AGAK LAEN: MENYALA PANTIKU (REVIEW)

However, Indonesian filmmakers continue to grow. Now there are new comedy films that are fresh and always box office hits. They are new in concept, casting, and many other aspects. Although these films cannot yet be said to rival Warkop DKI, I see the possibility that Indonesian comedy films will continue to grow in a better direction.
AGAK LAEN: MENYALA PANTIKU
The sequel to the first series, Agak Laen 2 still centres on the quartet of Bene Dion, Indra Jegel, Boris Bokir, and Oki Rengga, who this time work as police officers and experience a tragic incident when they mistakenly arrest the perpetrator of a murder.

Due to this precarious situation, they have to go undercover at a nursing home that is suspected to be the perpetrator's hideout. This plan is no joke, as it carries a very high risk. If they fail again, they will have to leave the police force for good. With confidence and determination, the four of them agree to the plan.
- Indra Jegel
As a migrant worker who sends his salary to support his mother in his hometown, Indra is the type of person who speaks his mind, even if it inconveniences or hurts the person he is talking to. For him, it is better to be honest than to complicate the situation. Outside of the context of the undercover operation, however, he is unfortunately a bit short-tempered and easily offended.
- Bene Dion
A typical sandwich generation child who has to pay for his younger sibling's college tuition. He has to keep his job no matter what because his sibling's graduation will be threatened if he is late in paying the semester fees. Bene is the most level-headed of the bunch. He is a devout Christian and attends church regularly.
- Boris Bokir
His problem is that his wife is demanding a divorce because his salary is not enough, especially after he was threatened with dismissal due to a wrongful arrest case. Oris wants his marriage to survive, but he also has no financial security. Boris is quieter and more obedient than the other members.
- Oki Rengga
This character appears to be the most relaxed of all. That doesn't mean he doesn't have personal conflicts; he also has to maintain his salary because his wife is about to give birth. However, he is the funniest character and a very loyal friend.
In terms of the story, all the satirical comedy in this film is excellent. The story is neatly packaged, and even the supporting roles are well-written. Everything is on point. The satirical comedy presented in this film is very relevant to all the social and political conditions that have occurred in recent years. I give this film, which has been watched by more than 10 million viewers, an 8/10. It is still showing on the big screen.
This is highly recommended, especially if you enjoy satirical comedy films. Suitable for viewing with family members over the age of 13.
That concludes my review of the film Agak Laen. I am eagerly awaiting the next Agak Laen.
