THE PICK UP(2025) // MOVIE REVIEW

Here's a summary of the movie, so Keke Palmer known as Zoe seduced Pete Davidson, known as Travis to get some valuable and secret information about his company, he works as a security guards for a New Jersey armored truck company.
After meeting him at a bank where they created a funny scene and afterwards went on a date and had a fun fiilled night. Zoe succeeded in getting the informations and also left giving him a wrong number.

Travis is a total jerk, an idiot, who had dreams of becoming a police, on arriving work at his security company the next morning, he was paired with Eddie Murphy, who is known as Russell here.
It was Russell's 25th wedding anniversary, and he had promised to be with his wife for dinner.
It was the first time they were being paired up, Russell realizing he was paired with the new kid, had a weird look on his face.
Russel just want to retire and open a breakfast store with his wife, Natalie.

Russel and his partner, Travis, were on their way to deliver with their truck, when Zoe and her team attacked them, what they needed was the truck for the heist and not to steal from them .
This was really an exciting scene, and also full of actions, the part of this fight scene I enjoyed was the driving, it was giving fast and furious vibes, they were on a high speed in a zone that has no network, so they couldn't call for help.
Another part that was funny was when they used dye packs as a weapon, threw dyes pack on the hijackers car steering, which led to an accident and that was how Zoe left her partners behind, because she succeeded in entering the truck alone .
This hijack scene was very thrilling, fun and interesting.
The most interesting part of the movie to me.

It was when Zoe removed her mask , Travis recognized her , but refused to speak up, because he remembered he gave her an information about his job , Russell couldn't fight her either because she has threatened to kill Natalie.
What Zoe wanted was the truck, and not what was inside the truck , they also had to assist her in the heist to make it work , look real too and both were left with no other option.
Another funny scene is the monkey statue in the truck , that was worth millions, it was really an ugly looking statue .

Zoe plan was to steal $60million from a casino, a place her late father worked for, protected them from robbery, but when he died they never took care of his family , she suffered with her mom and decided to rob them for their actions.
The heist went smoothly, on their way out they crossed the truck that was suppose to take the money from the casino which led to an alarm, police chased them, helicopters were after them and the worse was when Zoe's partners came after them after surviving the car accident, but in all they fought their way through and finally Zoe escaped with a private helicopter, as planned.
The driving skills here was really thrilling and interesting too .

In the end we were meant to believe that Zoe and Travis had real connections, Russell celebrated with his wife and got a huge price gift from Zoe in his next anniversary , it was a happy ending for everyone.

One of the things, I learnt in this movie is survival, this movie actually shows how people uses everything they could in time of danger for survival, it was during the fast drive we realized ,Travis was a little bit intelligent. Russell fought wheb thought the hijackers were after the money in the truck , he kept spraying money and also use the dye pack to eliminate Zoe's gangs ,who would have been a threat to their lives .

Eddie Murphy, who played the role of Russel wasn't so funny in this movie, Travis made the movie extremely funny, more than Eddie did.
Keke Palmer was effortlessly humorous too, she played a good role in the comic and action aspect of this movie.
The story line was good, there was more actions that humour, I would rate this movie a 7/10.
It's a good comedy heist to watch.
