What does "mutable" means when it refers to reality?

Anyway, I think if there's other force out there, won't it be a part of reality too?

If that's the case I think it's immutable, if it changes it just means it had the "programming" to do that from the start and our perception of it was just flawed.

I mean for thousands of years humanity thought earth was flat, right?
