Broken Hallelujah is another movie from Bimbo Ademoye that will keep you on your seat for the rest of the movie time. Actually, it's sometimes weird when you try to watch some nollywood movies or any type of movie, but then you can't really figure out what is coming from the movie to you. That was the same way I felt when I first saw the title of this movie as Broken Hallelujah. I wondered how just a love movie would relate to a broken hallelujah, so I decided to sit back and watch it till I was able to understand the movie to some point.

Broken Hallelujah was directed by Great Val Edochie and released April 18, 2025. The movie talks about a family who suffers a setback in getting their offspring. It shows a movie genre of faith, belief, love, hope, and many more. In the world we are in today, it is a very pivotal thing for every couple to give birth to their offspring, as it will show their identity as a fruitful family and a blessed parent. But when it is the other way around and there are no children or child to show for the marriage that has been going on, it becomes trouble.

In this part of the world, it is a very big problem for a couple to get married and not produce kids immediately after they have been legally wedded. But one of the major issues of not producing children is that the family never sees the fault in the male child, but they refer all the problems to the lady, and they will say she might have gone wayward during her youthful age. This will tear both parties apart and cause havoc in the home. A child is very important regardless of the love in marriage.

Some of the actors in this movie are Bimbo Ademoye, Daniel Etim Effiong, Bimbo Akintola, Eso Dike, Barbara Soky, Great Val Edochie, Munachi Ike, Saratu Bello, and so on. Talking about the graphics of the movie, well, you cannot compare the level at which movies are done on the international level to the way they are done here, but still, it was an amazing one and a great watch. I love the suspense, the graphics, and the effects, and also the soundtrack and the music were amazing to hear.

What I love about the movie.

  1. It was entertaining as well; one could gain some lessons from it.
  2. I love the story line.
  3. The movie showed some nice places I love to explore, like the rocks.

What doesn't work.

  1. The story was somehow too long.
  2. The movie was somehow boring in the start.

Rating: I would rate this movie 7/10.

Here is my final take on this movie review. You know there is no way one can get married into any family without being fruitful or productive, as that is your identity to mark your place in the family. We were all given birth, and surely we must multiply also, but God does these things according to his time and season. Above all, this movie was an entertaining one, yet I was able to learn a lot of lessons that I plan to add to my life also. This is a good watch, and I must say it with the time.

This was such a heartfelt review. I agree that Broken Hallelujah touches on some really deep and important issue, especially the societal pressure around childbearing and how unfairly blame is often placed on women. It's refreshing to see a Nollywood movie handle such themes with sincerity, even if the pacing was a bit slow at first. Your takeaway about faith, timing and the emotional weight carried in marriages without children really resonated with me. Definitely adding this to my watchlist
