylish.

I think it was back on Tsu that I did a #WednesdayWednesday theme where I posted pictures of the character. Seems a long time ago. My daughter went as her to a fancy dress party at Halloween.

I was looking for some holiday movie fun and also saw the trailer for Wednesday. It does look like good entertainment. However, since I did not want to commit the time for a full season, I wound up watching Enola Holmes 2. Which our family thoroughly enjoyed. I've put Wednesday on my watchtlist for the Christmas holiday break.

It's worthy of a binge when you get the time IMHO.

I was talking to my youngest son about it last night. Perhaps he'll join me in binge session.

😊😉😎🤙 looks pretty good! normally spin offs are nowhere as good as the original, but I like the way things look and the acting of the main girl..

No doubt. They did a great job all around. Acting, plot, actors, it all seems to work. I usually find spinoffs a disappointment too, but not this time.

Without spoiling anything I'll say that I enjoyed the first half of it a lot more than the second half. That being said, it is still pretty excellent and I am glad I watched it!
