[ENG-ESP] What If? - Season 2 (SERIES REVIEW)

The second season of the 3D animated series What If...? is a hit on the small screen, continuing directly from its prequel released in 2022. The Watcher is a fifth dimensional being who watches over the events of the multiverse, ensuring balance within it, who was forced to assemble a team of heroes to help him fight a threat greater than himself. Now, this group of heroes is forced to split up due to personal disputes between them that once again threaten their realities.

La segunda temporada de la serie de animación 3D What If...? es un éxito en la pantalla chica, que continúa directamente de su precuela estrenada en el año 2022. The Watcher es un ser de la quinta dimensión que vigila los sucesos del multiverso, garantizando el equilibrio dentro del mismo, quien se vio obligado a reunir a un equipo de héroes que le ayudaran a combatir una amenaza superior a él. Ahora, este grupo de héroes se ve forzado a separarse debido a disputas personales entre ellos que vuelven a poner en peligro sus realidades.

Jeffrey Wright stars alongside Hayley Atwell, Jon Favreau, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chris Hemsworth, Karen Gillan, Mick Wingert, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Olsen and Josh Keaton in this nine-episode second season. The series begins with an emphasis on individual chapters that are gradually blended together until the end.

Jeffrey Wright protagoniza junto a Hayley Atwell, Jon Favreau, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chris Hemsworth, Karen Gillan, Mick Wingert, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Olsen y Josh Keaton esta segunda temporada conformada por nueve episodios. La serie, comienza haciendo énfasis con capítulos individuales que se van mezclando poco a poco hasta el final.

Each averages 29 minutes length, making them relatively easy to digest, set to a well-constructed plot with characters drawn from the Marvel comics.

Cada uno tiene una duración promedio de 29 minutos, lo que los hace relativamente fáciles de digerir, ambientados con una trama bien construida con personajes sacados de las historietas de Marvel.

The episodes, as the series indicates, are variants of the events of what would happen if, in certain cases, an event had not ended as we have previously seen it in the live-action films, showing a totally different vision of what we have already witnessed in the cinema.

Marvel has made clear here a void of storylines over time, developing both plots and underrated characters that have previously made some appearance. Examples include Hela, Odin, Happy Hogan, Peggy Carter and Howard The Duck.

Marvel ha dejado claro aquí un vacío de historias a lo largo del tiempo, desarrollando tanto tramas como personajes subestimados que han hecho su aparición anteriormente. Uno de estos ejemplos son Hela, Odin, Happy Hogan, Peggy Carter y Howard The Duck.

The action is plentiful, although What If...? is an animated series, it has nothing to envy to the films of the same company, or its series. In just half an hour per episode, it's enough to see what Marvel has to offer, what narrative to tell and what version of what would have been has to remind and entertain us.

La acción es muy abundante, aunque What If...? es una serie animada, no tiene nada que envidiarle a las películas de la misma compañía, o sus series. En tan sólo media hora por capítulo nos basta para ver qué Marvel tiene para ofrecer, qué narrativa que contar y qué versión de lo que hubiera sido tiene para hacernos recordar y entretenernos.

A new character is introduced, one who doesn't come from the comics or other projects. Kahhori is an aboriginal woman who receives her powers of teleportation and matter levitation because the Tesseract gem was banished to the Latin region and not to Europe, as we saw in the first films of The Avengers saga, giving her a power that makes her stand up to characters like Wanda or Doctor Strange.

Un nuevo personaje se introduce, uno que no proviene de los cómcis ni de otros proyectos. Kahhori es una aborigen que recibe sus poderes de teletransportación y levitación de materia debido a que la gema del Teseracto fue desterrada a la región latina y no a Europa, como vimos en las primeras cintas de la saga de The Avengers, destándole un poder sobre ella que hace que le haga frente a personajes como Wanda o Doctor Strange.

In addition to English, other languages emphasised are Spanish and Mohawk, evidencing the unforced inclusion of other cultures and their participation in Marvel Studios projects.

Además del inglés, otros idiomas a los que se le hace hincapié son el español y la lengua mohawk, evidenciando la inclusión no forzada de otras culturas y su participación en los proyectos de Marvel Studios.

Both seasons of What If...? are canon in the MCU, and this is proven at the end of the latter with its direct connection to the Loki series, so we will most likely see a cameo of these characters in a new project of the company.

Ambas temporadas de What If...? son canon en el UCM, y esto se comprueba al final de esta última con su conexión directa con la serie Loki, por lo que lo más probable es que veamos un cameo de estos personajes en un nuevo proyecto de la compañía.

Captain Carter and Kahhori have made fans fall in love, and it was so much hype that they made me watch this series, and it was well worth the entertainment time. I'm sure that with this, Marvel wants to introduce versions of already known characters to the big screen but testing with smaller projects like this.

Captain Carter y Kahhori han enamorado a los fans, y fue tanto el hype que me hicieron ver esta serie, y valió la pena y mucho el rato de entretenimiento. Estoy seguro que con esto, Marvel quiere introducir a versiones de personajes ya conocidos en la pantalla grande pero haciendo pruebas con proyectos más pequeños como este.
