Today I'm going to recommend a very unique and sentimental film (I must admit it brought tears to my eyes every time I watched it). Despite the emotional quality of this film, I took away certain feelings and values ​​that I'll always remember.

This film was released in 2019, and its genre is drama and romance. At first glance, it seems like a young adult romance with a touch of fantasy, but the plot is based on a story of love, loss, and emotional healing. You can find it on platforms like Crunchyroll.

SYNOPSIS / SUMMARY:

Hinako is a young woman who moves to a coastal town to attend college and pursue a career in surfing, without giving much thought to her future. When a fire breaks out in her apartment, Hinako meets the young firefighter who rescues her, Minato. As the two spend time together while pursuing their favorite sport, Hinako begins to realize that what she wants most in the world, like Minato, is to help other people.

OUR PROTAGONISTS HINAKO AND MINATO:

The plot introduces us to Hinako Mukaimizu, a young college student full of energy, passionate about surfing, and with a carefree spirit.

And on the other hand we have Minato Hinageshi, a helpful, kind and above all responsible firefighter.

With both of them, we see a genuine and intense connection, and their lives change completely... Our protagonists complement each other in a very natural way, showing us the relationship between a free and spontaneous person and a stable and committed person.

This relationship blossoms in the summer, filled with laughter, waves, and every simple yet unique moment. However, this sense of happiness is cut short by a tragedy that will shape the rest of the story.

HINAKO'S GRIEF:

Minato dies unexpectedly after an accident while trying to save others at sea. This plunges Hinako into a state of grief, depression, and, above all, disorientation. She, who had previously lived a carefree life, faces for the first time the emptiness of losing someone who was her emotional support and her reason to continue surfing.

Much of this film shows us the most human stages of a person grieving: from the stage of sadness, denial, and the process of accepting that life goes on.

However, not everything ends this way; something "magical" happens within the film, as Hinako begins to see Minato reflected in the water every time she sings their favorite song together.

This "symbol" between the two is not only the spiritual bond that remains between them, but also the difficulty of letting go of what we love and this process that we all go through at some point in our lives. But the beautiful thing about this story is that little by little Hinako manages to regain her strength and move on.

The end of the film (for me) is heartbreaking, when Hinako hears the message Minato left her on the Christmas tree they heard last year when they were together... I have no words to describe the mixed feelings that scene gave me:
A message for Miss Hinako Mukaimizu from Minato Hinageshi: "It's been a year since this presentation, hasn't it? Merry Christmas Hinako! Let's spend every Christmas to come together, always, always... ALWAYS!

THINGS I TAKE AWAY FROM THE FILM:

• Many people at the beginning of the film believe that their love arose by chance (myself included), but as the plot progresses, a very sweet detail is revealed... Hinako and Minato had already met before. Previously (when they were children), Minato suffered a surfing accident and Hinako rescued him. This scene takes on a very profound meaning, apart from fate, but also that Minato admired the person who saved him so much that he decided to be inspired to become a much braver and more protective person.

• Experiencing grief over the death of someone you love isn't about forgetting them; it's about learning to live with the memory of who that person was... you could say that letting go doesn't mean losing, but rather accepting.

• True and healthy love doesn't end with death; this doesn't prevent you from remembering that person or from ceasing to love forever... it transforms into memories, inspiration, and strength for yourself.

• I thought the animation was very beautiful; it maintains a color palette that perfectly reflects the characters' emotions and every moment.

I highly recommend this film, as it's one of the few that makes you reflect on life, love, and loss or grief without descending into excessive drama or exaggeration. The story is simple but very, VERY emotional, showing us how even after losing something or someone irreplaceable, we can continue moving forward if we learn to remember with love and not sadness. This film is ideal for those looking for an emotional and melancholic film, as it tells a story that can touch the hearts of many.

El día de hoy les recomendaré una película muy particular y sentimental (Debo admitir que me sacó lágrimas todas las veces que la ví), a pesar del sentimiento que tiene esta película, me llevo unos sentimientos y valores que recuerdo siempre.

Esta película se estrenó en 2019, y el género que tiene es de drama y romance. A primera vista parece un relato romántico de jovenes con ciertos toques de fantasía, sin embargo la trama se basa en una historia de amor, pérdida y la sanación emocional. Lo pueden encontrar en plataformas como Crunchyroll.

SINOPSIS / RESUMEN:

Hinako es una joven que se muda a un pueblo de la costa para asistir a la universidad y dedicarse a surfear, sin pensar mucho en su futuro. Cuando se desata un fuego en su apartamento, Hinako conoce al joven bombero que la rescata, Minato. A medida que ambos comparten su tiempo mientras se dedican a su deporte favorito, Hinako comienza a darse cuenta de que lo que más desea en el mundo es, como Minato, ayudar a otras personas.

NUESTROS PROTAGONISTAS HINAKO Y MINATO:

La trama nos presenta a Hinako Mukaimizu, una joven universitaria llena de energía, apasionada por el surf y con un alma libre sin preocupación alguna.

Y por otro lado tenemos a Minato Hinageshi, un bombero servicial, amable y sobre todo responsable.

Con ambos observamos una conexión genuina e intensa, la vida de los dos cambia por completo... Nuestros protagonistas se complementan de una forma muy natural, donde nos demuestra la relación de una persona libre y espontanea junto a una persona estable y comprometida.

Esta relación florece en verano, llena de risas, olas y cada momento simple pero único. Sin embargo, esta sensación de felicidad se ve interrumpida por una tragedia que marcará el resto de la historia.

EL DUELO DE HINAKO:

Minato muere de una forma inesperada, tras un accidente mientras intentaba salvar a otras personas en el mar, esto sumerge a Hinako en un estado de duelo, depresión y sobre todo desorientación. Ella que antes vivía de una forma despreocupada, se enfrenta por primera vez al vacío de perder alguien que era su apoyo emocional y su razón para seguir surfeando.

Gran parte de esta película nos muestra la etapa más humana de una persona sufriendo el duelo: Desde la etapa de tristeza, negación y el proceso de aceptar que la vida continúa.

Sin embargo no todo acaba de esta manera, sino que ocurre algo "mágico" dentro de la película, como Hinako comienza a ver a Minato reflejado en el agua cada vez que canta la canción favorita que tenían juntos.

Este "símbolo" que tienen los dos no sólo es el vínculo a nivel espiritual que permanece entre ambos, sino también la dificultad de soltar lo que amamos y este proceso que todos pasamos alguna vez en la vida. Pero lo bonito de esta historia es que poco a poco Hinako logra recuperar sus fuerzas y seguir adelante.

El cierre de la película (para mí) es desgarrador, cuando Hinako escucha el mensaje que le dejó Minato en el árbol de navidad que escucharon el año pasado cuando estaban juntos... no tengo palabras para describir los sentimientos encontrados que me dio esa escena:
Un mensaje para la señorita Hinako Mukaimizu de Minato Hinageshi: " Ha pasado un año desde esta presentación ¿No?, ¡Feliz navidad Hinako! Pasemos todas las navidades que vienen juntos, siempre, siempre... SIEMPRE!

COSAS QUE ME LLEVO DE LA PELÍCULA:

• Muchas personas al inicio de la película creen que su amor surgió de casualidad (Me incluyo), pero mientras la trama avanza nos revela un detalle muy lindo... Hinako y Minato ya se conocían desde antes. Pues anteriormente (cuando eran niños) Minato sufrió un accidente mientras surfeaba y Hinako lo rescató, esta escena cobra un significado muy profundo aparte del destino, sino que Minato admiró tanto a la persona que lo salvó y decidió inspirarse para volverse una persona mucho más valiente y protector.

• El vivir el duelo por la muerte de alguien que aprecias no es para olvidarla, es para aprender a vivir con el recuerdo de lo que era esa persona... se podría decir que dejar ir no significa perder, sino aceptar.

• Un amor verdadero y sano no termina con la muerte, este no es impedimento para recordar a esa persona o dejar de amar para siempre... se llega a transformar en recuerdos, inspiración y fortaleza para uno mismo.

• Me pareció muy hermosa la animación, mantiene una paleta de colores que refleja de buena manera las emociones y cada momento de los personajes.

Recomiendo mucho esta película, ya que es una de las pocas que te hace reflexionar sobre la vida, el amor y la pérdida o duelo sin caer en un drama o exageración excesiva. La historia es simple pero muy MUY emocional, nos muestra como incluso después de perder algo o alguien irremplazable, podemos seguir avanzando si aprendemos a recordar con amor y no con tristeza. Esta película es ideal para quienes buscan una película emotiva y melancólica, ya que cuenta una historia que puede tocar el corazoncito de más de uno.
