I recently came across the movie title The Beauty of Broken Things_, and I found it interesting. Produced by Bolaji Ogunmola, the film tells the story of Michael Dapper who plays David in the movie, a sickle cell warrior. The movie begins with David's girlfriend breaking up with him due to his sickle cell condition.

David meets Bolaji Ogunmola, who plays DD in the movie, at a friend's birthday party. They talk and get along, and one day, DD visits David's house, where she discovers a box of medications. David explains that these are his sickle cell medications, and DD is surprised and compassionate towards him.

As they grow closer, DD meets David's parents, and his mother asks if she's aware of his condition. DD confirms that she is and expresses her willingness to cope with it. However, when David meets DD's parents, her mother rejects him after he has a crisis and is rushed to the hospital.

Despite this, David and DD's relationship deepens, and Michael eventually tells DD to leave him, feeling that she deserves someone better. But DD insists on being part of his life, David finds love despite many previous girlfriends leaving him due to his condition.

I love the storyline and the lesson it teaches. Sickle cell warriors deserve love and should not be defined by their condition. They are not less worthy because of their struggles, and they deserve to be treated with dignity and compassion. The movie also highlights the importance of genotype compatibility for singles, emphasizing the need to know each other genotype before marriage and protect their children from pain. Overall, The Beauty of Broken Things is a heartwarming film that promotes understanding, acceptance, and love.

If the movie really teaches all these then it deserves an award. Because genotype incompatibility is a big deal and it’s sad that most times, it’s even the kids who experience the biggest impact.
