[ENG-ESP] Daryl Dixon (series review)

Daryl Dixon is the name of the series that follows the story of the character of the same name, who, after searching for new opportunities in a broken world, is caught up in a life-changing tragedy that takes him away from his home and loved ones. This television show of only six episodes is an action-sci-fi drama based on the TWD universe that serves as a sequel to the main series (The Walking Dead) which you can watch independently.

Daryl Dixon es el nombre de la serie que sigue la historia del personaje del mismo nombre, quien, tras la búsqueda de nuevas oportunidades en un mundo roto, es envuelto en una tragedia que le cambia la vida, alejándolo de su hogar y seres queridos. Este show televisivo de tan sólo seis capítulos es un drama de acción y ciencia y ficción basado en el universo de TWD que sirve como secuela de la serie principal (The Walking Dead) que puedes ver de forma independiente.

The Walking Dead's universe is expanding with brand new series that continue the story of the most beloved characters, and this time it was the turn of Daryl Dixon, one of the main characters of the saga. Norman Reedus shares the screen with actors Clémence Poésy, Louis Puech Scigliuzzi, Laika Blanc Francard, Adam Nagaitis, Eriq Ebouaney and Joel de la Fuente in this spectacular series with a very different story from what we are already used to.

El universo de The Walking Dead se expande con nuevas series que continúan la historia de los personajes más queridos, y esta vez le tocó a Daryl Dixon, uno de los protagonistas de la saga. Norman Reedus comparte pantalla junto a los actores Clémence Poésy, Louis Puech Scigliuzzi, Laika Blanc Francard, Adam Nagaitis, Eriq Ebouaney y Joel de la Fuente en esta espectacular serie con una historia muy diferente a lo que ya estamos acostumbrados.

We move to France, knowing how the world is ten years after the apocalypse that left it totally devastated and plagued by the walking dead. Although we had already been told that "zombies were born there" this series doesn't show as such a scientific side, but even more action than the previous ones of its kind. We have actress Anne Charrier as the villain playing a shadowy role, accompanied by Romain Levi as her executioner.

Nos mudamos a Francia, conociendo cómo es el mundo diez años después del apocalipsis que dejó al planeta debastado y plagado de muertos caminantes. Aunque ya nos habían espoileado de que "los zombis nacieron allí" esta serie no muestra como tal un lado científico, sino incluso más acción que las anteriores de su tipo. Tenemos a la actriz Anne Charrier como villana jugando un papel tenebroso, acompañada de Romain Levi como su verdugo.

We can see the French culture, as well as a bit of its traditional history, in terms of customs, battles, weapons and society, refreshing our view of the frequent United States. There is also an unforced inclusion of ethnicities and characters from different regions, but the focus is very much on Europe and its environment.

Podemos ver la cultura francesa, así también como un poco de su historia tradicional, en cuanto a costumbres, batallas, armas y sociedad, refrescando nuestra vista al frecuente Estados Unidos. Se hace también inclusión no forzada de etnias y personajes de distintas regiones, pero se enfoca mucho a Europa y su ambiente.

In this series, we have the chance to get to know Daryl in a much deeper way, showing his feelings in full light, being more transparent and social. The evolution of this character is crucial in the canonical events of the main series, despite not coming from the comics, gaining popularity on the small screen for its excellent adaptation and interpretation by Reedus.

En esta serie, tenemos chance de conocer a Daryl de una forma mucha más profunda, mostrando sus sentimientos a plena luz, siendo más transparente y social. La evolución de este personaje es crucial en los hechos canónicos de la serie principal, a pesar de no venir de los cómics, ganando popularidad en la pantalla chica por su excelente adaptación e inerpretación por parte de Reedus.

You won't see those boring "walkers" anymore, if you can even call them walkers, because by nature some tend to develop a higher motor or psychic capacity that makes them stand out from the average, as well as some others that have been genetically altered previously.

Ya no verás más a esos "caminantes" aburridos si es que se le pueden incluso llamar caminantes, debido a que por naturaleza algunos tienden a desarrollar una mayor capacidad motora o psíquica que los sobresale de la media, además de algunos otros que han sido genéticamente alterados previamente.

Six chapters are enough to entertain us with this new story centered on Daryl Dixon although there are several cameos and surprises. This is a series of reflection full of emotions and has as a sentence the search for hope and survival. Have you already seen it? Esta es una serie de reflexión llena de emociones y tiene como sentencia la búsqueda de la esperanza y la supervivencia. ¿Ya la viste?
