Audacious cinema has always been a frequent thing; it can show us stories about situations and people that we see, but we let go unnoticed. From a perspective contrary to that fantasy world, you assume an idyllic life lived by these individuals who lie in the perfect world of influencers, but what happens in the intimacy of these people? Do they claim to be who they are as they show us in their videos and photographs?
This film, which portrays life as a documentary, shows us an example that not everything we see on screen is real. It invites us to reflect and be aware of a separate establishment between reality and fiction. It touches on feelings that make us understand that not all fame brings happiness and that loneliness can be present, even if you have millions of followers on top of you.

El cine audaz siempre ha sido algo frecuente, es capaz de mostrarnos historias sobre situaciones y personas que vemos, pero dejamos pasar desapercibidas. Desde una perspectiva contraria a ese mundo de fantasía, supones una vida idílica vivida por estos individuos que yacen en el mundo perfecto de los influencers, pero, ¿qué pasa en la intimidad de estas personas? ¿De verdad ellos dicen ser quienes son como nos muestran en sus videos y fotografías?
En esta película, que retrata la vida a manera documental, nos muestra un ejemplo de que no todo lo que vemos en pantalla es real. Nos invita a reflexionar y ser conscientes de un establecimiento separado entre la realidad y la ficción. Toca sentimientos que nos hacen comprender que no toda fama trae felicidad, y que la soledad puede estar presente, aunque tengas millones de seguidores encima.

Pornmelancholia is a documentary film directed by Argentine filmmaker Manuel Abramovich, who wrote the screenplay along with Fernando Krapp and Pio Longo. Abramovich was also in charge of the photographic part of the film, awarding it a prize for best cinematography at the San Sebastian Film Festival.

Plot
The story centers on Lalo Santos, a young man from Oaxaca, Mexico, who works in a factory in the capital city to make ends meet. Santos posts pictures of his naked body on X, receiving many compliments from the people who follow him. While reviewing the results of his posts on the social network, he finds an advertisement seeking actors for a gay XXX movie. Lalo, motivated to earn good money, decides to answer the ad, which will enable him to enter the world of porn.
Thanks to this decision, Lalo begins a new life as an influencer of adult content for the gay public, leading a more solvent life in terms of his condition as an HIV carrier, however, despite the bearing he shows in his social networks, as an ardent person who enjoys strong sex, Lalo carries with him a deep feeling of sadness, which contrasts with his life as a public figure and that in videos we can not see.

La historia se centra en Lalo Santos, un joven proveniente de Oaxaca, México, quien vive en la capital trabajando en una fábrica para poder subsistir. My opinion
The film is interesting because it shows you a facet of this world that seems idyllic through the life of an influencer dedicated to pornographic content, showing the dark and impassable side of the moon. The plot of the film is to show Lalo's true feelings and his non-conformity, letting you understand that the product, as well as the producer, do not share the same emotions.
This is something very common in many creators in different areas of entertainment, which I find fascinating and the film lets you know this perspective. However, controversy is not far behind, due to the displeasure of the lead actor in filming this movie.
The film portrays the strong feeling of melancholy that Lalo Santos suffers in real life; a feeling that the director, according to Santos, took advantage of to give the film a more emotional feel. The controversy continues with Santos declaring that there are filmmakers who take advantage of the negative feelings of their actors to give a more realistic touch to their product, and the actor's displeasure was so great that he did not even attend the premiere of the film about his life. The dispute became so heated that to this day Santos has cut off all relations with the director, dedicating himself only to what he does.
Apart from all the strong controversy surrounding this film, which is very interesting, I must say that the film did not grab me at all. The plot is too, but excessively slow, it gets to the point of being overwhelmingly boring. Although I got to know a bit of the story of the other performers, who are also real-world porn influencers, the truth is that I couldn't connect with any of them, especially Lalo, who is supposed to be the main character and who is the one with the deep affliction.
It was not clear to me why Lalo suffered from this deep feeling of melancholy. I thought it might be because of his HIV-positive status, but that doesn't make sense, since in the film he says that he contracted the virus as a teenager and currently has an undetectable status thanks to antiretroviral treatment. Or maybe he felt that way because he was immersed in this overwhelming world of porn, where he is always in the spotlight of the people who follow him; something he had to live to lead a more solvent life. If making this movie was too devastating for him, why did he decide to make it? Did he not foresee what would happen? Did he believe that it wouldn't have repercussions for something more delicate? I sincerely doubt it.

La película es interesante, porque te muestra una faceta de este mundo que parece idílico a través de la vida de un influencer dedicado al contenido pornográfico, enseñando el lado oscuro e intransitable de la luna. El argumento de la película es demostrar los verdaderos sentimientos de Lalo y su inconformidad, dejando entender que el producto, tanto como el productor, no comparten las mismas emociones.
Esto es algo muy común en muchos creadores de diferentes áreas del entretenimiento, lo cual me parece fascinante y la película te permite conocer esta perspectiva. Sin embargo, la controversia no se queda atrás, debido al disgusto del actor protagonista al filmar esta película.
El film retrata el fuerte sentimiento de melancolía que Lalo Santos sufre en la vida real; sensación que el director, según Santos, aprovechó para darle un sentido más emotivo a la película. La polémica sigue con Santos declarando de que existen cineastas que se aprovechan de los sentimientos negativos de sus actores para darle un toque más realista a su producto, y fue tanto así el desagrado del actor, que ni siquiera fue al estreno de la película sobre su vida. La disputa se elevó tan impetuosa, que hasta el día de hoy Santos cortó toda relación con el director, dedicándose únicamente a lo que hace.
Apartando toda la fuerte polémica que rodea esta obra cinematográfica; la cual es muy interesante, debo decir que la película no me atrapó para nada. La trama es demasiado, pero excesivamente lenta, llega al punto de ser abrumadoramente aburrida. A pesar de que pude conocer un poco la historia de las demás interpretaciones, que también son influencers en el mundo real dedicados al porno, lo cierto es que no pude conectar con ninguno de ellos, especialmente con Lalo, quien se supone que es el protagonista y quien es el que posee una profunda aflicción.
No me quedó claro del porqué Lalo sufre este profundo sentimiento de melancolía. Pensé que sería por su condición de VIH positivo, pero eso no tiene sentido, ya que en la película cuenta que contrajo el virus desde adolescente y que actualmente posee un estatus indetectable gracias al tratamiento antirretroviral. O tal vez se sentía así porque se encontraba inmerso en este mundo abrumador del porno, donde siempre está en el foco de la gente que lo sigue; cosa que le tocó vivir para llevar una vida más solvente. Si hacer esta película fue demasiado devastador para él, ¿por qué decidió hacerla? ¿Acaso él no previno lo que pasaría? ¿De verdad creía que esto no repercutiría en el algo más delicado? Sinceramente lo dudo.
Conclusions
Pornmelancholia, is a story that shows you the other facade of a porn influencer, but the images it exposes are not fully developed. I didn't connect with either the story or the characters, much less the lead actor, who should be the main object of study in all of this. It has a hopelessly slow plot, which is only saved by excellent photography, but it's not enough. The implausible things it presents, do not allow one to develop a concrete opinion, not even the strong statements of Lalo Santos against the director and the product in which he was part, clarify these doubts.
I do not recommend this film at all, besides the fact that it is too long for the little quality content it presents.

Pornomelancolía, una historia que te enseña la otra fachada de un influencer del porno, pero que las imágenes que expone no están del todo desarrolladas. No conecté ni con la historia ni con los personajes, mucho menos con el actor principal, quien debería ser el principal objeto de estudio de todo esto. Tiene una trama desesperantemente lenta, que solo es salvada por una excelente fotografía, pero no es suficiente. Las cosas inverosímiles que presenta, no permiten que uno desarrolle una opinión concreta, ni siquiera las fuertes declaraciones de Lalo Santos contra el director y el producto en el que él fue parte, esclarecen estas dudas.
No recomiendo para nada esta película, además de que es demasiado larga para el poco contenido de calidad que presenta.
