this is about a love story and a bitter journey to find true love. The film I will discuss this time is a remake of the 2018 Chinese film Us and Them. Perhaps it will be very bitter, and for some people, it may be triggering, considering how many people have failed in love with someone they thought would be their final destination. That is the story I will review about two people named Eun-Ho and Jeong-Won.

When was the last time you remembered your most memorable ex? Or accidentally met them in a situation? What feelings arose in your heart? No feelings at all, a little nostalgia, or even longing and regret that you ended up parting ways?

ONCE WE WERE US

Eun-Ho (Koo Kyo-Hwan) accidentally meets a beautiful girl with long hair who is smoking in the rain. Unexpectedly, that beautiful girl ends up sitting next to him on the bus. An introduction was inevitable. Her name was Jeong-Won (Moon Ga-Young), who was going to the orphanage where she grew up. Because they were going in the same direction, they got to know each other better. Meeting after meeting brought them to a destiny. They eventually became close friends, lived together, and then fell in love.

!

As a teenage romance, it is common to encounter obstacles in realising one's dreams. Jeong-Hwan and Eun-Ho were both pursuing their respective dreams until something happened and they became too tired to fight together. This very common cycle does happen often.

CHARACTERISTICS

  • Eun-Ho (Koo Kyo-Hwan)

He grew up to be a caring man with a strong sense of responsibility, especially towards his girlfriend, Jeong-Won. Although he is sincere, like most men, communication issues are the main cause of the breakdown of a relationship.

  • Jeong-Won (Moon Ga-Young)

Raised in an orphanage, Jeong-Won is clearly a free-spirited girl haunted by her past, which has left her with strong self-doubt. Jeong-Won is always haunted by the fear of being abandoned and ignored. Although Jeong-Won has managed to survive and grow up and do well in school, there is a deep wound that can reopen at any time. This makes her feel it is better not to continue a relationship than to be ignored. The wounds of the past have not completely healed.

SUMMARY

This is a great film to watch with your partner to remember what you have been through and how precious the person you love and who is with you is. This film makes us more appreciative of others and of time. It can also be used for reflection on communication between couples. So, if you and your partner need a romantic film recommendation, One We Were Us is ready to accompany you, along with popcorn and your favourite drink. Enjoy the film. See you in the next review.

The film you mention so aptly may tell a common story, but from what you say, it deserves the interest of young audiences. Best regards, @titisnariyah.
