OPINION

This spin off of The toy that made us is now about the big blockbusters of the cinema, clearly because of its theme I wanted to see it, in addition to seeing its other part that talked about simple toys that made me watch 3 seasons, with this one I was sure I would be more entertaining.

I would not know exactly what are the characteristics that the films must have so that they could talk about them, perhaps their success, perhaps the permission to show their content, or perhaps getting contact with enough people to make the chapter interesting, the important thing is that, each story is an attempt by artists to defend their idea until the end, even if that means ending up in ruins or ending their professional career.

Some stories I came to see as lucky breaks; Although I don't believe in luck, they were simpler and simpler compared to others where in Forest Gump, Tom Hanks gave part of his money so that the film could be finished shooting secretly from the directors because they did not want to do it as the director planned to do it, some stories were as simple as: I wanted it to be like this, I asked if I could, they said yes and I did it.

Even so, as in the previous series, The toy that made us, I see this as a way to lift my spirits when making art at some point in my life, to see how disastrous and imperfect the creative process can be and how it is done thanks to the efforts of many people involved in the project. A project where everything seems lost can be revived if you have conviction and a group of people who believe in your idea.

I see this documentary as that, a way of seeing that even the greatest successes had their moment of despair, when it seemed that they were not going to see the light, they were what they are today, with the sacrifice of giving time, money, hours of dream, to turn the idea in which they believed so much, into reality. Ideas that could improve cinema, make a revolution where everyone followed the same idea, inspire others, films that we admire and respect so much, were able to emerge from a sea of impossibilities at first.

This series is more for movie fans, those who love to see stories in an audiovisual form, to encourage those who see it as impossible to do something that big companies have achieved, The Movies That Made Us, is a good title for what it transmits to us, it is not just a name given to get out of trouble, it is giving you a spoiler of what you will see in each chapter, without a doubt I recommend it.
