[ENG-ESP] Haunted Mansion (MOVIE REVIEW)

Haunted Mansion is a Disney original movie based on the dark attraction at Disneyland parks with site in America, England and Japan. This film is presented as a horror-comedy where a woman hires a supposed ghost expert in order to rid her house of various paranormal situations that make it impossible for her and her youngest son to stay. Released in July 2023, Haunted Mansion has so far been one of the company's best films of the year, accompanied by a spectacular plot adapted by outstanding actors who back it up with their incredible performances.

Haunted Mansion es una película original de Disney basada en la oscura atracción de los parques de Disneyland con sede en América, Inglaterra y Japón. Esta película se presenta como una comedia de terror donde una mujer contrata a un supuesto experto en fantasmas para poder liberar su casa de varias situaciones paranormales que imposibilitan su estadía y la de su hijo menor. Estrenada en Julio de 2023, Haunted Mansion ha sido hasta la fecha una de las mejores cintas de la compañía en el año, acompañada de una trama espectacular adaptada por destacados actores que la respaldan con su increíble actuación en la misma.

Lakeith Stanfield stars alongside Rosario Dawson and Owen Wilson in this film, which also contains a lot of fantasy under some very well done special effects. Lakeith plays Ben Matthias, a tour guide specialising in engineering, who after the death of his wife leads a life of remorse and longing while still in mourning. Ben is hired to analyse paranormal activity in a mansion and is surprised to find that ghosts do exist.

Lakeith Stanfield protagoniza junto a Rosario Dawson y Owen Wilson esta película, que también contiene mucha fantasía bajo unos efectos especiales muy bien logrados. Lakeith encarna a Ben Matthias, quien es un guía turístico especializado en ingeniería, que tras la muerte de su esposa lleva una vida de remordimientos y añoranzas permaneciendo aún de luto. Ben, es contratado para analizar la actividad paranormal de una mansión y se lleva una sorpresa al ver que los fantasmas sí existen.

These characters, accompanied by actors Tiffany Haddish, Danny DeVito, Chase Dillon, Jamie Lee Curtis and Winona Rider are involved in an out of the ordinary situation that forces them to stay in the mansion to confront the spirits of deceased people. Despite being a Disney film, there are some really scary scenes, so if you're going to see it in the company of minors you should bear that in mind, although I don't think it will give them some nightmares.

Estos personajes, acompañados de los actores Tiffany Haddish, Danny DeVito, Chase Dillon, Jamie Lee Curtis y Winona Rider se ven envueltos en una situación fuera de lo normal que les obliga a quedarse en la mansión para enfrentar a los espíritus de personas fallecidas. A pesar de ser una peli de Disney, hay escenas que realmente sí asustan, así que si vas a verla en compañia de menores debes tener eso en cuenta, aunque no creo les atraiga pesadillas.

The film is directed by Justin Simien from a screenplay by Katie Dippold and aims to be a live-action adaptation of the theme park that you will remember for life. I can say that from the first few minutes the film engages the viewer with Lakeith's performance alone, but it goes without saying that the other actors also shine in their respective roles.

La película está dirigida por Justin Simien atravesando el guión de Katie Dippold y apuesta por ser una adaptación live-action del parque temático que recordarás de por vida. Puedo decir que desde los primeros minutos la cinta engancha al espectador con tan sólo la actuación de Lakeith, pero no dejar de mencionar que los demás actores también se lucen en sus respectivos papeles.

Jared Leto is the main villain of the film, although his participation is given by CGI, he gives life in body and voice to the ghost that gives a touch of suspense to it. Haunted Mansion provides almost two hours of enjoyable entertainment reminiscent of films from the late 90s and early 2000s, the kind that start and end so well that they don't require a sequel.

Jared Leto es el principal villano de la cinta, aunque su participación está dada por el CGI, sí da vida en cuerpo y voz al fantasma que le da un toque de suspenso a la misma. Haunted Mansion brinda casi dos horas para pasar un rato agradable que nos recuerdan a las películas del finales del siglo pasado y principios de la década del 2000, esas de las que empiezan y se acaban tan bien de tal manera que no requieren una segunda parte.

For my part, I was delighted to be able to see again this type of film that has sent me back to my childhood, which easily connects with audiences of all ages, mainly aimed at those of us who enjoyed Sunday afternoons of fantastic films. Full of heart, feelings, dramatic moments and laughter, highly recommended. Have you seen it yet? Tell me your favourite character, mine, both Ben and Owen in the role of Father Kent. Por mí parte, me encantó poder volver a ver este tipo de película que me han enviado a mi infancia, la cual conecta fácilmente con público de todas las edades, principalmente orientada a aquellos que disfrutábamos las tardes de domingo de películas fantásticas. Llena de corazón, sentimientos, momentos dramáticos y risas, recomendadísima ¿Ya la viste? Coméntame tu personaje favorito, el mío, tanto Ben como Owen en el papel de Padre Kent.
