The Archive is worth a watch
I hadn't visited Netflix for a while, logged in today while at work and a 2020 scifi movie called The Archive popped in my recommendations.
IMDB rating was a modest 6 point something but with nothing better to watch and a couple hours to kill it seemed like an okayish option. It's not like I have many alternatives while at work, as porn is off limits thanks to firewall.
So, this is a film starring Theo James which as always felt a bit meh to me and touches various subjects, like AI, love, coping with death, suicide etc etc
When it comes to scifi it's not my exact cup of tea as I am more of a bang bang guy. So I found the movie a bit boring. And it definitely is a bit slow paced so that didn't help much.
But it's not a bad film. I liked how the various concepts and themes were intermingled. And I also liked the various metaphors and shit. And the cinematography. And although I saw it coming midway through, I also liked the ending and how it was delivered.
So yeah, I liked the film.
I am sure there are people who will love or hate it way more then I did. Me, I will give it a solid 7/10, it would possibly have been more with a different actor playing the protagonist.
Imo you should give it a try.. hopefully you will enjoy it!

Sometimes, IMDB rating can be totally misleading, it's either it's overrated or underated, it was best you saw it, another person might just hate the movie too. I think.

This movie gives me Westworld/ Ex Machina vibes. I think there was a similar movie to this that stars Keanu Reeves bringing back loved ones with technology. I like robot movies so I'll add this to my list.

Oh, btw, the kid in Samaritan was annoying AF. That's just my opinion. Although, I do recognize now in my later years that, as a child, I was perhaps also annoying AF. Weren't we all though?

Total sly fan here. Well, except for the "Stop or My Mom will Shoot" movie. I think Sly had some student loans to pay off or something. I liked and enjoyed the Samaritan though. It was a fun movie.

Nicolas cage went from an A-list Oscar winning actor to not even being on the alphabet. He must have massive student loan bills. Netflix and Amazon keep putting out his movies. I think there is some conspiracy stuff going on. When my day is off I'll sometimes watch one of these direct to video movies and feel better by the end of it.
Must give it a watch. Did you watch the Boys yet on Prime. I can't believe it has escaped me for this long. It's brilliant.

The Boy is one of most underrated series tbh! I hope Disney won't get involve into this. They just want PG 16 and ruin everything Lol.

Been like quite long since I watched any SCI-FI and added this one in my watch list, trailer seems like very Good and if being suggested by you than I can say it's worth a watch.
Kinda like watching "House of Dragons" nowadays.!
