The Thieves... Every Man For Himself.
When I watched this movie recently, I asked myself, "Why haven't you watched this movie before now?" Even the trailer as interesting as it is, barely scratches the amazing details, great actors and funny as hell too!!! It is one heist movie you wouldn't want to miss.
A movie directed by Choi Dong-hoon and starring great actors like Kim Yoon-seok, Kim Hye-soo, Lee Jung-jae, Jun Ji-hyun (Gianna Jun), Kim Soo-hyun, and others, it remains one of the highest grossing Korean films of all time.
Plot Summary
A group of elite Korean thieves teams up together with a crew of Hong Kong criminals. Their plan was to steal a rare diamond known as “The Tear of the Sun” from a casino in Macau. But of course this can't be a walk-over mission. Then again, everyone who's a part of this slick crew team up, has a hidden agenda, so trusting each other was an issue.
Macao Park, a man with a murky past is the one who recruits the Korean crew for this heist while the Hong Kong crew is led by Chen and Andrew.
Their mission to steal the the twenty million dollar diamond from the heavily guarded Macau casino and sell it to an unknown buyer in Seoul was filled with betrayals and double-crosses.
I loved the stunts, the shootouts, and the sudden twists. When everything goes south, it becomes every thief for themselves—and the final prize goes to the one who can outwit them all.
I loved the performance of Jun Ji-hyun, portrayed by Yenicell, an actress I fell in love with from way back, "My Sassy Girl". Yenicell did great with her amazing badass character. She steals the show with her bold and athletic performances.
It is fast pace, with lots of action, very energetic, wildly entertaining. From rooftop chases to slow motion fights to wire-walking stunts.... It has it all..
Of course I would expect nothing less than a stellar performance from a movie that broke box office records in Korea upon release and sold over 12 million tickets domestically..... Wow!
I'm rating it 4.5/5 stars.

I watched The Thieves recently, and it honestly blew me away. The action was intense, and the plot twists had me hooked from start to finish. Jun Ji-hyun as Yenicell was my favorite she completely owned that role. The cast was amazing overall. It’s one of the best heist movies I’ve seen. I really enjoyed it!
