At the age of 84, an incredibly talented composer has died. I may not be a huge fan of his work, but I was almost always delighted with his Lupin III soundtrack. Even though these were often smaller or larger remixes, new arrangements, and playing with other genres, the songs remained "fresh and good." We also received a response from Sanford Panitch, head of TriStar Motion Picture Group. I reviewed his argument, familiarized myself with the key points, and well, I partially disagree. I don't want to address the entirety of it, because I'd have to read the entire article. Perhaps I'll do so in Part 2 of my piece on the ongoing anime boom.
Why do I think he's wrong? Because streaming can create such global franchises. Stranger Things, House of Cards, The Witcher, and Game of Thrones are proof of this. Furthermore, marketing also reaches older people. Not my parents' generation, but older colleagues. The world has changed in this regard; we've been freed from television. While streaming has numerous drawbacks, which I've often discussed, it also has one enormous advantage – freedom of choice.
Sure, streaming isn't new television – it's not a long-term invention. It's a support system that allows you to earn extra money and stream B-rated productions. Or old A-rated productions that have already left cinemas or television. Every now and then, news comes out that a film is popular because it's available on streaming. Similarly, our parents discovered films on TV – The Shawshank Redemption, for example, or Blade Runner. In this case, my part of the world (Central Europe) helped it survive. We didn't save it, but we helped – we were one of the largest fanbases. We simply need to reshape the entire world for new possibilities. My generation already knows the internet and technology (in fact, we know it better than today's kids, xD), so even as old geezers, with our tits and balls up to our knees, we'll still be discussing how Son Goku kicked Vegeta's ass in Dragon Ball Z-X-Y remake 3.0. Our parents' generation caught the future too late, but we were the first generation to experience it.
I promise to read this text and reference it in my article about Anime Boom 2026. And Mr. Sandford doesn't seem to understand the new world, though of course I don't take away from his knowledge and experience, which he's been blissfully wielding. But that's no surprise; in a few years (like you), I'll be the same.

Here's another link. Toei is supposed to be one of the biggest players in promoting anime on global markets. I'm not surprised, they have many series that are beloved by fans despite the passage of time. They also made a new, big-budget animated film about Son Goku... I mean, Sun Wu Kong, or some other monkey who wanted to show off in front of Buddha and was then sentenced to punishment for the rest of time... Or even longer. Either way, prepare for a deluge of anime from Toei, WSJ, and other groups.

The math doesn't lie. OP is already a bigger brand than DB. I wouldn't say that's the case in all rankings, because I think Toriyama's title could still see a rise in popularity, but unless Eiichiro Oda screws up OP in the final stretch, the chances aren't that great. According to data released for the fiscal year on May 12th, DB generated $134.2 million, while OP generated $179.6 million.

We have received the first information about a new attempt at adapting the classic and iconic manga. I'm not familiar with the manga version, but it's apparently significantly different from what Mamoru Oshii ultimately showed us. Apparently, the comic book creator and the anime director had a major argument while creating this animated film. I'll definitely give it a try because I'm curious how they'll approach the plot. Apparently, there are a lot of sexual and comedic elements. The series will debut on July 7th.

Streaming choć ma liczne wady, o których często mówiłem, to ma też jedną, gigantyczną zaletę - wolność wyboru.
Jasne, streaming nie jest nową telewizją - nie jest to wynalazek na lata. To wsparcie, dzięki któremu można się dorobić oraz wrzucić produkcje klasy B. Albo stare klasy A, które już opuściły kina lub telewizje. Co jakiś czas wypływa informacja, że jakiś film jest chętnie oglądany, bo trafił na streaming. Tak samo nasi rodzice odkrywali jakieś filmy w TV - Skazani na Shawshank np. Albo Blade Runner, w tym przypadku moja część świata (Środkowa Europa) pomogła przeżyć temu tytułowi. Nie uratowaliśmy go, ale pomogliśmy - byliśmy jedną z większych grup fanów. Po prostu musimy przebudować cały świat pod nowe możliwości. Moje pokolenie zna już internet i technologię (ba, znamy ją lepiej niż obecne dzieciaki xD), więc nawet jako stare dziady, mając cycki i jaja po kolana, będziemy dyskutowali o tym, jak Son Goku skopał dupę Vegecie w Dragon Ball Z-X-Y remake 3.0. Pokolenie naszych rodziców za późno załapało się na pociąg do przyszłości, ale my byliśmy pierwszym pokoleniem, które je poznało.
Powiem tak, obiecuję zaznajomić się z tym tekstem i odnieść do niego w artykule o Anime-Boom 2026.
