The beginning of a new era

In 2012 was released one of the biggest movies in history that changed the universal style of film production forever and the way of creating unions between films of characters from different sagas, we are talking about The Avengers, directed by Joss Whedon for Marvel Studios.

Bringing together several characters from different sagas, directed by different directors and producers was a challenge to launch for the first time in the history of the film industry a film that managed to bring a plot that made all the characters fit into the same story with a unified protagonist, and that in turn was a success that would yield to later create a varied megaproject from it.

This is how The Avengers came about, bringing Robert Downey Jr.'s Ironman, Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Hawkeye(Jeremy Renner), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Tom Hiddleston as Loki. With this cast of great actors committed, a story was created that was the beginning of a new stage that we know today as The Infinity Saga.

After the banishment of the god of lies Loki from Asgard, he meets the leader of the Chetauri, who saves him and proposes him to invade Earth to obtain the Tessarect which was there (an object that allowed him to travel through space); to do so, he provides him with the gem of the mind as a tool to lead an army of his race to face the military armies of Earth.

In a first attempt, S.H.I.E.L.D. is attacked by Loki who successfully obtains the object, forcing its director Nick Fury to assemble a team of people with superhuman abilities to recover it. A team made up of characters from the films prior to this one: Thor, Ironman, Captain America and Hulk are joined by agents Black Widow and Hawkeye in plan to do so.

The film is full of action and special effects that make it a film to be totally admired. It contains scenes of the trademark humor that Marvel employs to give the story a lighter touch without taking away from its seriousness.

The costume design and level of detail combines comic book resemblance with a modernity of the era that suits the story and its protagonists. The soundtrack is a gem to appreciate at every moment and in every battle scene.

The backstory of the characters creates an intermediate phase between their previous films and the ones that come after, influencing the subsequent development of the saga that ends in Avengers: Endgame.

There is no central character, but the team itself, having Loki as an antagonist, the actor is careful to give life to a character easy to admire taken from the comics.

The events take place in the year 2012, the same year in which the film was released, according to the producers on an Earth parallel to the one we live on, called 616.

The union of mysticism, magic, Greek mythology, futuristic technology and war action is brought to the big screen for the first time, leaving all fans and new viewers open-mouthed and eager to see them once again in the same space.

Thanos' cameo at the end creates a sense of suspense and uncertainty that lengthens the trilogy, where we later see him creating chaos among several independent films to the one in question.

Despite the fact that 10 years have passed, it is a film difficult to forget for those who have already seen it, evidencing the potential of Marvel Studios for this type of deliveries and giving credit to great actors who underwent in the role to bring to life characters never seen before gathered in the same scene.

If you haven't seen it, it doesn't matter if you're not a superhero lover, as it goes beyond people in tight costumes, so I highly recommend you watch it.
