EVIL DEAD RISE 2023 - COME TO MOMMY (Review)

Hope all are healthy and happy.
It's been a long time since I appeared here, this time I will review a film that I watched some time ago. Initially, this film really traumatized me and I didn't want to watch any series in this film. But because my friend was very curious, I finally accompanied him to watch this film.

As usual, I ordered tickets via the available application and arranged a viewing schedule so I didn't run out of tickets. One thing that makes this film astonishing, because my friend and I agreed to watch it at night. Alright, here are some of my views on this film, and whoever reads this I have a lot of spoilers to tell.

This film begins with the background of a forest and a tourist spot visited by 3 young people who spend their holidays by renting a villa. Unfortunately one of them came with an evil demon in her and attacked her two friends to death in terrible circumstances. This scene was taken for the intro before the real story begins.

ELLIE'S FAMILY.

The day before there lived a woman who became a guitarist technician for a famous band active in a town called Beth (Lily Sullivan). Feeling annoyed because she to conceive a baby. Beth decided to visit her older sister's house which was in an apartment to share stories.

Long story short, Beth arrives at her older sister's house, Ellie (Alyssa Sutherland). Ellie and her three children named Danny (Morgan Davies), Bridget (Gabrielle Echols) and little Kassie (Nell Fisher) were surprised by Beth's arrival at her residence. Ellie's life was very chaotic when Beth came, Ellie lived with her three children and her husband left her. Plus Ellie also has to move because the building will be demolished in a month. Beth also discouraged from telling her about her pregnancy. Beth also asked Ellie's three children to buy pizza.

While talking to Ellie and Beth, suddenly there was a very strong earthquake that cracked the basement floor and several buildings collapsed. At that time Ellie's three children had just gotten out of the car. Luckily they survived.

MYSTERIOUS BASEMENT.

The unexpected comes from Danny, Ellie's son. With curiosity he saw a hole in the floor and tried to get into it. With a flashlight, he dared to enter just to satisfy his curiosity.

After going down the hole which a building inside which turned out to be an old bank. While exploring Danny also found a room filled with crosses and an old chest that caught his attention. Consciously he took it hoping it could be sold at a high price. This is where it all started.

LIFE CHANGES IN JUST ONE NIGHT.

Danny, Bridget and Kassie went to their house using the elevator, fortunately the elevator was still in use. When they got home Ellie was very worried because the strong shaking could hurt her children. Ellie didn't care when her children returned without the pizza they ordered, for her her child's life was more important than anything.

Danny who came with a strange object from the basement immediately took it into his room and opened all its contents. Danny forced open the sealed book with his hand but instead he was injured and quickly his blood dripped on the surface of the book which made the book open by itself.

When Bridget opened it, she saw the contents of the book, the contents were terrible and this made Bridget sick and forced Danny to return the book. But not Danny's name if his curious soul is not fulfilled. Finally Danny kept it and he even opened another box that he brought and found that it contained 3 volumes of discs records. Unfortunately when Danny plays one of the discs it contains a spell for the book which turns out to be the Book of the Dead known as Naturom Demonto. When the spell was recited, Danny was unable to stop the disk. The summoned devil then immediately possessed their mother Ellie who was leaving the house to throw away her husband's belongings in the basement and was pushed back into the elevator and the devil 'tortured' Ellie and took over Ellie's body. After that, the electricity went out throughout the building and Ellie returned to her residence on the 15th floor.

A POWERFUL AND CRUEL DEVIL FREEDOM.

Arriving home, Bridget, who saw her mother walking and acting strangely, called her aunt (Beth) to check what was going on with her mother. Ellie who didn't care continued to walk towards the kitchen and fried eggs in a strange and unusual way. When Beth approached Ellie, could see her scary face and the many wounds on her body. It was then that Ellie was struggling fighting the demons in his body fighting over Ellie's body.

When Ellie realized she just told Beth to take care of her children, then Ellie vomited the fluids in her body and she fell. Beth and Ellie's children immediately got him to bed and called some of the neighbors. When Beth and some of her neighbors tried to help Ellie by praying together, suddenly Ellie woke up and attacked everyone in the building.

Bridget, who didn't believe that her mother was attacking everyone, tried to get close to her which in the end made Bridget injured and possessed by her body, it's just that Bridget was not aware that the wounds her mother gave her made her 'the same' as her mother.

MORE HORRIBLE NIGHTS.

Beth, who tried to help Ellie's children, struggled with all her might until finally she was able to throw Ellie out of the house and immediately locked the house. But this became a disaster for the neighbors who were killed by Ellie one by one.

During this chaotic situation, Bridget and Danny actually got into a fight because Bridget thought it was Danny's fault for making their mother like that. Bridget who was angry returned to her room and without realizing Bridget did strange behavior by eating broken glass and injuring herself. Beth who felt strange approached Bridget but instead Beth was attacked by Bridget by grating Beth's leg. Luckily Beth managed to escape. Danny and Beth tied Bridget to her bed for a moment when she passed out.

As Beth and Danny discuss the events, Bridget wakes up and attacks Danny and then Kassie. Danny, who was already injured, ends up becoming the devil's accomplice with Ellie and Bridget to attack Beth and Kassie.

Beth and Kassie were desperate to leave the house armed with a neighbor's rifle. Trying to escape via the stairs was impossible because the stairs had collapsed. Finally, Beth and Kassie were forced to take the elevator where Ellie was 'tortured'. With an increasingly tense atmosphere because the bodies began to connect together like a spider. At the same time the elevator was flooded with blood until Beth and Kassie drowned. Luckily, Beth and Kassie survived when the elevator opened on the basement floor.

KASSIE, THE TOUGH LITTLE GIRL.

When they go to the basement, Beth and Kassie try to escape by car through the parking door that is used with a remote, unfortunately the remote doesn't work. They had to do it manually. Beth made it through the grate-shaped parking door but not Kassie. Kassie was dragged and taken into a garbage crusher car. Hysterical Beth tried to destroy the door and managed to get through it.

When Beth tried to avert the Devil's gaze, Kassie immediately hid. The battle between the devil and Beth took my breath away because the trash shredder was alive and ready to grind whoever was in it. As Beth was pulled by the demon into the machine, Kassie swiftly turned off the machine and Beth quickly reversed the situation and put the demon inside the machine. Kassie, who was ready to hold the lever, immediately turned it on and destroyed the demon.
Then Beth and Kassie survived and left the building.

Thus my review of Evil Dead Rise. For those of you who like Gore films with nuances of blood everywhere, you must watch this film. The story of Evil Dead Rise is more touching and makes us sad a little. Because just feel of curiosity, our families died one by one.
