Life's controversy

I was discussing the controversial death of an actor with a friend over a telephone conversation. He was a popular actor who had featured in many movies. He had only come to the limelight a couple of years ago.

Before his death, he was said to have been seen last on the movie set they were working on. He was last captured on the river where he was planning to cross for a movie's cast. It was so unfortunate that the moment was his last. He lost his life with three other crew members. What got me most was when he mentioned that he was the only son of his parents before the boat capsized. He was recorded engaging in a conversation with the boat pilot about the fact that he was the only child and didn't want to die and mentioned that he was sorry.

Could the death have been averted? The controversial issues related to his death had gotten people talking as to why he should have used life jackets while travelling on a boat. Many said he wouldn't have died if he had put on soprecautionsion. Even though I agree with people on this issue, I'm also of the opinion that death won't tell us when it is time. It won't even warn up ahead of time. Once death comes knocking, it is a call. One must answer no doubts.

I resolved that even if he had put on a life jacket if he was to die, it would surely come to pass. I'm a bit indifferent to how people point fingers at the movie's director as she didn't do well. Many viewed that she ought takeout necessary precautions and safeguard the interest of his crew members. She received a lot of abuse from well-wishers fans fan of the said actors. I'm sure she would be devastated by the loss.

Would the said movie ever be released? Some people even frowned at the title of the movie ' The Other Side of the World'. Many attributed the death of the crew member to the title. In all sincerity, the crew members had gone to the other side of the world. However, is the director really at fault? Could the said situation be averted? I'm going to end this write-up with what it would be. Some situations could be averted while some are destined to happen.

"A time to live, a time to die", I agree no matter what decision was taken, when meant to be it will happen. Each person climbing on board had choice, no one is forced to do something they do not wish to do.

Sadly had the director been a male, would such controversy surrounded the whole event?

I don't think so. Many people thought that she lacked what it takes to be a movie director

Majority of members are white and male, everyone needs an opportunity to grow.

Never heard of this incident, sad reality in life is it still happens, many cannot swim, tread water or similar!

I think swimming is an exercise we all need to master. Anytime can happen at any time.

Swimming is excellent, added extra to survival kit for unusual circumstances.

It’s so sad, so sad.

I am so scared of water, that’s the main reason I can’t go to my village because I’d have to travel by boat and I can’t swim. Seeing this now I think I need to take my swimming lessons seriously. Like they said death is no respecter of persons.

I like your confidence. Swimming takes seriousness and perseverance. It is a good exercise one must master.

(Edited)

It's so sad if only he knew such would befall him, he would have never embarked on such trip.

But I heard his alive now and receiving treatment currently.
