Movie experience: Monarch: Legacy of Monsters 🎬🎥🎞️

The New Year began for me with an introduction to a new series, which was a pleasant discovery for me. I can't call myself a Godzilla fan, rather I treat this character very equally. It must also be admitted that the film itself is quite old and does not have modern special effects, while we are all already quite spoiled viewers. But nevertheless, I love fantasy. So when I accidentally found the series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters , I certainly started watching it.

The plot is quite simple. If, of course, a life turn is considered simple, when a monster breaks into your city, your father disappears beyond the horizon, and going in search of him, you find that he had a parallel family and you have a brother, and your ancestors and father are members of a secret organization hunting for these monsters. And so yes, it's very simple.

The central storyline is the search by young people for their father, following which they go and search for monsters. At the same time, the narrative sends us back in time, where we get acquainted with the activities of their grandparents (not monsters’, but young people’s, of course).

And here's the first question - how well do we even know our loved ones? What do we know about their lives? How much are we willing to understand and forgive? Can a family be sacrificed to an idea? I don't think these questions have unambiguous answers, it's very individual and everyone will have their own answer. But in fact, the lives of our closest people may be a secret to us. Why am I talking about it? Because if it can happen that we don't know those who live next to us, can we be sure that we know the world we live in?

Having given itself a priority role, humanity has made a global mistake. And there is or not a secret world of giant monsters, but nature itself can easily turn into such a monster. This series is a beautiful picture. But it also has its own idea. I deliberately did not read any criticism and now share my own ideas, as I see it. For me, this is a series about the fact that humanity sees itself as the king of nature without realizing that in fact it has a completely insignificant role. The desire to destroy the incomprehensible is a bad aspiration. We know so little about how the balance is ensured on the scale of the universe that we can easily knock the stool out from under our own feet, despite the fact that we have already put a loop around our neck.

But it's not so sad. After all, it's nothing more than a species struggle for dominance and survival. And you are not involved in this struggle for the first millennium and are still alive. It's encouraging. In addition, there is always hope that we will still be able to evolve. Yes, yes, we still haven't done it, no matter what we think about ourselves! We may have made a little progress on the human scale, but on a planetary scale, our progress is most likely negligible.

And yet this series is not as tedious as my reasoning. The dynamics of the plot, a beautiful picture, gorgeous monsters and our heroes flying into the abyss. What will they find at the bottom? What secrets does the parallel world keep? Be sure to watch the first season, and then we'll guess together and wait for the second one! 😉

Many times we are the monsters. We don't think about how our decisions can endanger the balance of nature.

I haven't seen the series, but I know Apple TV only has quality productions. However, your point of view makes the series take on another nuance, a more interesting one.
