Clout ; Movie Review
This movie is titled 'Clout', produced by Bolaji Ogunmola, a Nigerian Nollywood actress. The movie starts with Bolaji Ogunmola, playing the role of Lollyp, shopping in a supermarket. Someone asks her to help take pictures with a celebrity, and she gets pissed off, but maintains her composure and snaps the picture. Afterward, she goes home angrily, ranting that people don't recognize her at all. She's upset because she and her husband, Dee, are content creators, and the person's lack of recognition hurts her ego.
She tells her husband that they need to step up their game and get more recognition online. One day, while creating content, a misunderstanding arises between them during a live session. However, she notices that her likes and engagement increase, leading her to think that people engage more with bad news online. She then suggests to her husband that they fabricate stories about their marriage having problems to gain more likes and engagement.
They succeed in gaining a large following, likes, and engagement. However, during an interview with a lady, the lady sees through their facade and accuses them of faking their marital problems. This leads to online trolling. In response, Lollyp suggests that they stage a kidnapping and post it online to garner sympathy. Although they attempt to do so, they don't succeed because someone follows the husband to the hiding spot.
The husband tells Lollyp that he can't continue living a fake life, but Lollyp insists she can't change. As a result, the husband leaves the marriage. The movie portrays the reality of social media today, where people live fake lives and tell lies just to gain validation, engagement, likes, and followers. Lollyp's desire to trend online ultimately costs her her marriage in reality.
Movie Plot: The movie "Clout" focus on the theme of social media obsession, online fame, and the blurring of reality and fantasy. The protagonist, Lollyp, becomes fixated on gaining online recognition and will go to great lengths to achieve it, including fabricating stories about her marriage.
I rate the movie 8/10 for its storyline, although it's short compared to a typical movie.
Pictures gotten from the movie.

This movie is indeed interesting.
From my view I think the society is to blame as well because it was the society engagement that encouraged them to live fake life.
Life is full of a lot especially with these content creators.
Fame is their sole aim.
Exactly, but every content creator should also know what they are doing. Thank you for reading through
You are welcome
It really does portray the reality of today. We see it a lot. People pretending to be what they are not onlince just for recognition. It's sad that Lollyp lost her marriage because of that reason but since she wasn't ready to stop and live her life as it was, I would say she deserved it. That's never the right way to live. This seem like a real interesting and relateable movie, I might give it a try
Exactly, she deserves it
That's exactly what's happening in our world today with the speedy climbing of social media.
My own is that, I don't pay attention to these celebrities life and the news about their homes. Most of them are for clout chasing and it nothing bothers them. E.g. I wanted to mention names but let me pass
!hug
