Hello, film fans!
I hope you are well. As for me, since I am already on holiday, I can enjoy Christmas without any worries, and the first thing I did was watch Christmas films. I usually watch the same Christmas films every year, sometimes watching a new film or two; this time I watched Code: Red Suit.
This is a Christmas action fantasy film that combines action, explosions, humour, and a fantastic adventure. The story introduces us to Jack O'Malley, a sceptical, badly behaved, and rowdy child who has never believed in Santa. Growing up, he became a hacker and a nefarious thief who only lives for himself.
He is hired by an anonymous person to find someone. What Jack didn't know was that the person he was looking for was Santa Claus himself, and when he gave him the coordinates of his location at the North Pole, he was promptly kidnapped. Here, all creatures of fantasy, legends, cultures and religions exist; Santa is one of the most important and protected, both by the government, which knows of his existence, and by M.O.R.A., an agency dedicated to safeguarding mythological beings.
Even so, Santa has a large protection squad of elves, humans, penguins, polar bears and other beings who protect him, including Callum Drift, his most formidable bodyguard, who, together with Jack, will embark on a dangerous adventure to find Santa and rescue him before Christmas.
I liked the film from the very beginning, especially because of the actors, the action, and the large number of mythological and folkloric creatures present. The headless horseman literally appears, they fight snowmen, and my favourite, the mythological creature from Alpine folklore, Krampus, although he is not the only dark figure in Christmas folklore.
I really liked the fusion of different beings from the folklore of different countries, all in one film. The action is quite good, my favourite fights being the one with the snowmen and when they played 'Kramponazo'. I really liked the mix of action, drama and humour. And because Jack's character was so hilarious in his manner, he would just be like, "Are you serious?" about what was happening in the story, and then suddenly everything would be very serious and he would come out with the funniest comment.
I really liked the production design and the characterisation of the characters and settings. Everything was suddenly very cheerful, magical and colourful at the North Pole or dark and scary in the Krampus mountains, so there were moments that could be a bit scary for a child.
But overall, I thought the film was good, fun, Christmassy and magical. Something else I liked was the logistics behind Santa's work and the North Pole, and how well planned everything is to deliver all the presents.
Although every Christmas film has an emotional and sentimental message behind it, and this one is no exception, it is addressed almost at the end, mainly because the film focuses more on the search for Santa and saving him; even so, I really liked the final scene referring to this message. It's a very good film, so if you have the chance to see it, do so!

Espero que se encuentre bien. Por mi parte, como ya tengo vacaciones, ya puedo disfrutar de la Navidad sin preocupaciones y lo primero que hice fue ver películas navideñas. Por lo usual, siempre veo las mismas películas de Navidad todos los años, a veces viendo una que otra película nueva; esta vez vi Código: traje rojo.
Esta es una película de acción navideña y fantasía que mezcla acción, explosiones, humor y una aventura fantástica. La historia nos presenta a Jack O’Malley, un niño escéptico, mal portado y rufián que nunca ha creído en Santa. Y al crecer se convirtió en un hacker y un ladrón nefasto que solo vive para sí mismo.
Este es contratado por una persona anónima para encontrar a alguien. Lo que Jack no sabía es que a quien estaba buscando era al mismísimo Santa Claus y, al darle las coordenadas de su ubicación en el polo norte, este es prontamente secuestrado. Aquí todas las criaturas de fantasía, leyendas, culturas y religiones existen; Santa es de las más importantes y protegidas, tanto por el gobierno que sabe de la existencia de Santa como por M.O.R.A., una agencia dedicada a resguardar seres mitológicos.
Aun así, Santa cuenta con un gran escuadrón de protección de elfos, humanos, pingüinos, osos polares y demás seres que lo protegen, entre ellos Callum Drift, su guardaespaldas más formidable, quien junto con Jack se embarcará en una aventura peligrosa para encontrar a Santa y rescatarlo antes de Navidad.
La película me gustó desde el primer instante, sobre todo por los actores, la acción y por la gran cantidad de criaturas mitológicas y de folclore presentes; literalmente sale el jinete sin cabeza, pelean contra muñecos de nieve y mi favorito, la criatura mitológica del folclore de los Alpes, Krampus, aunque él no es la única figura oscura dentro del folclore navideño.
Me gustó mucho esa fusión de diferentes seres pertenecientes al folklore de distintos países, todos en una sola película. La acción es bastante buena, siendo de mis peleas favoritas la que tuvieron con los muñecos de nieve y cuando jugaron al “Kramponazo”. Me gustó mucho la mezcla de acción, drama y humor. Y como el personaje de Jack era tan hilarante en su forma de ser, él simplemente quedaba como: ¿Es enserio? Ante lo que sucede en la historia, entonces de repente todo era muy en serio y él salió con un comentario de lo más gracioso.
Me gustó mucho el diseño de producción y la caracterización de los personajes y de los escenarios. Todo de repente era muy alegre, mágico y vistoso en el polo norte u oscuro y aterrador en las montañas de Krampus, por lo que había momentos que podían verse algo aterradores para un niño.
Pero en general la película me pareció buena, divertida, navideña y mágica. Algo que también me gustó es la logística que mostraron detrás del trabajo de Santa y el Polo Norte, y es que se planifican muy bien para entregar todos los regalos.
Aunque toda película navideña tiene un mensaje emotivo y sentimental detrás y esta no es la excepción, este se aborda casi al final, sobre todo porque la película se centra más en la búsqueda de Santa y salvarlo; aun así, la escena final referente a este mensaje me gusto bastante. Es una muy buena película, por lo que si tienen oportunidad de verla, ¡háganlo!
