[ENG-ESP] Review: WandaVision

After the completion of the third phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with the films Avengers: Endgame and Spider-man: Far From Home, a new stage begins in the continuation of the stories of the characters in the saga 1 year later the last film.

Luego de la finalización de la tercera fase del Universo Cinematográfico de Marvel, con las películas Avengers: Endgame y Spider-man: Far From Home, comienza una nueva etapa en la continuación de las historias de los personajes de la saga 1 año después de la última película.

WandaVision opens Phase 4 of the MCU by premiering the Disney+ television platform, replacing the Marvel Television channel on January 15th, 2021. This story is set chronologically two weeks after the death of Thanos at Ironman's hand, where Wanda is still affected by the death of her fiancé Vision.

WandaVision abre la Fase 4 del UCM estrenando la plataforma televisiva Disney+ reemplazando el canal Marvel Television el 15 de Enero de 2021. Esta historia se ubica cronológicamente dos semanas después de la muerte de Thanos a mano de Ironman, donde Wanda todavía es afectada por la muerte de su prometido Vision.

The story begins when the paranormal security center S.W.O.R.D. takes over Vision's body when Wanda breaks into its labs looking for his corpse; realizing his absence in life, after the destruction of the mind gem that was implanted in his head, he decides to withdraw from the Avengers and continue a normal life. After much pain after this terrible loss, Wanda loses control and, with her powers, turns an entire town into a fictional city where she could live a quiet life and away from the cruelty of the people who had hurt her so much.

La historia comienza cuando el centro de seguridad paranormal S.W.O.R.D. se hace cargo del cuerpo de Vision cuando Wanda irrumpe los laboratorios del mismo buscando su cadáver; al percatarse de su ausencia en vida, tras la destrucción de la gema de la mente que tenía implantada en su cabeza, decide retirarse de los Vengadores y continuar una vida normal. Tras mucho dolor luego de esta terrible pérdida, Wanda pierde el control y, con sus poderes, convierte un pueblo entero en una ciudad ficticia donde ella podría vivir una vida tranquila y lejos de la crueldad de las personas que le habían hecho tanto daño.

Let's remember that Wanda was mutated with the powers of Loki's mind gem, which gave her a superhuman ability to control people's minds and simulate scenarios, so, with her imagination, she gave Vision shape and life again recreating it directly from his body. Her powers were so strong that she went through a breach of the multiverse with which she protected her city, changing the very reality within her.

Recordemos que Wanda fue mutada con los poderes de la gema de la mente de Loki, los cuales le dan una habilidad sobrehumana para controlar las mentes de las personas y simular escenarios, fue así que, con su imaginación, le dio forma y vida a Vision nuevamente recreándolo directamente desde su cuerpo. Wanda simulated the times from 1950 to 2020 where, together with Vision, she created her own unreal life, and made the townspeople believe that everything they lived was authentic. When S.W.O.R.D. found out about this simulation it intervened operating against Wanda trying to break with it. Notably, S.H.I.E.L.D. it was already dismantled by then and there were no other Avenger left to defend her from this coordinated attack.

Wanda simuló las épocas de 1950 hacia el 2020 donde, junto a Vision, creó su propia vida irreal, y haciéndoles creer a los habitantes del pueblo que cada cosa que vivían era auténtica. Fue cuando S.W.O.R.D. se enteró de esta simulación e intervino operando en contra de Wanda tratando de romper con la misma. Cabe destacar que S.H.I.E.L.D. se encontraba desmantelada ya en ese entonces y no quedaba ningún otro Vengador para defenderla de este ataque coordinado.

It was when the appearance of Monica Rombeau, daughter of Maria Rombeau, Vice President of S.W.O.R.D. appears with Darcy Lewis to try to make Wanda understand that what she was doing was wrong, infiltrating both into the virtual world she had created. Meanwhile, inside, Vision was suspicious of his own existence until they both had twin sons which, with this action, gave him much more suspicion that his existence was not authentic due to his android morphogenetics.

Fue cuando la aparición de Monica Rombeau, hija de Maria Rombeau, vicepresidenta de S.W.O.R.D. aparece junto a Darcy Lewis para tratar de hacerle entender a Wanda que lo que hacía estaba incorrecto, infiltrándose ambas dentro del mundo virtual que tenía creado. Agatha, an old witch from the time of Salem had been attracted by the powers of the main character within the simulation, realizing how powerful she was, she tries to devise a simulation within the simulation in the form of comedy in order to seize the themselves. Taking advantage of the multiversal rift that existed at the time, she summoned the younger physical presence of Pietro Maximoff, giving the same powers he himself had on another Earth to a stranger with an uncanny resemblance. With the Darkhold's use, Agatha, and the help of Quicksilver from that other universe, tries to take away the Wanda's powers.

Agatha, una antigua bruja de la época de Salem había sido atraída por los poderes del personaje principal dentro de la simulación, percatándose de lo poderosa que era ella, intenta idear una simulación dentro de la simulación en forma de comedia con tal de apoderarse de los mismos. Aprovechando la brecha multiversal que existía en ese entonces, convocó la presencia física más joven de Pietro Maximoff, dándole los mismos poderes que tenía él mismo en otra Tierra a un extraño con un misterioso parecido. Con el uso del Darkhold, Agatha, con la ayuda de Quicksilver de ese otro universo trata de arrebatarle sus poderes a Wanda.

It is when Wanda has a deja-vu and remembers seeing herself from the future with another look, being blessed by the powers of the Mind Stone. After Monica enters Wanda's simulation, she is affected both multiversally and temporarily by the town's protective shield and gains powers similar to Maximoff's; while S.W.O.R.D. finished arming Vision's body, giving him a different and monochromatic programming, causing him to burst into the place where they protect themselves, along with the militia of the center, fighting the version of Vision created by her.

Es cuando Wanda tiene un deja-vu y recuerda viéndose ella misma desde el futuro con otro aspecto, siendo bendecida por los poderes de la gema de la mente. Tras Monica entrar a la simulación de Wanda, es afectada tanto multiversal como temporalmente por el escudo protector del pueblo y obtiene poderes similares a los de Maximoff; mientras, S.W.O.R.D. termina de armar el cuerpo de Vision dándole una programación diferente y monocromática haciendo que irrumpa junto a la milicia del centro al lugar donde se protegen, combatiendo a a la versión de Vision creada por ella.

In the series, more secret members of the S.W.O.R.D team are alluded to and different ex-S.H.I.E.L.D. agents that we have previously seen in previous seasons. The series ends with Agatha's crucial defeat, and the takeover of S.W.O.R.D. by Monica. After the escape of the original Vision, Wanda loses control when she invokes magical runes from her magic creating an outfit similar to the one in the comics and decides to close the simulation on her own, saying goodbye to her two children and the Vision that she had created, that, yes it existed physically, but it was not real.

En la serie se hace alusión a más miembros secreto del equipo S.W.O.R.D y dan la cara diferentes ex-agentes de S.H.I.E.L.D. que anteriormente hemos visto ya en temporadas anteriores. La serie termina con la derrota crucial de Agatha, y la toma de control de S.W.O.R.D. por Monica. Tras la fuga del Vision original, Wanda pierde el control cuando de su magia invoca runas mágicas creando un atuendo similar al de los cómics, y decide cerrar la simulación por su propia cuenta, despidiéndose de sus dos hijos y la Vision que ella había creado, que, sí exisitía físicamente, pero no era real.

This series is full of emotions and hard moments that, to start Phase Four of this great new saga, made us quickly connect with many characters that for us had been secondary until now, giving them more prominence with a greater weight in the history and in the MCU. The deep dialogue and action scenes coupled with the graphics make this series as much to admire as any other movie in the series.

Esta serie está llena de emociones y duros momentos que, para empezar la Fase Cuatro de esta gran nueva saga, nos hizo conectar rápidamente con muchos personajes que para nosotros habían sido secundarios hasta el momento, dándoles más protagonismo con un peso mayor en la historia y en el UCM. Los diálogos profundos y las escenas de acción conjunto con los gráficos hace que esta serie sea tanto de admirar como cualquier otra película de la saga.

With this, and the post-credits scenes of Wanda holding the Darkhold, we are witnessing the continuation of the character's story in the movie Doctor Strange: In the Multiverse of Madness, where we already saw her as a villain.
