Fifty years ago this summer, the then-greatest grossing movie of all time, was released. JAWS!

Jaws (1975), directed by Steven Spielberg, is a thriller about a great white shark terrorizing Amity Island, a summer beach town. Police Chief Martin Brody (Roy Scheider), marine biologist Matt Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss), and shark hunter Quint (Robert Shaw) team up to stop the predator after it kills swimmers. Defying local officials’ attempts to downplay the threat for tourism, the trio hunts the shark aboard Quint’s boat, the Orca, in a tense battle of survival. Iconic music, gripping performances, and a blend of horror and adventure make this film a classic.
