[ENG-ESP] Netflix's Daredevil (SERIES REVIEW)

Daredevil is a Netflix series in collaboration with Marvel Studios that is shown as a reboot of the character of the same name in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Although more than nine years old, it remains to this day, one of the best series Netflix has produced yet, with many MCU fans even referring to it as the company's best, ahead of Loki and WandaVision. Comprised of three seasons, Daredevil tells the story of how New York lawyer Matt Murdock goes blind and acquires abilities that allow him to live a normal life despite his condition, which did not prevent him from fighting crime and effectively defending his clients.

Daredevil es una serie de Netflix en colaboración con Marvel Studios que se muestra como un reboot del personaje del mismo nombre en el Universo Cinematográfico de Marvel. Aunque ya tiene más de nueve años, sigue siendo hasta la fecha, una de las mejores series que Netflix ha producido, incluso, muchos fans del UCM la refieren como la mejor de la compañía, por encima de Loki y WandaVision. Compuesta por tres temporadas, Daredevil cuenta la historia de cómo el abogado neoyorquino Matt Murdock queda ciego y adquiere habilidades que le permiten tener una vida normal a pesar de su condición, la cual, no le impidió la lucha contra el crimen que aterra su ciudad y una efectiva defensa hacia sus clientes.

Charlie Cox plays the fearless lawyer with honours, giving an excellent performance, not only in the dramatic scenes but also in the action scenes that left fans of the character in love from the very first episode. Playing a blind man can't be easy, but Cox has been very good at it, seeming to be born to bring this character to life. He is also joined in the series by Stick (Scott Glen), Foggy (Elden Henson), Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), Elektra (Elodie Yung), Ben Urich (Vondie Curtis-Hall), Nomad (Jay Ali), Melvin Potter (Matt Gerald) and B. Mahoney (Royce Jhonson).

Charlie Cox interpreta con honores al abogado sin miedo brindando una excelente actuación, no sólo en las escenas dramáticas sino también en las escenas de acción que dejó a los fans del personaje enamorados desde su primer capítulo. Interpretar a un hombre ciego no debe ser fácil, pero a Cox se le ha dado muy bien, pareciendo haber nacido para darle vida a este personaje. Lo acompañan también en su serie Stick (Scott Glen), Foggy (Elden Henson), Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), Elektra (Elodie Yung), Ben Urich (Vondie Curtis-Hall), Nomad (Jay Ali), Melvin Potter (Matt Gerald) y B. Mahoney (Royce Jhonson).

This series combines the dramatic style of Netflix with the action of Marvel, respecting both cases, obtaining a very well composed drama accompanied by long action scenes that make up the whole plot. Here, you can appreciate a lot of street life, making this series much more natural than those of the MCU, with more common touches and emphasizing social problems.

Esta serie combina el estilo dramático de Netflix con la acción de Marvel, respetando ambos casos, que, obteniendo un drama muy bien compuesto acompañado de largas escenas de acción que componen la trama. Aquí, se puede apreciar mucho la vida callejera, haciendo de esta serie mucho más natural que las del UCM, con toques más comunes y haciendo énfasis en los problemas sociales.

The main villain in two of these three seasons is Kingpin, played by Vincent D'Onofrio, whose good looks and voice also make us witness the comics come to life. Also, we have Elektra, Bullseye (Wilson Bethel) and The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) in antagonistic roles in several of its episodes, each presented by a different story but faithful to the comics.

El villano principal de dos de estas tres temporadas es Kingpin, interpretado por Vincent D’Onofrio, quien también su bien parecido en apariencia y voz hacen que presenciemos los cómics cobrando vida. También, tenemos a Elektra, Bullseye (Wilson Bethel) y a The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) en papeles antagónicos en varios de sus capítulos, cada uno presentado por una historia diferente pero fiel a los cómics.

The costume accurate is original, although with a modern design, it alludes to the costumes worn by these characters since their origins, without losing their essence. The story of Daredevil takes place in flashback mode in its first season telling how Matt loses his vision due to a chemical accident, but its events occur two years after the battle in New York seen in the 2012 movie The Avengers, although to date it is unknown if it also happened in the main Earth of the MCU (616).

La vestimenta es muy original, aunque con un diseño moderno, hace alusión a los trajes que portan estos personajes desde sus orígenes, sin perder su esencia. La historia de Daredevil transcurre en modo de flash-back en su primera temporada contando cómo Matt pierde su visión debido a un accidente químico, pero sus hechos ocurren dos años después de la batalla en New York vista en la película The Avengers del 2012, aunque hasta la fecha se desconoce si ocurrió también en la Tierra principal del UCM (616).

The graphics are very well crafted and the use of CGI is almost non-existent, feeling more flexible and digestible to the eye at the moment of consumption. The soundtrack, on the other hand, gives Daredevil that combination on the religious and the streetwise that makes the series the reboot we need from every aspect unlike the character's first film released in 2003, digging deep into what we didn't know about Matt, his background, family and precedents.

Los gráficos están muy bien trabajados y el uso de CGI es casi nulo, por no decir que no hay, sintiéndose más flexible y digerible a la vista en el momento de consumo. La banda sonora, por otra parte, le da a Daredevil esa combinación entre lo religioso y lo callejero que hace que la serie sea el reboot que necesitamos desde todos los aspectos a diferencia de la primera película del personaje lanzada en el año 2003, indagando mucho en lo que no conocíamos de Matt, su origen, familia y precedentes.

Although it is a series of fictional characters, it cannot be said to be a series of superheroes, but rather of characters who try to combat other people's problems in order to deal with their own problems later. Law is the main theme, and we will see more of this in the first two seasons than in the third, the problems that come with founding such a company and dealing with having one life by day and another not unlike it at night.

Aunque es una serie de personajes de ficción, no se puede decir que es de superhéroes, sino más bien, de personajes que tratan de combatir problemas ajenos para poder enfrentar sus propios problemas. La abogacía y el derecho es principal tema a tratar y veremos más de esto en las primeras dos temporadas que en su tercera, los problemas que atraen fundar una compañía de este tipo y lidiar con tener una vida por el día y otra no muy diferente de esta en las noches.

Charlie Cox returns as Daredevil in his spin-off The Defenders alongside Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Elektra as a series that brings together street-level heroes to tackle a major social problem, with a huge weight for the character. These events have repercussions for his third season, which brings the end of his story until before Disney and Marvel Studios retake the rights to use the character for 2020.

Charlie Cox retorna como Daredevil en su spin-off The Defenders junto a Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist y Elektra como una serie que reúne a los héores callejeros para enfrentar un problema social mayor, con un peso grandísimo para este personaje. Estos hechos repercuten en su tercera temporada la que conlleva al fin de su historia hasta antes de que Disney y Marvel Studios retomaran los derechos de uso del personaje para 2020.

After that, we see the same actor playing Daredevil in the series She-Hulk and soon in Echo, and in his own Marvel Studios series Daredevil: Born Again, although it is also rumoured that he will make his film debut alongside Spider-man in his fourth movie, giving it a more streetwise and natural touch.

Luego de ello, vemos al mismo actor dando vida a Daredevil en la serie She-Hulk y próximamente en Echo, y en su propia serie Daredevil: Born Again de Marvel Studios, aunque se rumorea también que hará debut en el cine junto a Spider-man en su cuarta entrega dándole a la misma un toque más callejero y natural.
